A clean technology development using the molybdenum dissolution reaction with hydrogen peroxide/UV/Ozone ($오존/UV/H_2O_2$를 이용한 몰리브덴(Mo) 용해 반응에 따른 청정기술 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In the tungsten industry as light source material, tungsten filament which used as light source material could form after molybdenumwire which used as the center supporter for coil shape tungsten wire was removed. This process uses hydrogen peroxide, Ozone and UV(Ultraviolet)Lamp, for the quantity of hydrogen peroxide decrease. The results were as follows : 1. The Developed Study for SMPS to Protect the Noise and Inrush Current at LED Lighting Source (LED 광원에서 잡음 및 돌입전류 방지를 위한 스위칭모드 전원공급 장치 (SMPS) 개발 연구)

  • This Study focused on the development of SMPS (Switching Mode Power Supply) to supply the constant votage and current nevertheless LED fluorescent Light generated the electric noise (with Harmonics) and Inrush current at instant time of turn-on and off. Recently, according to the Green policy in government, the LED fluorescent Lighter showed the rapidly increasing tend as indoor and outdoor Lighter. But, because of costs, LED fluorescent Light not considered and neglected the following items; power factor, efficiency, Harmonics and Inrush current. So, we are developed the SMPS about 3 key issues as follows: 1st, power factor and efficiency is 85%. 2nd, the switching noisy by harmonic is minimized. 3rd, the Inrush current at turn on and off time is reduced the minimum 0.3 A after $100{\mu}sec$ on turnon time. The proposed SMPS adjusted by LNK 409 driver (included the high frequency modulation function). Although, the developed SMPS maintained the about 85% of power factor and efficiency. but, the SMPS must be generated low heat by the variation of minute load current at switching timing. To improve the above weak point, the developed SMPS have the feedback monitoring circuit between input side and output side to maintain the power factor and efficiency. Also, we are studied the time-constant of control circuit to output the constant voltage and current nevertheless the load disturbance of LED lighting. The LED fluorescent Light of 46W is checked the above items.

Study on Analysis of Characteristics of Illuminance and Luminance Distribution of LED Luminaires (LED 조명기구의 조도.휘도분포 특성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study is intended to compare physical properties of fluorescent luminaires with ones of LED luminaires so as to analyze fundamental characteristics of LED luminaires. For this, a comparative analysis of uniformity ratio of illuminance and luminance distribution of these two luminaires was made, and materials for applying LED luminaires to interior construction space were prepared. This study was carried out in four stages. First, a theoretical review on LED illumination light source was made compared with the existing luminaires. Second, a mock-up to control experimental variables to meet the objective of this study was manufactured. Third uniformity ratio of illuminance and luminance distribution of each luminaire were measured by using the mock-up. Fourth, a comparative analysis of uniformity ratio of illuminance and characteristics of luminance distribution of the existing fluorescent luminaires and LED ones was made. As a result of the study, the uniformity ratio of illuminance of LED luminaires, 0.559, was higher than one of the existing fluorescent luminaires, 0.522. Namely, it was shown that illuminance distribution of LED luminaires was uniform and global diffuse was good. As a result of measuring luminance distribution, it was found that luminance distribution of LED luminaires was more uniform than one of the existing fluorescent luminaires. The maximum luminance of fluorescent luminaires and LED luminaires over the wall was $180.6[cd/m^2]$ and $155.26[cd/m^2]$ respectively. Namely, the maximum luminance of fluorescent luminaires was higher than one of LED luminaires. The average luminance of fluorescent luminaires and LED luminaires was $44.32[cd/m^2]$ and $58.65[cd/m^2]$. Like this, the average luminance of LED luminaires was higher than one of fluorescent luminaires. Considering these results, it's thought that LED luminaires can give a person in the room a more comfortable working environment than fluorescent luminaires.

  • LCD panel need BLU(Back Light Unit) that is outside source of light because can not emit light voluntarily. BLU is used in LCD module and is used in tester that examine LCD panel's badness. Lately, BLU had changed from CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) to LED(Light-Emitting Diode) fast. CCFL need extra-high tension power and produce much heat and is difficult to keep fixed brightness. LED is few electric power wastage and keeps fixed brightness. But, BLU that is used to detector that examine the LCD module is using CCFL until recently. This paper develops LED BLU that can examine LCD panel's badness. Also, this manufactures LED BLU to 24 inch size to examine all LCD panels(12~24 inch), and develops so that LED BLU may operate according to LCD panel's size.

  • Researchers have used the visual criteria to compare the effectiveness of fingerprint enhancement techniques. However, since the visual criteria is subjective, bias can occur. Therefore, many researchers have tried to make the criteria objective using the contrast index (CI). However, there is a constraint that the CI was only validated on inked fingerprints or color-change fingerprints. In this study, we compared enhancement of fluorescence fingerprints on colored papers using the CI. The CI values differ according to the color of the background, reagent, and light source, even though the same standard fingerprints were used. Through the comparison of values, we could compare the enhancement of fluorescence fingerprints according to these factors. When visual evaluation criteria were used, the same peak score was obtained regardless of the reagent and light source. However, we could get a more detailed score comparison in this study using the CI. Therefore, it is confirmed that for comparison of enhancement of fluorescence fingerprints, the CI can be used as a basis for determining which light source and reagent are appropriate according to the background.

Desulfurization efficiency in photobioreactors dependent on the irradiation type of light sources (광생물반응기내 광조사 유형별 탈황 효율)

  • Removal rates of hydrogen sulfide were investigated to known effects of several light sources with external and internal irradiation on the desulfurization using C. thiosulfatophilum. In the case of internal illumination system, optical-fiber photobioreactor was applied to increase the light availability. Furthermore, sunlight was used as the main light energy in the daytime and metal-halide lamp was applied as an additional light energy at night. Light energy of 99% was saved by the application of the LED's array in comparison with the incandescent light source. $H_2S$ removal rates at 5,000 lux in a 4-L photobioreactor were shown as 0.040, 0.138, 0.136, and 0.134 (${\mu}mol$ $H_2S/min$)/(mg protein/L), respectively, in the following order of light sources, when several light sources such as fluorescent, energy-saving, incandescent, halogen lamp, and filtered light at 460 nm were applied. Removal rate per unit cell concentration with the internal light diffused optical-fibers increased about 1 six times as much as that with the external light sources. Removal rate per unit cell concentration, using sunlight in the daytime and a metal-halide lamp at night, was 0.41 less than 0.869 (${\mu}mol$ $H_2S/min$)/(mg protein/L) using a 400 W metal-halide lamp day and night, since the automatic sunlight collection system can transmit the light intensity as only 10% of that with a metal-halide lamp.

Effect of Lighting Condition of Eco Energy LED on Growth and Flowering Quality of 'Viking' Rose (친환경에너지 LED 광 조건에 따른 '바이킹' 장미의 생장과 개화품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate effects of various eco light sources with various lighting distance in 'Viking' rose (Rosa spp.) on the growth and flowering quality to be applied for farm sites. Treatment included 10-, 20-, and 30-RL (-BL, -RBL, -FL, and -IL), which referred to red LED (blue LED, red+blue LED, fluorescent, and incandescent) lighting at 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm respectively, apart from flowers. NL referred to natural light as a control. Growth and flowering of 'Viking' rose were non-destructively measured at 4, 6, and 8 weeks after treatment (WAT). FL treatment increased plant height at 4, 6, and 8 WAT, regardless of lighting distance, with the shortest height observed for the NL-treated flowers. 30 RL treatment also increased plant height at 6 and 8 WAT. Stem diameter and number of leaves were not significantly different for all the treatments at 8 WAT, with the lowest values observed for RBL treated-flowers among the light source treatments. Number of root was the greatest for the 30 BL-treated flowers (10.0) but the fewest for the 30 FL (4.7). Length of flower neck at 6 WAT was the extended by 6~7 cm in the 10 FL and 20 FL treatments as well as by 5~6 cm in the 20 RL and 30 RL treatments, inducing 100% of flowering. NL increased $a^*$ (29) of flower color, with the lowest value (10) observed for 20 RL. All things considered, 30 RL would be the best interaction treatment of source and distance of eco light to improve plant height and flowering quality of 'Viking' rose.

Effect of light on conidial formation in several anthracnose fungi (몇가지 탄저병균의 분생포자형성에 미치는 광선의 영향)

  • Effect of light on conidial formation of Colletotrichum panacicola, C. gloeosporioides, C. runcatum and C. nicotianae was examined on potato dextrose agar on which each conidial suspension was seeded. The light source was Mitsubishi day light fluorescent lamps wi th an intensity of 100-120 ft-c at the colony surface. The treatments were (i)constant light, (ii) constant darkness, and (iii) alternating light (11hr.) and darkness {13hr.) at $26\{\circ}C\pm2$. With the exception of C. nicotianae, constant light gave the greatest sporulation over that obtained in the other two treatments; there were on significant differences in number of sporulation between under constant darkness and alternating light and darkness. C. nicotianae resulted in maximum. inter mediate and minimum sporulation under alternating light and darkness. constant darkness and constant light, respectively. These differences were statistically significant at $5\%$ level. C. truncatum and C. nicotianae produced abundant conidia in the entire test; C. gloeosporioides was intermediate, and C. panacicola was the least. Differences in number of sporulation due to light. organisms. and t he interaction of these two were all statistically significant.

Enhanced pectinase and β-glucosidase enzyme production by a Bacillus subtilis strain under blue light-emitting diodes

  • Bacillus subtilis B22, a chemotrophic and aerobic bacterial strain was isolated from homemade kimchi, identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. B22 was primarily screened by biochemical, carbon source utilization tests. B22 was used to produce pectinase and ${\beta}$-glucosidase by submerged fermentation under different light sources. B22 was incubated in pectin media and basal media (pH 7.0) under blue, green, red and white light-emitting diodes (LEDs), fluorescent white light, and in darkness at $37^{\circ}C$, orbital shaker 150 rpm for 24 hours. Fermentation under blue LEDs maximized pectinase production ($71.59{\pm}1.6U/mL$ at 24 h) and ${\beta}$-glucosidase production ($56.31{\pm}1.6U/mL$ at 24 h). Further, the production of enzyme increased to pectinase ($156{\pm}1.28U/mL$) and ${\beta}$-glucosidase ($172{\pm}1.28U/mL$) with 3% glucose as a carbon source. Activity and stability of the partially purified enzymes were higher at pH 6.0 to 8.0 and $25-55^{\circ}C$. The effect on the metal ions $Na^+$ and $K^+$ and (moderateactivity) $Mn^{2+}$ and $Ni^{2+}$ increased activity, while $Hg^{2+}$, $Cu^{2+}$, $Fe^{2+}$, and $Fe^{2+}$ inhibited activity. EDTA, phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride and 5,5-dithiobis (2-nitrobenzoicacid) reduced activity, while tetrafluoroethylene and 1,10-phenanthroline inhibited activity. The amylase was highly tolerant of the surfactants TritonX-100, Tween-20, Tween-80 and compatible with organic solvents methanol, ethanol, isoamylalcohol, isopropanol, t-butylalcohol and the oxidizing agents hydrogen peroxide, sodium perborate and sodium hypochlorite, although potassium iodide and ammonium persulfate reduced activity. These properties suggest utility of pectinase and ${\beta}$-glucosidase produced by B. subtilis B22 under blue LED-mediated fermentation for industrial applications.

Effect of Light and Temperature on the Sporulation and Mycelial Growth of Mycosphaerella fragariae (딸기 반엽병균의 분생포자형성과 균사생장에 미치는 광선과 온도의 영향)

  • Effect of light and temperature on the sporulation and mycelial growth by 4 strains of Mycosphaerella fragariae was examined. The light source was day light fluorescent lamps with an intensity of 2000 Lux at the colony surface. The treatment were constant light, alternating light(10hr) and darness (14h.) and constant darkness af $15^{\circ}C,\; 22^{\circ}C\; and\; 30^{\circ}C$ 1. Of the 4 strains tested, alternating light and darkness at $22^{\circ}C\;and\;15^{\circ}C$ gave the greatest sroducedtion, constant light in intermediate, constant darkness in minimum, but darkness at $30^{\circ}C$ produced abundant conidia over that obtained in the other two treatment. Differences in number of sporulation due to light, strains and the interaction of these two were all statistically significant. 2. There were not on significant differences in amount of mycelial growth due to light, but amount of mycelial growth of$S_3$ strain were the nest abundant among the 4 strains.
