Hysteretic Behavoir of Flat Plate System Using Rebar Type Shear Reinforcement (철근형 전단보강근을 사용한 플랫 플레이트 시스템의 이력 거동)

  • From the development of residential flat plate system, continuously bended shear reinforcements were applied in the joint performance test. The testing parameters are shear reinforcement types, which are no reinforcement, studrail reinforcement, and rebar type reinforcement. To verify the lateral resisting capacity, cyclic load is applied in the constant vertical load condition. From the test results, the resisting capacity of developed shear reinforcement system has a good performance behavior in the story drift ratio.

  • Due to recent technology advances, needs for flat panel displays, plasma display panels(PDPs) whose advantages are simple structure, high resolution, wide viewing angle is increasingly expected to be the first flat panel of large screen, walt hanging TVs. But the luminance and luminous efficiency of color PDP is net up to the level of a CRT. So, New electrode shape which is different from the conventional electrode has to propose to improve the luminance and luminous efficiency. In this paper, we suggested new shaped electrodes. In new shaped electrode, the discharge current was reduced compared with conventional type by reducing the unnecessary diffusion loss near the barrier rib. However, the luminance was nearly the same as conventional type. So, the luminous efficiency improved about 35%.

  • In the case of need for reciprocating motion, the study for application of Linear Oscillating Actuator(LOA) is being accomplished. LOA is the simpler and more efficient than other linear apparatus using the rotary motor because LOA produce the thrust force without any converter such as cam, clutch, rack, pinion and belt, etc. We designed the flat moving core type LOA and manufactured for trial. This paper shows the structure and dynamic characteristics of LOA.

  • The $Calder{\acute{o}}n$-Zygmund type estimate is proved for elliptic obstacle problems in bounded non-smooth domains. The problems are related to divergence form nonlinear elliptic equation with measurable nonlinearities. Precisely, nonlinearity $a({\xi},x_1,x^{\prime})$ is assumed to be only measurable in one spatial variable $x_1$ and has locally small BMO semi-norm in the other spatial variables x', uniformly in ${\xi}$ variable. Regarding non-smooth domains, we assume that the boundaries are locally flat in the sense of Reifenberg. We also investigate global regularity in the settings of weighted Orlicz spaces for the weak solutions to the problems considered here.

  • We report on a new type of a flat and thin display with a secondary emission electron source. In this display device electrons are multiplied between two secondary emission plates under a high frequency electric field. This principle has a few important advantages over a field emission display: the emission comes from flat plates, which reduces the life-time problems of ion bombardment of field emitter tips. Furthermore, the electron emission is space charge limited which gives a uniform electron distribution. The electrons are extracted from the source and accelerated to a phosphor screen to generate light. Gray levels are made by pulse width modulation.

Turbulent Flow Field on Boundary Layer Flow Conditions in the Near-Wake of a Flat Plate (평판 근접 후류에서 경계층의 유동조건에 따른 난류유동장)

  • An experimental study was quantitatively carried out in order to investigate the influence of flow conditions on a boundary layer in the near-wake of a flat plate. Tripping wires attached at various positions were selected to change flow conditions of a boundary layer in the vicinity of trailing edge. The flows such as laminar, transitional, and turbulent boundary layer at 0.98C from the leading edge are imposed to investigate the evolution of symmetric and asymmetric wake. Measurements were made at freestream velocity of 6.0m/s, and the corresponding Reynolds number is $2.8{\times}10^5$. An x-type hot-wire probe(55P61) was employed to measure at 8 stations in the near-wake region. Test results show that the near-wake of the flat plate for the case of a laminar and transitional boundary layer is sensitive to mean flow shear generated after separation but for the case of turbulent boundary layer is insensitive.

  • The aim of the paper is to study some geometric properties of weakly Z-symmetric manifolds. Weakly Z-symmetric manifolds with Codazzi type and cyclic parallel Z tensor are studied. We consider Einstein weakly Z-symmetric manifolds and conformally flat weakly Z-symmetric manifolds. Next, it is shown that a totally umbilical hypersurface of a conformally flat weakly Z-symmetric manifolds is of quasi constant curvature. Also, decomposable weakly Z-symmetric manifolds are studied and some examples are constructed to support the existence of such manifolds.

  • In this study, flat fluorescent lamps (FFLs) having surface discharge structures was fabricated by screen printing technique and were studied using spectraradiometer and square pulse power supply. Two types of FFLs having different shapes of electrodes (crosstype and line-type structure) were compared with variation of discharge shape and mixed gas ratio.

  • In this work, appropriate corrugated structure is suggested to increase resonant frequency of resonators. Micro beam resonators based on polycrystalline 3C-SiC films which have a two-side corrugation along the length of beams were simulated by finite element method and compared to a same - size flat rectangular. With the dimension of $36\times12\times0.5{\mu}m^3$, the flat cantilever has resonant frequency of 746 kHz. Meanwhile, with this size only corrugation width of $6{\mu}m$ and depth of $0.4{\mu}m$, the corrugated cantilever reaches the resonant frequency at 1.252 MHz, and is 68% larger than that of flat type.

  • This study has been conducted to measure the performance of 5 thermosyphon solar water heaters suitable for Korean climate and to develop the most optimum system. Each system consists of two flat plate collectors of $4'{\times}8'$ (or three flat plate collectors of $3'{\times}6'$) connected in parallel and a storage tank of $300{\ell}$ capacity. Among the tested systems, the configuration that has two flat plate collectors of $4'{\times}8'$ and a horizontal tank-in-tank type storage unit with internal fins (C system) showed the highest performance.
