This study was carried out to obtain fundamental information on the growth response of interior landscape plants under fluorescent light, sunlight and optical fiber lighting indoors. Saintpaulia ‘Delaware’, ‘Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, Anthurium scherzerianum and Ardisia crenata were examined using light intensity of 5001ux and 1,0001ux of fluorescent light, sunlight and optical fiber lighting in an interior environment. Results of experiments are as follows; 1) Plant growth status showed the best results under optical fiber lighting compared with fluorescent light or sunlight. 2) Plant growth status was better under 1,0001ux light intensity than 5001ux light intensity and in cases of the same light intensity, the highest growth increase was under optical fiber lighting. while it was showed relatively different according to the different plant species between a fluorescent light and sunlight. 3) The deep pinkish red color of Saintpaulia ‘Delaware’flower was obtained first under an optical fiber lighting and a fluorescent light, a sun light in that order. 4) Regarding interred activity, photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate, intercellular CO, water absorption rate showed a similar tendency generally in spite of a little difference. Namely, transpiration rate and intercellular CO, $CO_2$ a absorption rate increased according to increase of photosynthetic rate. 5) Photosynthetic rate of test plants except Anthurium scherzerianum increased according to increase of light intensity and increased highest under optical fiber lighting in the same light intensity condition. Increases differed under fluorescent light and sun light. That of Saineaulia ‘Delaware’and Anthurium scherzerianum increased in the order of optical fiber, fluorescent light and sun light, but that of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana and Ardisia pusilla increased in the order of optical fiber lighting, sun light and fluorescent light. Summing up these results, In visual value or internal health status of all experimental plants we obtained the highest result under an optical fiber lighting. Finally, we need to introduce an optical fiber lighting in interior landscape space as main light source.
Light intensity and spectral characteristics of different types of fluorescent lamps were tested to investigate their possibility as the artificial lighting sources for the close illumination applied in the transplant production factory. Photosynthetic photon flux densitiy(PPF), illuminance and irradiance for all lamps decreased logarithmically with an increase of the vertical distance from the lighting source. The fluorescent lamp specially designed plant growth (PG lamp) showed a maximum spectral irradiance at the wavelength of 660nm. However, it showed lower irradiance than that of a standard fluorescent lamp at the range of wavelength between 500 and 600nm. On the other hand, PG lamp showed higher PPF and lower illuminance than those of the standard fluorescent lamp. The maximum peak of spectral characteristics for both of the single and twin three-bind fluorescent lamps was shorn at the wavelength of 545m and the next peaks were shown at the wavelength of 610nm and 435nm, respectively. Since the red fluorescent lamp has a narrower peak at the wavelength of 660nm, it may be useful for the supplementary red lighting. For three of standard, single three-band and twin three-band fluorescent lamps, the values of conversion factor for converting illuminance to PPF fell within the narrow range from 76 to 791x/$\mu$molㆍm$^{-2}$ ㆍs$^{-l}$ . However, for PG lamp, it was 29.71x/$\mu$molㆍm$^{-2}$ ㆍs$^{-1}$. Also, the values of conversion factor for converting PPF to irradiance of fluorescent lamp used in this study ranged between 4.85 and 5.34$\mu$molㆍm$^{-2}$ ㆍs$^{-1}$/Wㆍm$^{-2}$ .

Silk is a unique natural biopolymer with outstanding biocompatibility, high mechanical strength, and superior optical transparency. Due to its excellent properties, silk has been widely reported as an ideal biomaterial for several biomedical applications. Recently, fluorescent silk protein, a variant of native silk, has been reported as a biophotonic material with the potential for bioimaging and biosensing. Despite the realization of fluorescent silk, the traditional degumming process of fluorescence silk is crude and often results in fluorescence loss. The loss of fluorescent properties is attributed to the sensitivity of silk fibroin to temperature and solvent concentration during degumming. However, there is no comprehensive information on the influence of these processing parameters on fluorescence evolution and decay during fluorescent silk processing. Therefore, we conducted a spectroscopic study on fluorescence decay as a function of temperature, concentration, and duration for fluorescent silk cocoon degumming. Sodium carbonate solution was tested for degumming the fluorescent silk cocoons with different concentrations and temperatures; also, sodium carbonate solution is combined with Alcalase enzyme and triton x-100 to find optimal degumming conditions. Additionally, we conducted a molecular dynamics study to investigate the fundamental effect of temperature on the stability of the fluorescent protein. We observed degumming temperature as the prime source of fluorescent intensity reduction. From the MD study, fluorescence degradation originated from the thermal agitation of fluorescent protein Cα atoms and fluctuations of amino acid residues located in the chromophore region. Overall, degumming fluorescent silk with sodium carbonate and Alcalase enzyme solution at 25 ℃ preserved fluorescence.
Purpose: The necessity for precise manipulation of bioparticles has greatly increased in the fields of bioscience, biomedical, and environmental monitoring. Dielectrophoresis (DEP) is considered to be an ideal technique to manipulate bioparticles. The objective of this study is to develop a DEP microfluidic device that can trap fluorescent beads, which mimic bioparticles, at the low voltage and frequency of the sinusoidal signal supplied to the microfluidic device. Methods: A DEP microfluidic device, which is composed of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) channels and interdigitated electrode networks, is fabricated to trap fluorescent beads. The geometry of the interdigitated electrodes is determined through computational simulation. To determine the optimum voltage and frequency of the sinusoidal signal supplied to the device, the experiments of trapping beads are conducted at various combinations of voltage and frequency. The performance of the DEP microfluidic device is evaluated by investigating the correlation between fluorescent intensities and bead concentrations. Results: The optimum ratio of the widths between the negative and positive electrodes was 1:4 ($20:80{\mu}m$) at a gap of $20{\mu}m$ between the two electrodes. The DEP electrode networks were fabricated based on this geometry and used for the bead trapping experiments. The optimum voltage and frequency of the supplied signal for trapping fluorescent beads were 15 V and 5 kHz, respectively. The fluorescent intensity of the trapped beads increased linearly as the bead concentration increased. The coefficient of determination ($R^2$) between the fluorescent intensity and the bead concentration was 0.989. Conclusions: It is concluded that the microfluidic device developed in this study is promising for trapping bioparticles, such as a cell or virus, if they are conjugated to beads, and their concentration is quantified.
In this paper, the emission properties of electrodeless fluorescent lamp were discussed using the inductively coupled plasma. To transmit the electromagnetic energy into the chamber, a RF power of 13.56 [MHz] was applied to the antenna and considering the Ar gas pressure and the RF electric power change, the emission spectrum, Ar I line, luminance were investigated. At this time, the input parameter for ICP RF plasma, Ar gas pressure and RF power were applied in the range of 10∼60 [mTorr], 10∼300 [W], respectively. From emission intensity and lumnance intensity results, the mode transition from E-mode to H-mode was observed. This implies that this method can be used to find an optimal RF power for efficient light illumination in an electrodeless fluorescent lamp.
Anthracene appended new host compounds have been synthesized by imine reaction. Fluorescent open chain host compounds Trisanthryl-tris(2-aminoethyl)imine 1 was synthesized from the reaction of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine and anthracene-9-carboxaldehyde in EtOH. Tris-10-chloroanthryl-tris(2-aminoethyl)imine 2 was synthesized from tris(2-aminoethyl)amine and 10-chloro-9-anthraldehyde in EtOH. The structures of all reaction product were identified by $^1H$ NMR, $^{13}C$ NMR, GC/MS, FAB Mass, IR spectrum and DSC. Cation complexation behavior was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy measurements. The capability of transition metals cation recognition between fluorescent open chain host compound 1, 2 were investigated with $Co^{2+},\;Ni^{2+}\;and\;Cu^{2+}$. The fluorescence intensity was increased by host compounds corresponding guest cations. The relative order of fluorescence intensity changes were $Co^{2+}>Cu^{2+}>Ni^{2+}$. Compound 2 is very sensitive fluorescent sensor of $Co^{2+}$ ion.
In this paper, We measured an electric and optical characteristics for electrodeless fluorescent lamp system. We used the CCD(charged couple device) and Integrating Sphere Photometer to detect the accurate variation of data and got a characteristic of output voltage and current, luminance, luminous flux etc. And then we come to understand that the efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamps are similar to CFLs(compact fluorescent lamp) or HID(high intensity discharge lamp).

This experiment was carried out using artificial bed soil and LED in the plastic film house(irradiation time: 07:00-17:00/day). Seedlings(n=63 per 3.3 m2) of ginseng was planted on May 17, 2018. LED was combined with red and blue light in a 3:1 ratio and irradiated with different light intensity(40-160 µmol/m2/s). Average air temperature from April to September according to the light intensity test was 20.4℃-20.9℃. Average artificial bed soil temperature was 20.1℃-21.7℃. The test area where fluorescent lamp was irradiated tended to be somewhat lower than the LED irradiation area. The chemical properties of the test soil was as follows. pH levels was 6.6-6.7, EC levels 0.9-1.3 dS/m and OM levels 30.6-32.0%. The available P2O5 contents was 73.3-302.3 mg/kg. Exchangeable cations K and Ca contents were higher than the allowable ranges and mg content was high in the fluorescent lamp treatment. The photometric characteristics of LED light intensity are as follows. The greater the light intensity, the higher the PPFD(Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) value, illuminance and solar irradiation. Fluorescent lamp treatment had high illuminance value, but PPFD and solar irradiation were lower than LED intensity 40 µmol/m2/s treatment. The photosynthetic rate increased(2.0-3.8 µmolCO2/m2/s) as the amount of light intensity increased, peaking at 120 µmol/m2/s, and then decreasing. The SPAD (chlorophyll content) value decreased as the amount of light intensity increased, and was the highest at 36.1 in fluorescent lamp treatment. Ginseng germination started on April 5 and took 14-17 days to germinate. The overall germination rate was 68.8-73.6%. The growth of aerial parts(plant height etc.) were generally excellent in the treatment of light intensity of 120-160 µmol/m2/s. The plant height was 41.9 cm, stem length was 24.1 cm, leaf length was 9.8 cm and stem diameter was 5.6 mm. The growth of underground part (root length etc.) was the best in the treatment with 120 µmol/m2/s of light intensity. Due to the root length was long(24.8 cm) and diameter of taproot was thick(18.7 mm), the fresh root weight was the heaviest at 24.8 g. There were no disease incidence such as Alternaria blight, Gray mold and Anthracnose. Disease of Damping-off caused by Rhizoctonia solani occurred 0.6-1.5% and incidence ratio of rusty root ginseng was 30.8-62.3%. It is believed that the reason for the high incidence of rusty root ginseng is that the amount of field moisture capacity of artificial bed soil is larger than the soil. Leaf discoloration rate was 13.7-32.3%.
The interaction between azo dyes and cationic surfactant was studied by absorption spectroscopy and fluorescent Rayleigh scattering. In order to presume the structure of formed micelle, methyl orange and ethyl orange as azo dyes and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as cationic surfactant were used. Infomations about interaction parameter including absorption maxima, optimal conditions, and intensity of fluorescent Rayleigh scattering were obtained. When azo dyes and CTAB are formed 1 : 1 complex, it showed the strongest intensity of fluorescent Rayleigh scattering. On going from mixed micelle to homomicell, It suggests successively several intermediate steps of complex structure which can be distinguished clearly from one another.
