과불화 알코올을 이용한 발수성 폴리우레탄 코팅 필름의 제조 (Preparation of Water Repellent Polyurethane Coating Films Using Perfluoroalkyl Alcohol)

  • 불소가 함유된 폴리우레탄 코팅 용액을 과불화 알코올, toluene diisocyanate와 polycarbonate diol을 출발물질로 사용하여 합성하였다. 이렇게 합성된 불소 함유 폴리우레탄 코팅 용액을 기재인 PC 위에 스핀 코팅 후 $120^{\circ}C$에서 열경화시켜 코팅 필름을 제조하였다. 제조된 코팅 필름의 물성을 FT-IR spectroscopy, UV-visible spectrometer, 접촉각 측정기와 연필경도 측정기를 사용하여 분석하였다. 과불화 알코올의 첨가는 코팅 필름의 발수성을 향상시켜, 물 접촉각을 $81^{\circ}C$에서 $111^{\circ}C$로 증가시켰다. 그러나 코팅 필름의 연필경도는 과불화 알코올의 첨가에도 불구하고 H로 일정하였다.

Preparation and Characterization of Coating Solution Based on Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersion containing Fluorine for Primer on Electro Galvanized Steel Sheet

  • The purpose of this research was to synthesize fluorine modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion (F-WPU) by soap-free (internal emulsifier) emulsion polymerization techniques, to prepare coating solution based on fluorine modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion (F-WPU) and to compare the chemical and thermo-mechanical properties on the electrogalvanized steel sheet. Environmentally friendly F-WPU was prepared with a fluorinated polyol containing 60 wt% of fluorine. There are various ways of combining a wide variety of fluorinated polyols and diisocyanate to exhibit novel properties of waterborne polyurethane dispersion. Components of coating solution were largely divided into 4 kinds i.e., F-WPU, acrylic emulsion, silane coupling agent, and colloidal silicate. F-WPU coating solution on the electro-galvanized steel sheet showed excellent properties of corrosion resistance, alkali resistance and heat resistance, as compared to other coating solutions using a general waterborne resin. The F-WPU coating solution's reliable effects are possibly due to the fluorine atoms incorporated even in a small amount of F-WPU.

불소계 폴리올에스테르의 합성과 윤활 특성 (Synthesis and Lubrication Properties of Semi-Fluorinated Polyol Esters)

  • New semi-fluorinated polyol esters were synthesized by condensation reaction of polyols (NPG and TMP) and carboxylic acids such as 2-ethylhexanoic acid, stearic acid and perfluorooctanoic acid. The structures of polyol esters were confirmed by FT-IR and H-NMR etc. And, the fluorinated polyol esters were insoluble in several oils, however, the semi-fluorinated polyol esters were soluble in several oils depended on the structure of polyol esters. The physical properties such as 4-ball wear property and extreme-pressure (EP) properties were characterized by measuring wear scar diameter through ASTM D2266 and by determining the load-carrying through ASTM D2783 method, respectively. As the results, wear scar diameters of oils in which the semi-fluorinated polyol esters were added were not changed compared to those of not added oils. While extreme-pressure properties remarkably Increased with fluorine contents of the esters depended on the structure of acid moiety and polyol moiety. Also, the extreme-pressure property of semi-fluorinated NPG polyol ester in gasoline engine oil was better than that of commercial Teflon coating additive.

알콕시 실란기능화 양친성 고분자 전구체를 이용한 유-무기 하이브리드 졸 제조 및 이를 이용한 발수 코팅 (Preparation of O-I hybrid sols using alkoxysilane-functionalized amphiphilic polymer precursor and their application for hydrophobic coating)

  • 본 연구에서는 소수성 PPO 사슬과 친수성 PEO 사슬들이 동시에 존재하고, 반응성 알콕시 실란기를 가지고 있는 알콕시 실란 기능화 양친성 고분자 전구체 (Alkoxysilane-functionalized Amphiphilic Polymer, AFAP)를 합성하여, 이를 TEOS과의 Hydrolysis- Polycondensation 반응에서 분산안정제 및 반응속도 조절제로 이용하여서 유-무기 하이브리드 나노입자가 안정적으로 분산된 졸 (Sol)을 제조하였다. 제조된 Sol에 불소 함유 실란화합물을 혼합·반응하여서 불소함유 유-무기 하이브리드 Sol을 제조하였고, 이를 유리 기재에 코팅하고 저온 경화를 통해 기재위에 경화필름을 형성하였다. 형성된 경화 필름은 AFAP 및 불소 함유 실란화합물의 첨가량, 용매 종류에 따라서 표면 경도 및 발수 특성이 변화하였다. 최적의 용매 및 불소 함유 실란화합물 첨가량에서 태양전지나 디스플레이에 적용가능한 투명하면서도 견고한 유-무기 하이브리드 형태의 코팅필름 형성이 가능하였다.

Tetraethoxysilane과 Chlorotrimethylsilane으로부터 PMMA 기재 위에 발수성 코팅 도막 제조 (Preparation of Water-Repellent Coating Films from Tetraethoxysilane and Chlorotrimethylsilane on PMMA Substrates)

  • 출발물질로서 TEOS (tetraethoxysilane)와 CTMS (chlorotrimethylsilane)를 사용하여 물과의 가수분해 및 중축합 반응에 의해 발수 코팅 용액을 합성하였다. 또한 이 용액을 PMMA 시트 위에 도포하고 열처리하여 비불소계 발수 코팅 도막을 제조하였다. 코팅 도막은 수접촉각, UV-Vis 투과율 및 미세구조 관찰에 의해 분석되었다. CTMS/TEOS의 몰비를 0.6~1.0으로 변화시켜 제조 된 코팅 도막은 CTMS/TEOS의 몰 비가 0.8일 때 $107^{\circ}$의 최대 접촉각을 나타내었다. 또한 코팅 도막은 CTMS/TEOS의 몰 비가 0.6~0.8일 때 90%의 높은 가시광선 투과율을 보였다. 그러나 CTMS/TEOS의 몰 비가 0.9~1.0인 경우에는 거친 표면의 불균일한 형상으로 인해 코팅 도막은 70% 이하의 낮은 투과율을 보였다.

Atmospheric Plasma Spray코팅을 이용한 Yttrium계 소재의 내플라즈마성 및 세정 공정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Plasma Corrosion Resistance and Cleaning Process of Yttrium-based Materials using Atmospheric Plasma Spray Coating)

  • In this study, the plasma corrosion resistance and the change in the number of contamination particles generated using the plasma etching process and cleaning process of coating parts for semiconductor plasma etching equipment were investigated. As the coating method, atmospheric plasma spray (APS) was used, and the powder materials were Y2O3 and Y3Al5O12 (YAG). There was a clear difference in the densities of the coatings due to the difference in solubility due to the melting point of the powdered material. As a plasma environment, a mixed gas of CF4, O2, and Ar was used, and the etching process was performed at 200 W for 60 min. After the plasma etching process, a fluorinated film was formed on the surface, and it was confirmed that the plasma resistance was lowered and contaminant particles were generated. We performed a surface cleaning process using piranha solution(H2SO4(3):H2O2(1)) to remove the defect-causing surface fluorinated film. APS-Y2O3 and APS-YAG coatings commonly increased the number of defects (pores, cracks) on the coating surface by plasma etching and cleaning processes. As a result, it was confirmed that the generation of contamination particles increased and the breakdown voltage decreased. In particular, in the case of APS-YAG under the same cleaning process conditions, some of the fluorinated film remained and surface defects increased, which accelerated the increase in the number of contamination particles after cleaning. These results suggest that contaminating particles and the breakdown voltage that causes defects in semiconductor devices can be controlled through the optimization of the APS coating process and cleaning process.

  • As the separator becomes thinner, the role of thermal stability becomes more important in ensuring the high capacity of medium- and large-sized lithium-ion secondary batteries. In this study, we researched coating technology to improve the separator's thermal stability. We minimized the coating time by optimizing the design of a vertical two-stage coater that was thin, uniform, and capable of coating on both sides at the same time with a maximum 2㎛ thickness coating layer of fluorinated polymer (PVdF-HFP) on the bare polyethylene (PE) separator, which increased the thermal stability. In addition, during the coating process, a dual-jacket-roll method of drying was developed that increased the drying effectiveness without thermal damage to the separator. We also investigated the thermal stability of the separator manufactured from a coating machine, and studied the battery-applied performance by making a lithium-ion pouch battery.

  • Wettability of solid surfaces with liquids is governed by the chemical properties and the microstructure of the surfaces. We report on the preparation of liquid-repellent surfaces using surface-attached monolayers of perfluorinated polymer molecules on porous silica substrates. A covalent attachment of the polymer molecules to the substrate is achieved by generation of the polymer chains through starting a surface-initiated radical-chain polymerization of a fluorinated monomer. To this, self-assembled monolayers of azo initiators are attached to silica substrates, which are used to kick off the polymerization reaction in situ. The growth of the fluorinated polymer films and the characterization of the obtained surfaces by surface plasmon spectroscopy, XPS, and contact angle measurements is described. It is shown that perfluorinated polymer films can be grown with controlled thicknesses on flat and even on porous silica surfaces, essentially without changing the surface roughness. The combination of the low surface energy coating and the surface porosity allows generation of materials which are both water and oil repellent.

Methyltrimethoxysilane과 Trimethylethoxysilane을 이용한 비불소계 발수 코팅 도막의 제조 (Preparation of Non-Fluorinated Water Repellent Coating Films Using Methyltrimethoxysilane and Trimethylethoxysilane)

  • Methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS)과 trimethylethoxysilane (TMES)을 전구체로 사용하여 비 불소계 발수 코팅 용액을 제조하였다. 이 코팅 용액을 냉연 강판 위에 스핀 코팅하고 열 경화시켜 발수 코팅 도막을 제조 하였다. 이 과정 중 코팅 도막의 소수성에 미치는 TMES/MTMS의 몰 비 영향이 연구되었다. 코팅 도막의 소수성은 접촉각 측정, 표면 형상 분석 및 적외선 분광법을 사용하여 연구되었다. TMES/MTMS의 몰 비를 0에서 30까지 변화 시켰을 때, 코팅되지 않은 냉연강판의 접촉각은 $30^{\circ}$인 반면에 TMES/MTMS의 몰 비가 1인 경우는 접촉각이 $104^{\circ}$로 크게 증가하여 발수성이 향상되었다. 또한 TMES/MTMS의 몰 비가 10, 15, 25, 30인 경우는 각각 접촉각이 $109^{\circ}$, $114^{\circ}$, $117^{\circ}$, $144^{\circ}$로 TMES/MTMS의 몰 비가 증가할수록 냉연강판의 접촉각이 점차 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 이때 코팅 도막의 소수성은 표면 거칠기의 증가와 코팅 표면에서의 메틸 성분의 함량 증가로 인해 향상되었다. 특히 TMES/MTMS의 몰 비가 30인 경우에는 TMES의 메틸기로 인한 발수성뿐만 아니라 표면 입자의 존재로 인해 전체적인 표면 거칠기가 크게 증가하였기 때문에 $144^{\circ}$의 초발수성을 나타내었다.
