리튬 미소전지용 $LiCoO_2$ 박막양극의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 기판의 영향 (Substrate Effect on the Electrochemical Properties of $LiCoO_2$ Thin-Film Cathode for Li Microbattery)

  • 기판의 변화가 박막전극의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 박막 $LiCoO_2$ 양극을 alumina, chemically etched-Si그리고 flat-Si기판 위에 증착하였다. Alumina기판의 경우 산소 분위기, $800^{\circ}C$ 30분간 열처리 후 내부에 균열이 존재하는 매우 큰 결정이 형성되었으나 flat-Si 기판의 경우에는 미세하며 균일한 결정이 관찰되었다. Flat-Si 기판 위에 증착된 박막은 alumina또는 식각된 Si 기판의 경우에 비하여 peak potential증감 및 고 전류밀도 방출 능면에서 매우 우수한 특성을 나타내었으며 이는 열처리 후 형성된 결정립의 크기, 표면 형상 및 전류 집전체의 전기저항 차이에 기인한 것으로 생각되었다.

티타늄 황삭가공에 있어서 절삭공구의 마모 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Wear Characteristics of Cutting Tools in a Titanium Roughing Cut Machining)

  • The application of titanium has been gradually rising because the utilizing ranges for low weight and high strength are rapidly increased by the need for improving the fuel economy in production industries such as the aviation and automotive in recent. The purpose in this study is to investigate the appropriate cutting conditions on the life of flat and round end mills by measuring the maximum cutting temperature relative to the machining time, and calculating the wear rates of cutting tool with the spindle speed and feed rate of vertical machining center as a parameter in the titanium roughing cut machining which is widely used in critical parts of aircraft, cars, etc. When the wetted roughing cut machining of titanium with a soluble cutting oil is conducted by the flat and round end mills, the maximum cutting temperatures for a variety of spindle speed and feed rate are measured at ten-minute intervals during 60 minutes by an infrared thermometer, and the wear rates of cutting tool are calculated by the weight ratios based on tool wear before and after the experiment. It is found that the maximum cutting temperature and the wear rates of cutting tool are raised as the cutting amount per tool edge is increased with the rise of feed rate, in this experimental range, and as the frictional area due to the rise of contacting friction numbers between tool and specimen is increased with the rises of cutting time and spindle speed. In addition, the increasing rate of maximum cutting temperature in the flat and round end mills are the highest for the cutting time from 50 to 60 minutes, and the wear rate of cutting tool in the flat end mill is 1.14 to 1.55 times higher than that in the round end mill for all experimental conditions.

  • This paper examines an adaptive coding scheme for flat fading channels to maximize the average code rate of a coded system. The proposed adaptation technique is employed by using the required free distance of a rate compatible code depending on the channel realization. First, the system will calculate the required free distance based on the instantaneous channel gain. Based on this channel gain we will select a set of convolution code to optimize the code rate with a certain performance requirement. Simulation results show that our proposal can achieve a higher code rate.

  • A shape optimization of flow guide is accomplished to minimize the wear rate of die in three-dimensional flat-die extrusion processes. In order to achieve the balanced flow and the uniformed distribution of the effective strain during the extrusion, a multi-objective optimization is implemented. During the process of optimization formulation, the flow balance and the deviation of strain is considered as constrained conditions. The proposed approach is applied to an extrusion of H section. Through the optimization, it has been confirmed that the wear rate of die can be minimized satisfying the constraint.

방음터널의 자연환기성능 향상에 대한 연구 (The Study on the Improvement of Ventilation Performance in the Soundproof Tunnel)

  • This paper compared ventilation performance between the sound roof tunnel with flat roof and the sound roof tunnel with gable roof. The ventilation rate of the sound roof tunnel is calculated by natural ventilation rate plus ventilation by vehicle. The roof type is divided by the shape of the roof and the ventilator location on the roof. The results between calculation and CFD on the ventilation rate are almost alike. The ventilation rate on the flat roof is $558.4\;m^3/s$ with mid-ventilator and $496.8\;m^3/s$ with left-right ventilator. The ventilation rate on the gable roof is $653.2\;m^3/s$ with mid-ventilator and $611.6\;m^3/s$ with left-right ventilator. The ventilation rate of soundproof with gable roof is higher than that with flat roof. The ventilation rate and with mid-ventilator is higher than that with left-right ventilator the soundproof roof. Therefore, the ventilation performance of soundproof roof depends on the roof shape and ventilator location on the roof.

조간대 퇴적물의 계절적 집적양상과 보존: 한국 서해안의 곰소만 (Seasonal Accumulation Pattern and Preservation Potential of Tidal-flat Sediments: Gomso Bay, West Coast of Korea)

  • 우리나라서해안의 곰소만 조간대에서 조간대 퇴적층의 형성 및 보존과정을 규명하기 위해 지형, 퇴적물의 입도, 집적률 등의 계절적 변화를 조사하였다. 조간대를 횡단하는 측선에 대해 계절별로 수준측량한 결과, 겨울과 태풍 때 중부 조간대의 조간대사주(intertidal sand shoal)와 상부 조간대의 쉐니어(chenier)가 육지방향으로 크게 이동하였고, 특히 태풍 때에는 중 하부 조간대가 광범위하게 침식되었다. 그러나 여름에는 조간대사주와 쉐니어의 이동이 제한되었고, 중부 조간대의 상부역과 상부 조간대에 펄이 퇴적되었다. 퇴적물의 계절적 입도변화는 주로 중부 조간대의 상부역에서 크게 나타났으며, 대체로 5.5 ${\phi}$에서 모드를 갖는 펄질 퇴적물의 집적(여름)과 침식(겨울, 태풍)에 의해 야기되었다. 해저면에서 기준면까지의 깊이를 2 개월 간격으로 측정한 결과, 상부 조간대에서는 연중 지속적으로 퇴적이 이루어지고 겨울보다 여름에 집적률이 높은 반면, 중부 조간대에서는 여름보다 겨울에 퇴적이 우세하고 태풍 때 간헐적으로 침식되는 특징을 보였다. 그리고 하부 조간대는 주로 겨울에 퇴적되었고 여름과 태풍 때 침식되었다. 캔코아를 통해 퇴적층의 보존모습을 분석한 결과, 위의 계절변화 양상이 대체로 코아의 상부층에만 제한적으로 보존되었고, 하부층으로 갈수록 폭풍 퇴적층의 출현빈도가 증가하였다. 이상의 결과들에 기초하여 볼 때, 곰소만 조간대층의 많은 부분이 겨울 폭풍 또는 간헐적 태풍에 의해 재구성된 폭풍 퇴적층일 가능성이 높은 것으로 판단된다.

Simple Monodimensional Model for Linear Growth Rate of Photosynthetic Microorganisms in Flat-Plate Photobioreactors

  • The current study proposes a simple monodimensional model to estimate the linear growth rate of photosynthetic microorganisms in flat-plate photobioreactors (FPPBRs) during batch cultivation. As a model microorganism, Chlorella kessleri was cultivated photoautotrophically in FPPBRs using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as the light sources to provide unidirectional irradiation in the photobioreactors. Various conditions were simulated by adjusting both the intensity of the light and the height of the culture. The validity of the proposed model was examined by comparing the linear growth rates measured with the predicted ones obtained from the proposed model. Accordingly, the value of $\frac{K\cdot\mu m}{\alpha\cdot L}log(I_0\cdot{I_s}^{\varepsilon 1)\cdot {I_c}^{-\varepsilon})$ was proposed as an approximate index for strategies to obtain the maximal lightn yield under light-limiting conditions for high-density algal cultures and as a control parameter to improve the photosynthetic productivity and efficiency.

평판에 분사된 분무충돌제트의 냉각특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Cooling Characteristics of Mist Impinging Jet on a Flat Plate)

  • An experiment is conducted to investigate the effect of air and water mass flow rates on cooling characteristics of mist impinging jet on a flat plate. The air mass flow rate ranges from 0.0 to 3.0 g/s, and water mass flow rates from 5.0 to 20.0 g/s. An air-atomizing nozzle is used fur the purpose of controlling air and water mass flow rates. The test section is designed distinctively from previous works to obtain local heat transfer coefficient distributions. Heat transfer characteristics of the mist impinging jet are explained with the aid of flow visualization. Surface temperature and heat transfer coefficient distributions become more uniform as air mass flow rate increases. The water flow rate provides substantial contribution to enhancement of cooling performance. On the other hand, The air mass flow rate weakly influences the averaged heat transfer rate when the water mass flow rate is low, but the averaged heat transfer rate Increases remarkably with the air mass flow rate in case of the high water mass flow rate.

분리막 종류에 따른 하수의 생물학적 고도처리 효율 비교 연구 (Comparison of Biological Nutrient Removal Efficiencies on the Different Types of Membrane)

  • This study was performed to investigate the characteristics of nutrient removal of municipal wastewater in the membrane bioreactor system with the different types of membrane. Membrane bioreactor consists of three reactors such as two intermittent anaerobic and the submerged membrane aerobic reactor with flat sheet and hollow fiber membrane, respectively. The removal efficiencies of $COD_{cr}$, BOD, SS, TN and TP on the flat sheet membrane bioreactor were 94.3%, 99.0%, 99.9%, 70.3% and 63.1%, respectively. In addition, The removal efficiencies of $COD_{cr}$, BOD, SS, TN and TP on the hollow fiber membrane bioreactor were 94.0%, 99.3%, 99.9%, 69.9% and 66.9%, respectively. The estimated true biomass yield, specific denitrification rate (SDNR), specific nitrification rate (SNR) and phosphorus removal content on the flat sheet membrane bioreactor were $0.33kgVSS/kgBOD{\cdot}d$, $0.043mgNO_3-N/mgVSS{\cdot}d$, $0.031mgNH_4-N/mgVSS{\cdot}d$, and 0.144 kgP/d, respectively. In addition, the estimated true biomass yield, specific denitrification rate (SDNR), specific nitrification rate (SNR) and phosphorus removal content on the hollow fiber membrane bioreactor were $0.30kgVSS/kgBOD{\cdot}d$, $0.067mgNO_3-N/mgVSS{\cdot}d$, $0.028mgNH_4-N/mgVSS{\cdot}d$, and 0.121 kgP/d, respectively. There was little difference between the flat sheet and hollow fiber on the nutrient removal efficiencies except SNR and SDNR. These differences between them were caused by the air demand to prevent the membrane fouling. The flux and oxygen demand for air scouring were $19.0L/m^2/hr$ and $2.28m^3/min$ for the flat sheet membrane, and $20.7L/m^2/hr$ and $1.77m^3/min$ for the hollow fiber membrane on an average.

A Study on Application for Dress Form Made from a Replica Method - A Comparison of the Satisfaction of Fit of Basic Dresses Using the Draping and Flat Pattern Methods

  • In this research, the fit of basic dresses was examined, by analyzing and comparing the satisfaction of fitness of basic dresses made by the draping method on a custom-made replica body form and that of a basic dress made by the flat pattern method. Basis dresses were produced by the draping method for each 52 subjects using custom-made body forms, and another kind basic dresses for each subjects were produced by the flat pattern method using measurements of body sizes. Both basic dresses received high scores for the satisfaction of fit, but the basic dresses produced by draping method received higher scores. Thus it is expected to produce a more successful fit by draping a basic dress on a custom-made body form. Future research using more subjects might confirm these results. A more concrete analysis through using additional satisfaction tests could be conducted. For example, each subject might also serve as an evaluator to rate her satisfaction of fit wearing each of the two custom-made dresses. Finally, examining various body forms is suggested.
