Solder paste is widely used as a conductive adhesive in the electronics industry. In this paper, nano and microsized mixed lead-free solder powder (Sn-Ag-Cu) is used to manufacture solder paste. The purpose of this paper is to improve the storage stability using different types of solvents that are used in fabricating the solder paste. If a solvent of sole acetate is used, the nano sized solder powder and organic acid react and form a Sn-Ag-Cu malonate. These formed malonates create fatty acid soaps. The fatty acid soaps absorb the solvents and while the viscosity of the solder paste rises, the storage stability and reliability decrease. When ethylene glycol, a dihydric alcohol, is used the fatty acid soaps and ethylene glycol react, preventing the further creation of the fatty acid soaps. The prevention of gelation results in an improvement in the solder paste storage ability.
Among Internet of things (IoT) applications, the most demanding requirements for the widespread realization of many IoT visions are security and low power. In terms of security, IoT applications include tasks that are rarely addressed before such as secure computation, trusted sensing, and communication, privacy, and so on. These tasks ask for new and better techniques for the protection of data, software, and hardware. An integral part of hardware cryptographic primitives are secret keys and unique IDs. Physical Unclonable Functions(PUF) are a unique class of circuits that leverage the inherent variations in manufacturing process to create unique, unclonable IDs and secret keys. In this paper, we propose a low power Arbiter PUF circuit with low error rate and high reliability compared with conventional arbiter PUFs. The proposed PUF utilizes a power gating structure to save the power consumption in sleep mode, and uses a razor flip-flop to increase reliability. PUF has been designed and implemented using a FPGA and a ASIC chip (a 0.35 um technology). Experimental results show that our proposed PUF solves the metastability problem and reduce the power consumption of PUF compared to the conventional Arbiter PUF. It is expected that the proposed PUF can be used in systems required low power consumption and high reliability such as low power encryption processors and low power biomedical systems.

A CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) mounted on mobile appliances requires low power consumption due to limitations of the battery life cycle. In order to reduce the power consumption of CIS, we propose novel power reduction techniques such as a data flip-flop circuit with leakage current elimination and a low power single slope analog-to-digital (A/D) converter with a sleep-mode comparator. Based on 0.13 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process, the chip satisfies QVGA resolution (320 ${\times}$ 240 pixels) that the cell pitch is 2.25 um and the structure is a 4-Tr active pixel sensor. From the experimental results, the performance of the CIS has a 10-b resolution, the operating speed of the CIS is 16 frame/s, and the power dissipation is 25 mW at a 3.3 V(analog)/1.8 V(digital) power supply. When we compare the proposed CIS with conventional ones, the power consumption was reduced by approximately 22% in the sleep mode, and 20% in the active mode.
The proposed optical transmitter is composed of FF(flip flop) , PLL (phase locked loop), reference clock generator, serializer and LD driver 10x250 Mb/s data arrays are translated to the 2.5 Gb/s data signal by serializer. In this case, 1 data bus is allocated usually as a reference clock for synchronization. In this proposed optical transmitter, 125 MHz reference clock is generated from 10x250 Mb/s data arrays by reference clock generator. From this method. absent of reference clock bus is available and more data transmission become possible. To achieve high speed operation, the serializer circuit is designed as two stacks. For 10:1 serialization, 10 clocks that have 1/10 lambda differences is essential, so the VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) composed of 10 delay buffers is designed. PLL is for runing at 250 MHz, and dual PFD(phase frequency detector) is adopted for fast locking time. The optical transmitter is designed by using 0.35 um CMOS technology.
Row hammering is a phenomenon in which bit flips occur in adjacent rows when accessing a particular row continuously, causing data damage, security problems, and poor computing performance. This paper analyzes the cause and response method of row hammering through TCAD simulation in 2ynm DRAM. In the experiment, the row hammering is reproduced while changing the parameters of the trap and the device structure, and the trap density, temperature. It analyzes the relationship with Active Wisdom, etc. As a result, it was confirmed that changes in trap parameters and device structures directly affect ΔVcap/pulse. This enables a fundamental understanding of low hammering and finding countermeasures, and can contribute to improving the stability and security of DRAM.
The tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is considered a promising anticancer agent due to its unique ability to induce cancer cell death having only negligible effects on normal cells. However, many cancer cells tend to be resistant to TRAIL. In this study, we investigated the effects and molecular mechanisms of sodium butyrate (SB), a histone deacetylase inhibitor, in sensitizing TRAIL-induced apoptosis in 5637 human bladder cancer cells. Our results indicated that co-treatment with SB and TRAIL significantly increased the apoptosis induction, compared with treatment with either agent alone. Co-treatment with SB and TRAIL effectively increased the cell-surface expression of death receptor (DR) 5, but not DR4, which was associated with the inhibition of cellular Fas-associated death domain (FADD)-like interleukin-1β-converting enzyme (FLICE) inhibitory protein (c-FLIP). Furthermore, the activation of caspases (caspase-3, -8 and -9) and degradation of poly(ADP-ribose) were markedly increased in 5637 cells co-treated with SB and TRAIL; however, the synergistic effect was perfectly attenuated by caspase inhibitors. We also found that combined treatment with SB and TRAIL effectively induced the expression of pro-apoptotic Bax, cytosolic cytochrome c and cleave Bid to truncated Bid (tBid), along with down-regulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-xL expression. These results collectively suggest that a combined regimen of SB plus TRAIL may offer an effective therapeutic strategy for safely and selectively treating TRAIL-resistant bladder cancer cells.

Tsunami take away life, wash houses away and bring devastation to social infrastructures such as breakwaters, bridges and ports. The targeted coastal structure object in this study can be damaged mainly by the tsunami force together with foundation ground failure due to scouring and liquefaction. The increase of excess pore water pressure composed of oscillatory and residual components may reduce effective stress and, consequently, the seabed may liquefy. If liquefaction occurs in the seabed, the structure may sink, overturn, and eventually increase the failure potential. In this study, the solitary wave was generated using 2D-NIT(Two-Dimensional Numerical Irregular wave Tank) model, and the dynamic wave pressure acting on the seabed and the estimated surface boundary of the vertical revetment. Simulation results were used as an input data in a finite element computer program(FLIP) for elasto-plastic seabed response. The time and spatial variations in excess pore water pressure, effective stress, seabed deformation, structure displacement and liquefaction potential in the seabed were estimated. From the results of the analysis, the stability of the vertical revetment was evaluated.

Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) has been proposed as a potent tool to trigger apoptosis in cancer therapy. However, as many types of cancer cells remain resistant towards TRAIL-induced cytotoxicity, several combined therapy approaches aimed to sensitize cells to TRAIL have been developed. Genistein, a natural isoflavonoid phytoestrogen, has been shown to have anticancer activity by inducing cell cycle arrest at G2M phase as well as apoptosis in various cancer cell lines. In the present study, we showed that treatment with TRAIL in combination with subtoxic concentrations of genistein sensitized U937 human leukemia cells to TRAIL-mediated apoptosis. Combined treatment with genistein and TRAIL effectively activated caspases through Bid truncation (tBid) and down-regulation of cellular caspase-8 (FLICE)-like inhibitory proteinL ($cFLIP_L$). However, the apoptotic effects of co-treatment with genistein and TRAIL were significantly inhibited by specific caspase inhibitors, which demonstrates the important role of caspases in apoptosis induced by genistein and TRAIL. Overall, our results indicate that genistein can potentiate TRAIL-induced apoptosis through down-regulation of $cFLIP_L$ and up-regulation of pro-apoptotic tBid proteins.
