비행교수와 학생조종사의 성격특성에 따른 비행입문과정 훈련결과 분석 (The Effects of Personality Types of Flight Instructor and Student Pilot on the Introductory Flight Training Results)

  • In this study, MBTI(Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) test was carried out targeting flight instructors and student pilots in charge of introductory flight training course. The results was analyzed in accordance with the personality type, the preferred indicator, and the combination of preferred indicators in order to see how these characteristics affect the flight training results. Most of personality types of the instructor, regardless of the attitude category such as E or I, were -STJ(70.6%), however the student pilot showed a variety of personality types, rather than professors. Sensing-type(S) students showed higher academic achievement scores than Intuition-type(N), and Judging-type(J) students showed higher academic achievement scores and pilot qualification scores than Perceiving-type(P). The success rate of Extraversion-type(E) student pilots was higher than that of Introversion-type(I) student pilots. As the personality combinations of instructor and student pilot, the academic achievement scores of Judging-Judging(J-J) type were higher than those of Perceiving-Perceiving(P-P) type. The combination of Extraversion-Extraversion(E-E) type showed higher success rate than Extraversion-Introversion(E-I). This result suggests that if both instructor and student pilot have same attitude of Extroversion(E), good training results can be expected.

Characteristics of Wintering Habitat use by Black-tailed Gulls (Larus crassirostris) on the West Coast of Korea

  • This study used a GPS tracker to determine characteristics of wintering habitat use by black-tailed gulls on the west coast of Korea. Results of this study showed a southward movement in December and a northward movement in March. The wintering habitat was confirmed to include the southwest coastal island area (Group 1), the inland coastal area (Group 2), and China (Group 3). The wintering home range was the narrowest in October and the widest in December. Home range of Group 1 was increased from November, showing the maximum in December, decreased in February, and then tended to increase again in March. Group 2 showed the widest home range in November and a narrow range of home range from December. Home range of Group 3 showed a mixed pattern of group 1 and group 2. The flight rate was the lowest in January and the highest in March. Day and night flight rates showed significant differences by month. This study identified wintering characteristics of the West Coast population of black-tailed gulls on the West Coast, including their wintering areas, migration periods, and use patterns. These wintering characteristics of black-tailed gull in the west coast area are thought to be affected by environmental factors (such as food resources and fishing activities) and geographical characteristics of the West Coast where many islands are distributed.

초음속 고등훈련기 가로-방향축 모델역변환 비행제어법칙 설계 (Lateral-Directional Dynamic Inversion Control Applied to Supersonic Trainer)

  • The modern version of aircrafts is allowed to guarantee the superior handing qualities within the entire flight envelope by imposing the adequate stability and flying qualities on a target aircraft through the various techniques of flight control law design. Generally, the flight control law of the aircraft in service applies the various techniques of the verified control algorithm, such as dynamic inversion and eigenstructure assignment. The supersonic trainer employs the RSS(Relaxed Static Stability) concept in order to improve the aerodynamic performance in longitudinal axis and the longitudinal control laws employ the dynamic inversion with proportional-plus-integral control method. And, lateral-directional control laws employ the blended roll system of both beta-betadot feedback and simple roll rate feedback with proportional control method in order to guarantee aircraft stability. In this paper, the lateral-directional flight control law is designed by applying dynamic inversion control technique as a different method from the current supersonic trainer control technique, where the roll rate command system is designed at the lateral axis for the rapid response characteristics, and the sideslip command system is adopted at the directional axis for stability augmentation. The dynamic inversion of a simple 1st order model is applied. And this designed flight control law is confirmed to satisfy the requirement presented from the military specification. This study is expected to contribute to design the flight control law of KF-X(Korean Fighter eXperimental) which will proceed into the full-scale development in the near future.

북한 SLBM의 비행특성 해석 (Analysis of the Flight Trajectory Characteristics of North Korea SLBM)

  • 본 연구에서는 북한의 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일의 비행궤적을 시뮬레이션하고 발사방법에 따른 특성을 분석하였다. 최근 북한은 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일의 비행시험을 실시하였으며, 이는 국제적인 안보에 상당한 위협이 되고 있다. 북한은 러시아의 퇴역 잠수함을 해체하는 과정에서 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일 관련 기술을 확보하였고, 이와 관련된 실험을 지속적으로 하는 것으로 알려졌다. 북한의 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일 개발이 완료되고 실전 배치된다면, 이는 우리나라에 비대칭적인 위협 요소로 작용하게 될 것이다. 따라서 이러한 위협에 능동적으로 대응하기 위해서는 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일의 위협에 대한 과학적이고 논리적인 분석이 이루어져야 한다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구에서는 북한의 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일의 운동 모델을 작성하고 이를 시뮬레이션 하였다. 또한 잠수함 발사 탄도미사일의 자세각을 조절하여 사거리를 조정하였으며 이에 대한 특성변화에 대해 기술하였다. 도출된 SLBM 비행궤적을 고려할 때 중간 단계부터 종말 단계까지의 효과적인 대응을 위해서는 해상기반 탄도미사일 방어체계가 필수적으로 요구되어 진다.

  • 인공위성 발사를 위한 우주발사체는 효율적인 비행을 위하여 다단으로 구성이 되며 단분리, 연료점화 및 연소종료 등의 비행이벤트를 거쳐서 임무를 완수하게 된다. 이 과정에서 발사체는 추력이 발생하는 동력비행구간과 추력이 없는 탄도비행구간의 과정을 반복하여 겪게 된다. 이러한 우주 발사체의 비행특성을 하나의 동력학 모델로 표현하기는 어렵기 때문에 다중모델을 사용하는 추적 알고리즘에 대한 연구가 많이 진행되어 왔다. 다중모델 추적 알고리즘을 사용하는 경우에는 추적 성능의 개선을 기대할 수 있지만, 사용할 각 동력학 모델들을 적절히 선정해야 하는 어려움이 있으며 또한 다중모델 사용으로 인해 계산양이 증가하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 등가속도 모델과 적응형 Singer 모델을 사용하는 두 개의 칼만필터만으로 다양한 비행특성을 가지는 우주발사체를 효과적으로 추적하는 방법을 제안한다.

인구통계학적 특성이 항공기내식 서비스 품질과 고객 만족에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Demographical Characteristics on Service Quality and Customer Satisfaction for In-Flight Catering Service)

  • An attempt was made to provide valuable information to improve service quality and customer satisfaction for in-flight catering service. The customers' demographic characteristics that impact on service quality and customer satisfaction were examined for a group of customer. 474 customers who have been used the airplane within 1 year were participated in this study. Statistical analysis was performed using SAS software program (version 6.01) for descriptive analysis, factor analysis, t-test and ANOVA. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: 1. Service Quality in In-flight catering was assessed on the basis of 18 service quality attributes and 5 dimensions derived from a factor analysis. After comparing customers' perception to customers' expectation regarding in-flight service quality, the quality of dimensions for 'meals', and 'sanitation' were not showed any significant differences. However, the expectation for dimensions of 'diversity of menu', 'providing information', and 'the degree of concern to the customers' were rated significantly higher than the perception for those. 2. Among the demographic variables, age and gender had highly influences on the customers' expectation and perception regarding service quality and customer satisfaction. 3. The korean food that the customers wanted to have for in-flight meals was investigated. Among the kinds of gruel(jook), abalone gruel(jeonbok-jook), pumpkin gruel(hobak-jook), and pine-nut gruel(jat-jook) were chosen to have for in-flight korean meals. It was rated that the preferences for beef soup(sogogikook), hot spicy beef soup(youkgaejang), brown sea-weed soup(miyoukkook) were higher than others in soup group. The preferences for boiled rice with assorted mixture(bibimbab) showed the highest and beef and rice soup(seoleongtang), boiled rice with four the staple cereals(ogogbab) were preferred higher than the others in main dish group. Bulgogi was rated the most popular dish. Korean style punch with omiza(whachae), sweet rice dish(yaksik) and fried glutinous rice cake(gangjeong)showed high preferences in dissert.

벌새의 비행메커니즘과 유동특성에 대한 2차원 수치해석 연구 (A Two-dimensional Numerical Study of Hummingbird's Flight Mechanisms and Flow Characteristics)

  • 벌새(Selasphorus rufus)의 날갯짓 운동에 의한 양력발생 및 추력발생 메커니즘을 이해하고자 2차원 수치해석을 수행하였다. 날갯짓 운동의 궤적은 풍동 실험에서 관찰된 결과를 모델링하여 해석하였다. 비행속도에 따라 날갯짓 운동 궤적이 달라지고, 그 결과 양력 및 추력의 발생 메커니즘이 변화하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이를 통하여 비행속도를 저속비행과 고속비행으로 구분하여 물리적인 이해를 하고자 하였다. 양력발생의 경우에는 기존의 날갯짓 비행의 주된 양력발생 메커니즘인 앞전와류효과(Leading Edge Vortex Effect), 실속지연(Delayed Stall), 후류포착(Wake capture)등의 메커니즘을 확인하였으며, 벌새에서 유일하게 관찰되는 Upstroke에서의 양력발생 메커니즘을 유동특성 분석을 통하여 확인하였다. 추력발생의 경우에는 벌새의 골격 구조, 와류형성 및 압력구배에 따른 합력 성분의 분해를 통하여 이해할 수 있었다.

Synchropter 드론의 개념설계 및 비행시험 (Conceptual Design and Flight Testing of a Synchropter Drone)

  • Synchropter는 서로 경사진 한 쌍의 회전날개가 동조 교차 회전하는 회전익 항공기의 일종으로 동축반전 헬리콥터와 마찬가지로 꼬리 회전날개를 제거할 수 있어서 효율적이며 간결한 형태의 비행체 구성이 가능하다. 드론 체계로서의 적합성을 검토하기 위하여 소형 Synchropter를 설계, 제작하여 비행시험을 수행하였다. 설계한 Synchropter는 로터 직경이 1.4m이며 중량이 7kg인 소형비행체로서 효율적으로 비행 특성을 확인하기 위하여 상용부품 기반으로 제작하였다. 비행 제어 시스템은 Open Architecture인 Pixhawk를 기반으로 구성하였으며, Sychropter 제어법칙을 PX4 펌웨어에 탑재할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 정성적 비행시험을 통해 Synchropter의 비행 특성을 분석하였으며, 분석 결과, 드론 체계로서의 활용 가능성을 파악할 수 있었다.

H 기반 틸트로터 항공기 횡방향 SCAS 설계 (Design of Lateral SCAS based on H for Tilt Rotor Aircraft)

  • The tilt rotor aircraft has the flight characteristics which takes off vertically like a helicopter and flies forward like an airplane. Especially, the transition process from a helicopter to an airplane mode requires not only the mixing of control inputs but also the stability and controllability augmentation system(SCAS) in order to keep the safe flight because there are compound flight dynamic characteristics of a helicopter and an airplane including non-linearity, uncertainty. This paper describes the design of SCAS in a lateral motion for the tilt rotor aircraft based on the $H_{\infty}$ control method, which was performed from mathematical model with weighting matrix based on the relationship between the $H_{\infty}$ norm and the sensitivity function. Through simulation analysis for the controller designed on the $H_{\infty}$ control theory, it was shown that this method may be applied to the control design of the tilt rotor aircraft.
