Application of time-of-flight near infrared spectroscopy to Satsuma mandarin

  • In this study, a newly constructed optical measurement system, whose main components were a parametric tunable laser and a near infrared photoelectric multiplier, was applied to detection of the information for the inside of Satsuma mandarin using time-of-flight near infrared spectroscopy (TOF-NIRS). The combined effects on the time resolved profile of sample diameter, sugar content, the wavelength of the laser beam, and the detection position of transmitted light were investigated in detail. The samples used were Satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshu $M^{ARC}$.) (location: Wakayama, Japan) having the diameters of 50-84 mm. The sugar content measured by a refractometer varied from 9.9 to 16.3 Brix%. Equator of sample was irradiated vertically with the pulsed laser, and transmitted output power was measured on the restricted position of the equator using the optical fiber cable. The sampling time and the number of averaging the output power were 100 ns and 100 times, respectively. The variation of the attenuance of peak maxima At, the time delay of peak maxima t and the variation of full width at half maximum w were strongly dependent on the detection position and the wavelength of the laser beam. At, t and w increased gradually as the sample diameter increased to be much absorbed and vigorously scattered. On the other hand, each optical parameter had a tendency to increase as the sugar content increased. Such behavior was remarkable when the transmitted light was detected at the side face of a sample. When we apply TOF-NIRS to detection of the information for the inside of fruit with high moisture content like Satsuma mandarin, it is very important to give attention to the difference in the scattered light within tissues and the semi-straightly propagated light. Furthermore, we tried to express the resulting phenomena by using a model samples composed of water, sucrose, and milk. The variation of the time resolved profile is strongly governed by the combination of the light absorption component, scattering medium, and refractive index.

한국형 우주비행기의 기준 항력 추종 기반 재진입 유도 기법 (Reentry Guidance for Korean Space Plane Based on Reference Drag Following)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국형 우주비행기(KSP)에 대한 새로운 재진입 유도를 제안하고자 한다. 제안된 방법은 우주 왕복선 유도 개념과 유사하게 다양한 비행경로 제약조건과 경계조건을 만족시키는 기준 항력 프로파일을 미리 결정하고, 결정된 기준 항력 프로파일을 추종하는 방식으로 유도명령이 구현된다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 항력 동역학을 조사하였으며, 그 결과 항력과 비행경로각의 동역학적 응답 특성이 상당히 다르다는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 이 사실을 바탕으로 제안한 유도명령은 시간분리 기법과 궤환선형화 방법을 사용하여 결정된다. 제안한 유도기법의 주요 특징은 간단한 구조와 명확한 작동 메커니즘에 있다. 따라서 제안된 방법은 기존 방법에 비해 구현이 간단하다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 방법의 성능을 조사하기 위해 수치 시뮬레이션을 수행한다.

POD용 환경조절장치를 위한 상변화열교환기 개념연구 (A Design Study on a Phase Change Heat Exchanger of an Environmental Control System for a POD)

  • 환경조절장치는 일반적으로 냉각기계와 열교환기를 주요 구성품으로 한다. 그런데, 본 연구에서는 환경조절장치의 천이성능 향상을 위하여 상변화 열교환기를 추가하는 새로운 개념을 제시하였다. 그 효과는 상변화 열교환기를 포함하는 환경조절장치의 모델링 프로그램을 개발하여 이륙, 기동, 순항, 착육 등과 같은 다양한 비행조건에 대하여 평가되었다. 다양한 조건에서의 시뮬레이션 결과, 회수되는 공기의 온도가 $80^{\circ}C$ 이내를 유지하는 것이 확인되어, 상변화 열교환기를 포함하는 새로운 환경조절장치의 개념이 성공적으로 검증되었다.

  • We have developed and commercialize a time-of-flight - medium energy ion scattering spectrometry (TOF-MEIS) system (model MEIS-K120). MEIS-K120 adapted a large solid acceptance angle detector that results in high collection efficiency, minimized ion beam damage while maintaining a similar energy resolution. In addition, TOF analyzer regards neutrals same to ions which removes the ion neutralization problems in absolute quantitative analysis. A TOF-MEIS system achieves $7{\times}10^{-3}$ energy resolution by utilizing a pulsed ion beam with a pulse width 350 ps and a TOF delay-line-detector with a time resolution of about 85 ps. TOF-MEIS spectra were obtained using 100 keV $He^+$ ions with an ion beam diameter of $10{\mu}m$ with ion dose $1{\times}10^{16}$ in ordinary experimental condition. Among TOF-MEIS applications, we report the quantitative compositional profiling of 3~5 nm CdSe/ZnS QDs, As depth profile and substitutional As ratio of As implanted/annealed Si, Ionic Critical Dimension (CD) for FinFET, Direct Recoil (DR) analysis of hydrogen in diamond like carbon (DLC) and InxGayZnzOn on glass substrate.

Integrated Navigation Design Using a Gimbaled Vision/LiDAR System with an Approximate Ground Description Model

  • This paper presents a vision/LiDAR integrated navigation system that provides accurate relative navigation performance on a general ground surface, in GNSS-denied environments. The considered ground surface during flight is approximated as a piecewise continuous model, with flat and slope surface profiles. In its implementation, the presented system consists of a strapdown IMU, and an aided sensor block, consisting of a vision sensor and a LiDAR on a stabilized gimbal platform. Thus, two-dimensional optical flow vectors from the vision sensor, and range information from LiDAR to ground are used to overcome the performance limit of the tactical grade inertial navigation solution without GNSS signal. In filter realization, the INS error model is employed, with measurement vectors containing two-dimensional velocity errors, and one differenced altitude in the navigation frame. In computing the altitude difference, the ground slope angle is estimated in a novel way, through two bisectional LiDAR signals, with a practical assumption representing a general ground profile. Finally, the overall integrated system is implemented, based on the extended Kalman filter framework, and the performance is demonstrated through a simulation study, with an aircraft flight trajectory scenario.

하천 측량용 헥사콥터의 단일로터에 대한 제자리 비행 성능 연구 (Study on the Hovering Flight Performance of a Single Rotor on a River Surveillance Hexacopter)

  • In this study, an experimental device was fabricated to evaluate the hovering flight performance of a single rotor on a hexacopter used for river surveillance, and a thrust performance test was conducted. In addition, the 3D profile of the propeller was extracted by 3D scanning and CFD analysis was performed using ANSYS CFD 14.5 based on the extracted 3D model of the propeller. The aerodynamic characteristics were compared with the results of the performance tests and CFD analysis, and the vortex structure corresponding to each motor rotational speed in revolutions per minute (rpm) was identified. In the future, we plan to provide valuable data for multicopter propeller design and performance verification.

원심 모형 시험을 위한 동적 현장 지반 모사 기법 연구(대만 화련 지반) (Simulation of Dynamic in-situ Soil Properties for the Centrifuge Test (Hualien Site in Taiwan))

  • 본 연구는 원심 모형 시험을 위한 동적 현장 지반의 모사 기법을 제안하였다. 현장지반 모사를 위해서 현장 지반의 층상 구조 및 전단파 속도 주상도에 대한 자료를 바탕으로 모형시료를 조성하고, 구속압 별 공진주 시험을 수행하였다. 그리고 공진주 시험을 통하여 지반의 특성계수와 구속압 영향계수를 구하고, 모형 지반의 전단파 속도를 예측하였다. 이를 현장의 전단파 속도 주상도와 비교하여 시료 조건을 결정하였다. 그리고 결정된 시료 조건을 바탕으로 원심모형시험 모델을 제작하고, 인-플라이트 상태에서 벤더 엘리먼트 시험을 수행하여 제안된 기법의 타당성을 검증하였다. 그리고 대형지진시험이 수행된 적이 있는 대만 화련의 현장 지반을 대상으로 축소 모델링 기법을 적용하였다.

A Simulation of 3-D Navigation System of the Helicopter based on TRN Using Matlab

  • 본 연구는 지형참조항법(TRN; Terrain Referenced Navigation)에 근거하는 헬리콥터 항법 시스템을 위한 기본 알고리즘을 개발하기 위해 수행되었다. 현재 본 연구에 위성 항법장치(GPS; Global Positioning System)로부터의 정보(X, Y, Z 좌표)는 비행체가 항로를 비행하는 중 매 92.8m의 수평거리로 환산하여 수신되는 것으로 가정하였다. 비행체는 3차원 직교 좌표 체계(Cartesian coordinate system)로 표현되는 수치지형모델(DTM; Digital Terrain Model)상에서 시점(Origination)-종점(Destination) 분석 기법에 의해 항로를 결정한다. 본 시스템은 우선 조종사에게 지형의 사전 인식을 위해 시점-종점 주변 3차원 지형도와 항로의 종단면도를 보여준다. 본 시스템은 직접적인 지상 충돌을 피하기 위해 지형 여유 층면(terrain clearance floor)의 개념을 도입, 기복 지형 표면에 일정 높이의 완충 공간을 설정한다. 만약 비행체가 항행 중 완충 공간에 접근하게 되면 본 시스템은 실시간으로 즉시 경고음과 메시지를 발한다(Matlab 메뉴를 사용하였음). 물론 헬리콥터의 이착륙 시에는 불필요한 경고를 발생시키지 않기 위해 완충 공간 조정은 가능하다. 수치지형모델은 (주)첨성대가 확보하고 있는 3초 간격의 DTM을 채택, 작성하였다.

액체크로마토그라피-삼중비행시간질량분석기를 사용한 rosiglitazone의 복강 및 경구투여 후 대사체 비교 분석 (Comparison of rosiglitazone metabolite profiles in rat plasma between intraperitoneal and oral administration and identifcation of a novel metabolite by liquid chromatography-triple time of flight mass spectrometry)

  • Rosiglitazone metabolites in rat plasma were analyzed after intraperitoneal and oral administration to rats. Seven metabolites (M1-M7) were detected in rat plasma (IP and PO), and the structures were confirmed using liquid chromatography-triple time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometry; as a result, the most abundant metabolite was M5, a de-methylated rosiglitazone. Other minor in vivo metabolites were driven from monooxygenation and demethylation (M2), thiazolidinedione ring-opening (M1, M3), mono-oxygenation (M4, M7), and mono-oxygenation followed by sulfation (M6). Among them, M1 was found to be a 3-{p-[2-(N-methyl-N-2-pyridylamino)ethoxy]phenyl}-2-(methylsulfinyl)propionamide, which is a novel metabolite of rosiglitazone. There was no significant difference in the metabolic profiles resulting from the two administrations. The findings of this study provide the first comparison of circulating metabolite profiles of rosiglitazone in rat after IP and PO administration and a novel metabolite of rosiglitazone in rat plasma.
