  • Recently, fiber cementitious composite has been researched due to its good ductility. In this paper, Ductile Fiber Reinforcement Cementitious Coposite (DFRCC) is applied as reinforcement in concrete to prove its better performance. Compare to ordinary concrete, DFRCC has higher ductility which helps control the propagation of cracking without decreasing the elastic modulus and ultimate strength. In this research, experiments of different mixture ratios have been implemented to find a suitable mixture ratio value to produce high performance DFRCC material.

  • Recently polymer insulators are being used for outdoor high voltage applications. Polymer insulators for transmission and distribution line have significant advantages over porcelain and glass insulators, especially for ultra-high voltage(UHV) transmission lines. Their advantages are light weight, vandalism resistance and hydrophobicity. In this paper, polymer line post insulator has been designed and investigated electric field distribution by FEM. Designed LP insulators have been tested as insulator performance test, such as power frequency voltage test, lightning impulse voltage test, artificial pollution test and flexural load test.

  • In this study, characteristic of elastic paving materials in bicycle road using polyurethane were studied experimentally. As a results, following their good result was obtained. Bicycle road packaging materials are flexural strength g test, ratio of mass change after freezing and thawing, repulsion elasticity test, water Permeation coefficient test and slip resistance test results showed good performance.

  • A new Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) wavelength demodulation scheme is studied in the paper, which consists of an improved de-noising method and Gaussian fitting peak searching algorithm. The improved translational invariant wavelet without threshold adjust factor is proposed to get a better de-noising performance for FBG sensor signal and overcome the drawbacks of soft or hard threshold wavelets. In order to get a high wavelength demodulation precision of FBG sensor signal, this de-noising method is designed to combine with Gaussian fitting peak searching algorithm. The simulation results show that the wavelength maximum measurement error is lower than 1pm, and can get a much higher accuracy.

  • The development of external prestressing methods has been one of the major trends in the concrete bridge constructions over the past decades. One of the promising methods to enhance the flexural strength of a externally prestressed girder is to place the tendons with large eccentricities. The test results in this study showed that the external prestressing of a composite girder increased the range of the elastic behavior, reduced deflections, increased ultimate strength, and added to the redundancy by providing the multiple stress paths. This study was conducted on the concrete bridges reinforced by the continuous girders and the external prestressing.

  • The purpose of this research is focused on evaluating the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beam having 22mm diameter re-bars by lapping methods. To compare the existent lapping method with mechanical lapping methods, four cases of concrete beams were tested to be failed flexurally by monotonic loading. Based on test results, the relations between load and displacement, ductility, maximum load was comparatively analyzed. The structural performance on four cases of members were evaluated.

  • To overcome the common deficiencies found in such two-way slabs, such as excessive cracking around columns, excessive deflections and low punching shear strength, it was proposed to investigate the strategic reinforcing steel distribution detailings. Concentration of the top mat of flexural reinforcement result in a higher punching shear resistance, higher post cracking stiffness, a more uniform distribution of strains in the top bars and smaller cracks at all levels of loading.

  • This paper describes the experimental study on seismic strengthening effect of circular bridge columns with poor lap-splice details using FRP(Fiber Reinforced Plastic) wrapping, The as-built column suffered brittle failure due to the deterioration of lap-spliced longitudinal reinforcement without developing its flexural capacity or any ductility, The strengthening columns using FRP wrapping showed significant improvement in seismic performance due to FRP's confinement effect.
