The Simplest Flowchart Stating the Mechanisms for Organic Xenobiotics-induced Toxicity: Can it Possibly be Accepted as a "Central Dogma" for Toxic Mechanisms?

  • Xenobiotics causing a variety of toxicity in biological systems could be classified as two types, inorganic and organic chemicals. It is estimated that the organic xenobiotics are responsible for approximately 80~90% of chemical-induced toxicity in human population. In the class for toxicology, we have encountered some difficulties in explaining the mechanisms of toxicity caused especially by organic chemicals. Here, a simple flowchart was introduced for explaining the mechanism of toxicity caused by organic xenobiotics, as the central dogma of molecular biology. This flowchart, referred to as a central dogma, was described based on a view of various aspects as follows: direct-acting chemicals vs. indirect-acting chemicals, cytochrome P450-dependent vs. cytochrome P450-independent biotransformation, reactive intermediates, reactivation, toxicokinetics vs. toxicodynamics, and reversibility vs. irreversibility. Thus, the primary objective of this flowchart is to help better understanding of the organic xenobiotics-induced toxic mechanisms, providing a major pathway for toxicity occurring in biological systems.

정규화된 우세한 기울기 벡터를 기반으로 변형에 강건한 오프라인 필기 순서도 기호인식 알고리즘 (Off-line Handwritten Flowchart Symbol Recognition Algorithm Robust to Variations Based the Normalized Dominant Slope Vector)

  • 논문에서는 정규화된 우세한 기울기 벡터들을 기반으로 직선 획들을 추출하고, 직선 획들의 교차영역의 형태와 세기에 의한 변형에 강건한 오프라인 필기 순서도 기호인식 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘에서는 먼저 곡선으로만 구성되는 연결기호들을 별도의 특징을 사용하여 인식하고, 직선 획들이 있는 다른 기호들은 정규화된 우세한 기울기 벡터 군집의 최소 외접사각형들을 구하여 직선 획들을 추출하고, 이들 사각형들의 교차영역 형태와 세기를 구하여 순서도 기호를 인식한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 확인하기 위하여 컴퓨터 프로그램의 순서도에 주로 사용되는 10종류의 순서도 기호 198개를 취득하여 실험한 결과 99.5%의 인식률을 얻었고, 변형에 강건하게 순서도 기호들이 인식됨을 알 수 있어서 제안된 알고리즘이 오프라인 필기 순서도 기호인식에 매우 효과적임을 확인하였다.

언플러그드 순서도 학습이 초등학생의 컴퓨팅 사고력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Unplugged Flowchart Learning on Computational Thinking)

  • 현재 소프트웨어 교육에서 순서도 학습의 필요성은 지속적으로 논의되어 왔으나 주로 학습 제안·설계 방안 등의 연구가 대부분이었다. 본 연구에서는 초등학교 5학년을 대상으로 언플러그드 순서도 학습 프로그램을 개발하고 실제 수업에 적용하여 컴퓨팅 사고력에 어떠한 영향을 미칠 수 있는지 분석하였다. 5학년 학생 17명을 대상으로 학습자의 수준에 맞춘 언플러그드 순서도 관련 학습을 8가지 주제(총 16차시)의 수업으로 진행하였으며, 학습과정에서 발생한 산출물과 참여관찰 및 인터뷰 자료를 바탕으로 질적 연구를 수행하였다. 질적 연구를 보완하기 위하여 사전·사후 검사로 컴퓨팅 사고력 검사를 실시하였으며 수업 후 추상화, 문제분해, 알고리즘, 자동화, 데이터처리의 5가지 영역에서 컴퓨팅 사고력이 신장하였음을 확인하였다. 특히 추상화와 자동화 영역에서 학생들이 높은 향상을 이룬 것으로 판단된다. 수업시간에 교사-학습자, 학습자-학습자 간에 다양한 상호작용이 관찰되었으며 학습자의 태도 및 인식 변화에도 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and to evaluate the Computerized Nursing Diagnosis/ Intervention System for Nutritional and Eliminative Problems for clinical application. Each stage was processed based on the System Development Life Cycle. At the Strategy Planning Stage, valid nursing diagnoses and interventions were chosen. At the System Analysis Stage, a nursing diagnosis and intervention flowchart was drawn up. At the System Design Stage, a system was developed based on the flowchart and named the Nursing Diagnosis/Intervention System. The Nursing Diagnosis/Intervention System consisted of the Patient's Basic Information, Patient's Nursing Process, Nursing Process, and Code Registration. Each element in flowchart was coded and made into a database. The System was used and evaluated. A total of 30 cases were collected. After the application, the nurses evaluated the System using a 5 point Likert scale. Every item was scored at three points or more and 13 out of 17 items were scored at four points or more, thus the Nursing Diagnosis/Intervention System that was developed in this study was regarded as a useful one.

위암환자를 위한 간호 데이터베이스 개발 (Development of the Nursing Database for Gastric Cancer Patients)

  • Purpose : This study was to develop the nursing database for gastric cancer patients for clinical application. Method : Nursing data that development of this data base is comprehensive connected with gastric cancer patient nursing process frame to foundation as classification. Result : Each stage was processed based on the System Development Life Cycle. At the Strategy Planning stage, gastric cancer patient nursing process were analyzed. At the system Analysis Stage, database flowchart was drawn up based on frame of nursing process was drawn up. At the system Design Stage, a system was developed based on the flowchart and named the Nursing Database. The Nursing Database consisted of the patient's Basic Information, Patient's Nursing History, Discharge summary, Nursing Assessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Nursing Intervention/activity, Nursing Evaluation, Statics, Code Registration. Each element in flowchart was coded and made into a database. Nursing Assessment classified according to Gorden's Health Pattern Typology, and nursing diagnosis draws the standard 27 name of Hanguls and connected with nursing assessment. Nursing intervention and nursing activity draw 192 of thing that present in NIC, connected this with nursing assessment. Nursing evaluation is linked with nursing assessment, diagnosis and intervention by achievement availability of nursing goals. Conclusion : The biggest advantage of this database nursing process that can manage nursing information exactly and rapidly to foundation be.

  • Functional safety is the part of the overall safety of a system that depends on the system or equipment operating correctly in response to its inputs, including the safe management of likely operator errors, hardware failures, systematic failures, and environmental changes. One of the essential concepts of functional safety is Safety Integrity Level(SIL). It is defined as a relative level of risk-reduction provided by a safety function, or to specify a target level of risk reduction. In this paper, each element of SIL assessment will be defined. Based on each element, specific process of SIL selection will be established by using flowchart. The flowchart provides a SIL assessment guideline for functional safety engineers. The proposed theory will be verified by applying to a oil refining plant for SIL assessment.

  • In this study, we developed a fog classification algorithm to classify fog type based on fog generation mechanism. For the analysis period of 1986-2005, 15,748 fog events had been reported from the 40 observational sites in South Korea. Thus, practically, it is almost impossible to individually classify the fog type of the whole fog events occurred in South Korea manually. In this study, the characteristics of fog during the research period were investigated and the fog classification flowchart were developed base on the analysis, and the fog classification algorithm was applied for the classification of fogs occurred at the observational sites. Finally, the classified fog-type and hindcasted fog occurance results obtained from the flowchart were evaluated for verification.

  • This paper describes the symptoms with the failure causes of pole transformers analyzed at KEPCO branch offices' request in 2001, and ultimately aims for devising proper countermeasures against the failures. The failure causes are generally divided into problems in manufacturing, mounting and operating. The pole transformers encounter the failure with unique mechanisms. To verify the mechanisms to failures and help devise proper countermeasures, a flowchart is proposed based on the authors' experience and foreign case studies. The failure causes of pole transformers can be analyzed more exactly by using the flowchart.

  • In this paper, we describe the generation method of interface logic which replace between IP & IP handshaking signal with asynchronous logic circuit. Especially, we suggest the new asynchronous sequential "Waveform to VHDL" code creation algorithm by flow chart conversion : Wave2VHDL - if only mixed asynchronous timing waveform is presented the level type input and pulse type input for handshaking, we convert waveform to flowchart and then replace with VHDL code according to converted flowchart. Also, we confirmed that asynchronous electronic circuits are created by applying extracted VHDL source code from suggest algorithm to conventional domestic/abroad CAD Tool, Finally, we assured the simulation result and the suggest timing diagram are identical.
