부유식 해양플랜트 다점 계류라인의 피로손상모델 비교 (Comparison of Fatigue Damage Models of Spread Mooring Line for Floating Type Offshore Plant)

  • The mooring lines of a floating type offshore plant are known to show wide banded and bimodal responses. These phenomena come from a combination of low and high frequency random load components, which are derived from the drift-restoring motion characteristic and wind- sea, respectively. In this study, fatigue models were applied to predict the fatigue damage of mooring lines under those loads, and the result were compared. For this purpose, seven different fatigue damage prediction models were reviewed, including mathematical formula. A FPSO (floating, production, storage, and offloading) with a $4{\times}4$ spread catenary mooring system was selected as a numerical model, which was already installed at an offshore area of West Africa. Four load cases with different combinations of wave and wind spectra were considered, and the fatigue damage to each mooring line was estimated. The rain flow fatigue damage for the time process of the mooring tension response was compared with the results estimated by all the fatigue damage prediction models. The results showed that both Benasciutti-Tovo and JB models could most accurately predict wide banded bimodal fatigue damage to a mooring system.

  • This paper presents the concept design procedure of a floating-type combined renewable energy platform based on hydrodynamic analyses and is focused on the fatigue design of taut-type mooring lines of the platform. Two types of combined renewable energy platforms are considered: a combination of wind turbine, wave turbine and photovoltaic energy plant and a combination of wind turbine, current turbine and photovoltaic energy plant. The basic configurations are conceptually determined from the understanding of floating offshore plants, while the main dimensions have been determined based on a hydrostatic calculation. Fully coupled hydrodynamic analyses have been carried out to identify the motion characteristics of the floating body and the tension histories of the mooring lines. The tension history is used for the fatigue life prediction based on the rain-flow cycle counting method. For the fatigue life prediction, tension life curves from API and the Palmgren-Miner rule are employed.

  • The abundant nutrients contained in deep seawater are delivered by natural upwellings from the deep sea to the surface sea. However, the natural upwelling phenomenon is limited to specific areas of the sea; in other areas, the thermocline separates the surface sea from the lower layer. Thus, the surface layer is often deficient in nutritive salts, causing the deterioration of its primary productivity and ultimately leading to an imbalance in the marine ecosystem. Without a consistent supply of nitrogenous nutritive salts, they are absorbed by phytoplankton, resulting in a considerable problem in primary productivity. To solve this issue, a floating type of artificial upwelling system is suggested to artificially pump up, distribute, and diffuse deep seawater containing rich nutritive salts. The key technologies for developing such a floating artificial upwelling system are a floating offshore structure with a large diameter riser, self-supplying energy system, density current generating system, method for estimating the emission and absorption of CO2, and way to evaluate the primary production variation. Strengthening the primary production of the sea by supplying deep seawater to the sea surface will result in a sea environment with abundant fishery resources.

해양플랜트용 라티스 붐 크레인의 최적 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the optimal design of lattice boom crane for offshore plant)

  • In manufacturing An offshore plant is a structure that produces resources buried in the seabed. It can be classified into fixed, floating, and hybrid methods depending on the installation method. In particular, the Lattice boom type crane is typically used because it is used for a long time in the sea and moves to other seas, which is less affected by wind. In this study, the crane was designed by using three-step optimization design in the early stage of the design of Lattice boom crane for offshore plant. Finite element analysis was performed to verify the safety factor, deflection, buckling coefficient and fatigue life of the designed crane and the results were verified.

  • Specification selection, Layout, specifications and combinations of Power Drives, and Ship motions were studied for FGPP(Floating Gas-fired Power Plants), which are still needed in areas such as the Caribbean, Latin America, and Southeast Asia where electricity is not sufficiently supplied. From this study, the optimal equipment layout in ships was derived. In addition, the difference between engine and turbine was verified through LCOE(Levelized Cost of Energy) comparison according to the type and combination of Power Drives. Analysis of Hs(Significant Height of wave) and Tp(spectrum Peak Period of wave) for places where this FGPP will be tested or applied enables design according to wave characteristics in Brazil and Indonesia. Normalized Sloshing Pressures of FGPP and LNG Carrier are verified using a sloshing analysis program, which is CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) software developed by ABS(American Bureau of Shipping). Power Transmission System is studied with Double bus with one Circuit Breaker Topology. A nd the CFD analysis allowed us to calculate linear roll damping coefficients for more accurate full load conditions and ballast conditions. Through RAO(Response Amplitude Operator) analysis, we secured data that could minimize the movement of ships according to the direction of waves and ship placement by identifying the characteristics of large movements in the beam sea conditions. The FGPP has been granted an AIP(Approval in Principle) from a classification society, the ABS.

10MW급 부유식 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템 플랫폼 초기설계를 위한 위상최적화 응용 (Topology Optimization Application for Initial Platform Design of 10 MW Grade Floating Type Wave-wind Hybrid Power Generation System)

  • 본 연구에서는 10 MW급 부유식 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템의 플랫폼 초기 개념설계를 위해 유한요소해석 기반 위상 최적화를 검토하였다. 실제 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템 플랫폼의 위상최적화를 수행하기 전에 단순화된 구조설계 문제를 이용하여 효율적인 위상최적화 이론을 확인하고자 밀도법과 균질화설계법의 두 가지 위상최적화 이론을 적용하였다. 단순화된 설계 문제의 결과로부터 균질화설계법 이론을 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템의 플랫폼 위상최적화에 적용하였다. 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템의 플랫폼 개념설계를 위해서 유한요소해석 모델을 생성하고 설치해역의 해양환경하중을 고려하여 구조해석을 수행하였다. 설계파 및 조류와 같은 해양환경하중으로부터 기인하는 플랫폼 상의 압력과 계류삭의 인장력을 산출하기 위하여 동수력학 해석을 수행하였다. 구조해석을 위한 하중조건은 부유체 동수력학 해석으로부터의 결과와 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템 중량을 고려하였고, 경계조건은 관성제거법을 사용하여 구현하였다. 밀도법 기반 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템 플랫폼의 위상최적화 결과로부터 개념설계 단계에서 주요 구조부재의 배치방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구결과로부터 위상최적화는 부유식 파력-풍력 복합발전 시스템과 같은 새로운 형식의 해양구조물 개발에 있어서 주요 구조부재 배치의 개념설계에 대해 유용한 설계도구임을 확인하였다.

  • 최근 생산 부분에 집중되어 있던 국내 해양플랜트 산업구조를 엔지니어링 분야로 확대하기 위한 노력이 지속되어왔다. 하지만 부유식 해양플랜트 엔지니어링 기술의 핵심 중 하나인 시간대역에서의 운동해석의 경우 국외 회사에서 제공되는 정보에 거의 전적으로 의존하여 왔다. 특히 동적 위치 유지 시스템은 초기 설계에서 해외 선진사가 제공하는 정보에 기반하며, 그 결과를 선형에 반영하기 위해서는 시간적으로나 비용 면에서 많은 손실을 감수해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 동적위치유지시스템 (Dynamic Positioning System, DPS)을 사용하는 부유식 해양구조물의 시간대역 운동 해석에 필요한 프로그램의 프레임워크를 다룬다. 개발된 프레임워크는 시간대역 해석을 쉽게 수행할 수 있도록 해석에 필요한 입력 데이터를 생성하고, DPS의 제어 알고리즘 및 성능을 평가할 수 있도록 모듈화 하였다. 이를 통해 DPS의 배치 및 용량결정과 여러 가지 제어 알고리즘의 테스트가 쉽게 이루어지도록 하였다. 실제 모델 선박을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 개발된 프레임워크의 실효성을 검증하였으며 전체 작업에 걸리는 시간이 50% 이상 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

Carbon Nanotube Film을 이용한 액체 전기화학 센서 (Liquid electrochemical sensors using carbon nanotube film)

  • We studied electrochemical sensors using printed carbon nanotube (CNT) film on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate. Multiwalled CNT films were printed on a PET substrate to study its feasibility as hazardous and noxious substances (HNS) detection sensor. The printed CNT film (PCF) with a 50 ㎛ thickness exhibited a specific resistance of 230 ohm. To determine the optimum sensor structure, a resistance-type PCF sensor (R-type PCF sensor) and a conductive-type PCF sensor (C-type PCF sensor) were fabricated and compared using diluted NH3 droplets with various concentrations. The response magnitude, response time, sensitivity, linearity, and limit of detection (LOD) were compared, and it was concluded that the C-type PCF sensor exhibited superior performance. By applying a C-Type PCF sensor, we confirmed the detection performance of 12 types of floating HNS and the response of the sensor with selectivity according to the degree of polarity.
