Factors Influencing Environmental Accounting Information Disclosure of Listed Enterprises on Vietnamese Stock Markets

  • The purpose of the article is to evaluate the factors that affect the degree of environmental accounting information disclosure. Data are collected from 87 industry companies listed on the Vietnamese stock market from 2009 to 2019. I focus on the effect of factors such as the Firm size, Profitability, Leverage, Firm age, and Independent auditors. To explain the causal relationship between factors, I construct the regression model and then test it by using different statistical method approaches, including the pooled OLS, the fixed effects model, and the random effects model. Then I conduct testing of model defects: White Test, Wooldridge Test, Hausman Test, and Wald Test. The Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) method is used to analyze the image factors that affect environmental accounting information disclosure. The results show that the extent of environmental accounting information disclosure is influenced by factors: firm size, uptime and independent audit. These factors positively affect the level of environmental accounting information disclosure; independent audit has the greatest influence. Based on the research results, the author gives recommendations to improve the disclosure of environmental accounting information for industrial enterprises listed on the Vietnamese stock market, increasing the competitiveness of the public company in terms of global integration.

Nexus between Financial Development and Economic Growth: Evidence from Sri Lanka

  • This paper examines the long-run relationship between financial development and economic growth. The effective function of financial development is crucial to promote the economic development of the country. To achieve the objective, this study used Gross Domestic Product as a dependent variable and Credit to The Private Sector, Ratio of the Gross Fixed Capital Formation to GDP, Trade, Consumer Price Index and Labour Force as an independent variable. Augmented Dickey-Fuller test statistic (ADF) to check the stationary. Bounds test for cointegration and Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag Models (ARDL) are used to check cointegrating relationship amongst the variables and causality between financial development and economic growth. Moreover, the Model selection method is Akaike Info Criterion (AIC). This result demonstrates that the labor force and trade hold a significantly negative relationship with economic growth. Nevertheless, inflation, Credit to The Private Sector, and Ratio of the Gross Fixed Capital Formation to GDP show a significantly positive relationship with economic growth. Therefore, there is a statistically significant relationship between Financial Development and Economic growth in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan government should reform its trade policies.

  • This paper presents several modeling methods to analyze the stub-girder system, testifies those methods base on actual test results for the behavior of the simply supported stub-girder system, and finally, by changing the boundary conditions in those models, predicts the behavior of the fixed end stub-girder system. Two different methods are used for the structural modeling. In the first method, the stub-girder is modeled as a vierendeel truss girder, and in the second method, as a finite element model. Both methods use the finite element analysis software package LUSAS™ for linearly elastic analyses and nonlinear analyses.

다단계 공급체인에서 재고정책들에 대한 시뮬레이션 연구 (A Simulation Study for Inventory Policies in a Multi-Echelon Supply Chain)

  • Managing multi-echelon inventory systems has gained importance over the last decade mainly because integrated control of supply chains consisting of several processing and distribution stages has become feasible through modern information technology. Determination of optimal inventory policy for multi-echelon supply chain is made difficult by the complex interaction between the different levels. In this paper, we investigate performance of five inventory policies (fixed quantity order policy, fixed interval order policy, compromised order policy, lead time-fixed quantity order policy, and mixed order policy) in a multi-echelon supply chain by using a simulation model constructed with AweSim simulation language. The results of the simulation study show that the mixed order policy is the best among five inventory policies in the most test problems except the case when the stockout cost per unit is much higher than the inventory holding and transportation costs per unit.

  • 본 연구에서는 하구역에 이안제를 설치했을 경우 하천류가 없고 파가 경사져서 입사해 올 때 하구 및 제체 주변에 발생하는 해빈류의 흐름상태를 수치계산에 의해서 구하고 고정상 수리실험을 통하여 얻은 결과와 비교해서 본 수치모델의 타당성을 검증하였다. 또한 이동상 수리실험을 통하여 하구 및 이안제 주변에서 일어나는 지형변화를 검토하여 하구폐새 방지대책으로서 이안제공법의 효용성을 확인하였다.

  • The size of leisure space has been determined on the basis of the annual and peak day's number of visitor, turnover rate, and size per visitor. But the past models have no theoretical base and practical errors on the many cases. So, this study was carried out to build and test a new theoretical model for selecting a optimal size of theme park. The basic concept of the model building is the break-even point analysis of cost-volume-profit relation. That is, Gain-Loss of theme park is determined by marginal profit and fixed cost by size. YongIn Farmland was selected as a model test case.

  • Reinforced concrete structural walls are widely known to provide an efficient lateral load resistance and drift control. However, many reported researches on them are mostly limited to the RC structural walls reinforced according to seismic details. When the pushover analysis technique is used for the prediction of inelastic behavior of frame-wall structures for the seismic evaluation of existing buildings having non-seismic details, the reliability of this analysis method should be checked by the test results. The objective of this study is to verify the correlation between the experimental and analytical responses of a high-rise reinforced concrete frame-wall structure having non-seismic details by using DRAIN-2DX program[11] and the test results performed previously[1]. It is concluded that the behavior of the frame-wall model is mainly affected by the fixed-end rotation(uplift at base) and bending deformation of the wall and that the analysis with the LINKS model[10] in DRAIN-2DX describes them with good reliability.

International Logistics: Does It Matter in Foreign Trade?

  • Economic globalization provides a good channel for the development of foreign trade around the world. Due to this background, this paper sets the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries as a sample to explore the importance of international logistics in foreign trade. An annual panel data from 2000 to 2017 will be used to conduct an empirical estimation under the panel unit root test and the fixed effect model. Foreign trade is treated as an explained variable and international logistics is treated as explanatory variables. The findings show that international logistics have a positive spillover effect on export trade and the speed of international logistics development has a regulatory effect on the relationship between both of them, which presents a U-shaped curve. When the speed of international logistics development is slow, an increase of it restrains the positive spillover effect of international logistics on export trade. However, when it rises to a certain extent, this increase releases the positive spillover effect of international logistics on export trade. As can be seen by the evidence that this paper provides, the impact of international logistics on foreign trade is dynamic. Moreover, this paper also puts forward some corresponding measures about the relationship between both of them.

Notes on the Goodness-of-Fit Tests for the Ordinal Response Model

  • In this paper we discuss some cautionary notes in using the Pearson chi-squared test statistic for the goodness-of-fit of the ordinal response model. If a model includes continuous type explanatory variables, the resulting table from the t of a model is not a regular one in the sense that the cell boundaries are not fixed but randomly determined by some other criteria. The chi-squared statistic from this kind of table does not have a limiting chi-square distribution in general and we need to be very cautious of the use of a chi-squared type goodness-of-t test. We also study the limiting distribution of the chi-squared type statistic for testing the goodness-of-t of cumulative logit models with ordinal responses. The regularity conditions necessary to the limiting distribution will be reformulated in the framework of the cumulative logit model by modifying those of Moore and Spruill (1975). Due to the complex limiting distribution, a parametric bootstrap testing procedure is a good alternative and we explained the suggested method through a practical example of an ordinal response dataset.

KCS 선형의 규칙파 중 구속모형시험에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Captive Model Test of KCS in Regular Waves)

  • In order to investigate maneuvering characteristics of KCS in waves, captive model test in regular waves was conducted. Purpose of the test is measuring maneuvering hull forces when ship is maneuvering in waves. Model test was carried out using CPMC (Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) of ocean engineering basin in KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean engineering). Total 6 degrees-of-freedom motion were fixed by two points supporting captive model test device, which is specially designed for this test. This system estimates 6 degrees-of-freedom forces and moments through 12 strain gauge signals. Mapping matrix from strain gauge signals to 6 degrees-of-freedom forces and moments was derived by a well-organized calibration test. Static drift test was conducted in calm sea and in regular waves with various wave conditions. Hydrodynamic coefficients related to drift angle were extracted for each wave conditions, and the effect of waves on course stability was analyzed.
