In this study, we evaluated the uniformity of deposition rate and particle size distributions of the variable rate application technique using the unmanned rotorcraft by measuring the spray pattern according to path location in the range of spraying flight. The coefficient of variation (CV) of the lateral coverage rate for the overlapped distribution with the spray swath of 3.6 m in both guidance and auto-pilot flight modes maintaining constant flight speed was about 30% and the CV of the coverage rate by the flight path location was extremely small. Therefore, it was assessed that the variable rate application technology compensating for the variation of ground speed was superior in terms of spray uniformity. In addition, the droplet size distributions in both volume median diameter(VMD) and number median diameter(NMD) were adequate for aerial application and uniform in terms of lateral distribution. Thereafter, we intend to contribute to a precise application on small-scaled fields using the unmanned agricultural rotorcraft by the variable rate application.

This paper introduces an algorithm to middle-low price drone's autonomous navigation flight system using computer vision and GPS. Existing drone operative system mainly contains using methods such as, by inputting course of the path to the installed software of the particular drone in advance of the flight or following the signal that is transmitted from the controller. However, this paper introduces new algorithm that allows autonomous navigation flight system to locate specific place, specific shape of the place and specific space in an area that the user wishes to discover. Technology developed for military industry purpose was implemented on a lower-quality hobby drones without changing its hardware, and used this paper's algorithm to maximize the performance. Camera mounted on middle-low price drone will process the image which meets user's needs will look through and search for specific area of interest when the user inputs certain image of places it wishes to find. By using this algorithm, middle-low price drone's autonomous navigation flight system expect to be apply to a variety of industries.

A miniaturized time-of-flight mass spectrometer with an electron impact ionization source and sheet membrane introduction has been developed. The advantages and features of this mass spectrometer include high sensitivity, simple structure, low cost, compact volume with field portability, and ease of operation. A mass resolution of 400 at m/z 78 has been obtained with a 25 cm flight path length. Under optimized conditions, the detection limits for the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) studied were 0.2-10 ppm by volume with linear dynamic ranges greater than three orders of magnitude. The response times for various VOCs using a silicone membrane of 127 $\mu$m thickness were in the range 4.5-20 s, which provides a sample analysis time of less than 1 minute. These results indicate that the membrane introduction/time-of-flight mass spectrometer will be useful for a wide range of field applications, particularly for environmental monitoring.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is generally flied via a pre-planned flight path or real-time commands by an operator. To succeed in an assigned mission, analysis such as the line-of-sight analysis for communication between UAV and a ground data terminal should be performed. In this paper, various analysis algorithms which are performed by a ground control station in pre-flight and in-flight phases, are proposed for the safe flight of UAV. Note that the proposed algorithms can be applied to most UAV systems.
In this paper, we deal with some numerical analyses of a re-entry vehicle in a 2-dimensional plane as an optimal control problem. To reduce the dynamic load, the heat load and the oscillation in the trajectory, we researched the trajectories in which the load factor or the rate of flight path angle was minimized during re-entry. In addition to that, taking advantage of the monotonous subarc method and the folded time-axis method, we tried to find the heat-less and load-less trajectory with combinations of some sectional functionals so that we can achieve more comfortability.

The present study investigates the effect of the flight patterns of military aircraft for takeoff and approach on noise map. Aircraft noise modeling and simulation have been made on a Korean military airport by INM(Integrated Noise Model). The flight path of a military aircraft is modeled with takeoff, overfly, approach and touch-and-go modes. The present INM simulations are conducted for various cases with change of different takeoff and approach modes. It show that the change of takeoff and approach modes can cause considerable noise effects on the noise influence region around the airport.

This paper deals with the energy saving problem of the follower aircraft in the loose leader-follower formation geometry in which the lateral separation between formation members is more than a wingspan of the leader aircraft. This formation geometry offers no drag benefit, but has a strategic advantage. In the case of loose formation flight, the follower aircraft usually consumes more energy than the leader aircraft because the follower aircraft should use more thrust to maintain given formation geometry, especially during the turning phase from the outside of the leader"s flight path or join-up phase. A formation control scheme based on the energy maneuverability is proposed in this paper. To design the proposed control law, the velocity command is designed using feedback linearization for the horizontal formation geometry and then coverts it to the altitude command using the energy equation. Numerical simulation is performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Parameter optimization technique is applied to planning UAVs(Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) path under artificial enemy radar threats. The ground enemy radar threats are characterized in terms of RCS(Radar Cross Section) parameter which is a measure of exposure to the radar threats. Mathematical model of the RCS parameter is constructed by a simple mathematical function in the three-dimensional space. The RCS model is directly linked to the UAVs attitude angles in generating a desired trajectory by reducing the RCS parameter. The RCS parameter is explicitly included in a performance index for optimization. The resultant UAVs trajectory satisfies geometrical boundary conditions while minimizing a weighted combination of the flight time and the measure of ground radar threat expressed in RCS.
In this research, we present a path planning method for an autonomous flight of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through reinforcement learning under simulated environment. We design the simulator for reinforcement learning of uav. Also we implement interface for compatibility of Deep Q-Network(DQN) and simulator. In this paper, we perform reinforcement learning through the simulator and DQN, and use Q-learning algorithm, which is a kind of reinforcement learning algorithms. Through experimentation, we verify performance of DQN-simulator. Finally, we evaluated the learning results and suggest path planning strategy using reinforcement learning.

The objective of this paper is to generate a desired flight path to be followed by an autonomous airship. The space is supposed without obstacles. As there are six degrees of freedom and only three inputs for the LSC AS200 airship, three equality constraints appear due to the under-actuation.
