In this paper, we develop an approach toward JSC(Joint Source-Channel Coding) method for MPEG-4 based FGS(Fine Granular Scalability) video coding and transmission in fixed and mobile receiving environment(Digital Audio Broadcasting, DAB). The source coder used MPEG-4 FGS video codec, the channel coder used RCPC(Rate Compatible Punctured Convolution) code and the modulation method used QPSK modulation. We have considered channel environment of AWGN and mobile receiving environment. This study determined optimum Trade-off point between source bit rate and channel coding rate in variable channel states. We compared FGS-JSC method and general single layer CBR(Constant Bit Rate) transmission. In this results, FGS-JSC was appeared better performance than CBR transmission.

In Korea, the quantitative growth rate of artificial reef construction is supposed to reach the peak point. Therefore, new approach is needed to the point of artificial reefs business. Functional reefs, such as shellfish reefs, recreational reefs, seaweed reefs, and fish reefs, are beneficial alternatives. This study conducted hydraulic testing to assess the stability of corrugated artificial reefs (ARs) that were constructed to promote the growth of shellfish and seaweed. The results of this study showed that some dimensionless design parameters affected the stability of corrugated artificial reefs under a range of wave and water depth conditions in a fixed bed condition. The findings also highlight the importance of hydraulic experiments in solving the problems that have emerged in the design and construction of artificial reefs.
It examined the doubt point which AED motive relates until now, the AED should have bought a life how, present address of our country site pre-hospital care, comparison it tried to observe the advanced nation instance back. Gist of this research the AED important cold region once compared to informed to how many cardiac arrest patient, against him the what kind of preparation wanted informing the necessary cold region. It soaks simultaneously but the AED motive is widely supplied distant in future and it is generality and it is feeble but it wanted doing one morning. The habit difference of an American who does of course meat diet mainly and a Korean is many and it compares in the United States and the cardiac arrest patient comparison occurs holds a point few. To become Western anger but and be caused by with thin dietary life, stanching bleeding cung, with the fact that the heart attack is increasing rapidly with the hyperextension. It is a talk which anyone it knows all. The major league most Choi huy Sub in condition will catch the ball which floats and the multi co-player and to collide when falling down, the medical device which is committed with emergency aid is AED motive. From the United States subway station and the shopping which are a public place on the baseball field outside the jar which it will drive, the museum and the school, easily there is it will be able to discover the AED from the court of justice back. Objective : During the trans-condylar or trans-jugular approach for the lesion of cranio-cervical junction(CCJ), its necessary to identify the accurate locations of vertebral artery(VA), internal jugular vein(IJV) and its related lower cranial nerves. These neurovascular structures can also be damaged during the operation for vascular tumor or traumatic aneurysm around extra-jugular foramen, because of their changed locations. To reduce the neurovascular injury at the operation for CCJ, morphometric relationship of its surrounding neurovascular structures based on the tip of the transverse process of atlas(C1 TP), were studied. Materials & Methods : Using 10 adult formalin fixed cadavers, tip of mastoid process(MT) and TPs of atlas and axis were exposed bilaterally after removal of occipital and posterior neck muscles. Using standard caliper, the distances were measured from the C1 TP to the following structures : 1) exit point of VA from C1 transverse foramen, 2) branching point of muscular artery from VA, 3) entry point of VA into posterior atlanto-occipital membrane(AOM), 4) branching point of C-1 nerve. In addition, the distances were measured from the mid-portion of the posterior arch of atlas to the entry point of the VA into AOM and to the exit point of the VA from C1 transverse foramen. After removal of the ventrolateral neck muscles, neurovascular structures were exposed in the extra-jugular foraminal region. Distances were then measured from the C1 TP to the following structures : 1) just extra-jugular foraminal IJV and lower cranial nerves, 2) MT and branching point of facial nerve in parotid gland. In addition, distance between MT and branching point of facial nerve was measured. Results : The VA was located at the mean distance of 12mm(range, 10.5-14mm) from the C1 transverse foramen and entered into the AOM at the mean distance of 24mm(range, 22.8-24.4mm) from the C1 TP. The mean distance from the mid portion of the C1 posterior arch was 20.6mm(range, 19.1-22.3mm) to the entry point of the VA into AOM and 38.4mm(range, 34-42.4mm) to the exit point of the VA from C1 transverse foramen. Muscular artery branched away from the posterior aspect of the transverse portion of VA below the occipital condyle at the mean distance of 22.3mm(range, 15.3-27.5mm) from the C1 TP. The C-1 nerve was identified in all specimens and ran downward through the ventroinferior surface of the transverse segment of VA and branched at the mean distance of 20mm(range, 17.7-20.3mm) from the C1 TP. The IJV was located at the mean distance of 6.7mm(range, 1-13.4mm) ventromedially from the lateral surface of the C1 TP. The XI cranial nerve ran downward on the lateral surface of the IJV at the mean distance of 5mm(range, 3-7.5mm) from the C1 TP. Both IX and X cranial nerves were located in the soft tissue between the medial aspect of the internal carotid artery(ICA) and the medial aspect of the IJV at the mean distance of 15.3mm(range, 13-24mm) and 13.7mm(range, 11-15.4mm) from the C1 TP, respectively. The IX cranial nerve ran downward ventroinferiorly crossing the lateral aspect of the ICA. The X cranial nerve ran downward posteroinferior to the IX cranial nerve and descended posterior to the ICA. The XII cranial nerve was located between the posteroinferior aspect of the IX cranial nerve and the posterior aspect of the ICA at the mean distance of 13.3mm(range, 9-15mm) ventromedially from the C1 TP. The distance between MT and C1 TP was 17.4mm(range, 12.5-23.9mm). The VII cranial nerve branched at the mean distance of 10.2mm(range, 6.8-15.3mm) ventromedially from the MT and at the mean distance of 17.3mm(range, 13-21mm) anterosuperiorly from the C1 TP. Conclusion : This study facilitates an understanding of the microsurgical anatomy of CCJ and may help to reduce the neurovascular injury at the surgery around CCJ.

The empirical method is used to integration adjustment for the coordinates revision of a national control point but the existing values are not to be changed or changed with small variation by suitable datum selection (for example, fixed points). This paper treats the modified weighted station parameter adjustment by quasi-observations, and the method used only variance elements of existing coordinates which is substituted for all covariance elements. The movement detection of unstable points and the junction adjustment of new networks are successfully executed by the method, in integration of new secondary networks to old-secondary-triangulation points which are in the absence of the original observations in Korea. The investigation results reveal that the accuracy of old-secondary-triangulation points is ${\pm}16^{{\prime}{\prime}}$(${\pm}0.08m$), which results from the densification of test network and the analyses of old survey specifications. and is ${\pm}2.3^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ in fixing of old-secondary-triangulation points.

Shoulder joint is the most movable joint in human body with, at least, three degrees of freedom, since there are at least three bones and five joints involved in shoulder movement. Due to the complexity of the shoulder joint and the lack of appropriate anatomical data, modeling of the shoulder joint has been known to be extremely difficult. In many biomechanical models being used, shoulder joint is considered as a fixed point and it is also assumed that the shoulder joint does not noticeably move during the shoulder movement. However, such an assumption is not valid in real applications and causes inaccuracy, especially, in the area of workspace evaluation. The reachable area generated by a human becomes somewhat different from that of current models for those models fail to appropriately reflect the movement of shoulder joint's center of rotation. In this study, the location of the shoulder joint's center of rotation was obtained in relation to the location of humerus, on which a new model for reach envelope generation was developed for workspace evaluation. From the experiments conducted for three subjects, the initial location of the center of rotation was determined for each subject and subsequent changes in the instantaneous center of rotation were drawn as a function of flexion and abduction of the shoulder. Based on the regression analysis, the study suggested a new method for the generation of reach envelope. Comparisons were also made among real reach envelopes obtained from the experiment, the ones from the model, and the ones from the new method suggested in the study. As a result, the prediction errors incurred from the new method were significantly reduced when compared to the ones from the current approach.

In this paper, we propose a new indoor location estimation method which combines the fingerprint technique with the propagation prediction model. The wireless LAN (WLAN) access points (APs) deployed indoors are divided into public APs and private APs. While the fingerprint method can be easily used to public APs usually installed in fixed location, it is difficult to apply the fingerprint scheme to private APs whose location can be freely changed. In the proposed approach, the accuracy of user location estimation is improved by simultaneously utilizing public and private APs. Specifically, the fingerprint method is used to the received signals from public APs and the propagation prediction model is employed to the signals from private APs. The performance of the proposed method is compared with that of conventional indoor location estimation schemes through measurements and numerical simulations in WLAN environments.

This paper deals with a systematic approach to neural network controller design for static VAR compensator (SVC) using a learning algorithm of error back propagation that accepts error and change of error as inputs, the momentum learning technique is used for reduction of learning time, to improve system stability. A SVC, one of the Flexible AC Transmission System(FACTS), constructed by a fixed capacitor(FC) and a thyristor controlled reactor(TCR), is designed and implemented to improve the damping of a synchronous generator, as well as controlling the system voltage.TO verify the robustness of the proposed method, we considered the dynamic response of generator rotor angle deviation, angular velocity deviation and generator terminal voltage by applying a power fluctuation and rotor angle fluctuation in initial point when heavy load and normal load. Thus, we prove the usefulness of proposed method to improve the stability of single machine-infinite bus with SVC system.
The permeate flux decline due to membrane fouling can be addressed using a variety of theoretical stand-points. Judicious selection of an appropriate theory is a key toward successful prediction of the permeate flux. The essential criterion f3r such a decision appears to be a detailed characterization of the feed solution and membrane properties. Modem theories are capable of accurately predicting several properties of colloidal systems that are important in membrane separation processes from fundamental information pertaining to the particle size, charge, and solution ionic strength. Based on such information, it is relatively straight-forward to determine the properties of the concentrated colloidal dispersion in a polarized layer or the cake layer properties. Incorporation of such information in the framework of the standard theories of membrane filtration, namely, the convective diffusion equation coupled with an appropriate permeate transport model, can lead to reasonably accurate prediction of the permeate flux due to colloidal fouling. The schematic of the essential approach has been delineated in Figure 5. The modern approaches based on appropriate cell models appear to predict the permeate flux behavior in crossflow membrane filtration processes quite accurately without invoking novel theoretical descriptions of particle back transport mechanisms or depending on adjust-able parameters. Such agreements have been observed for a wide range of particle size ranging from small proteins like BSA (diameter ${\~}$6 nm) to latex suspensions (diameter ${\~}1\;{\mu}m$). There we, however, several areas that need further exploration. Some of these include: 1) A clear mechanistic description of the cake formation mechanisms that clearly identifies the disorder to order transition point in different colloidal systems. 2) Determining the structure of a cake layer based on the interparticle and hydrodynamic interactions instead of assuming a fixed geometrical structure on the basis of cell models. 3) Performing well controlled experiments where the cake deposition mechanism can be observed for small colloidal particles (< $1\;{\mu}m$). 4) A clear mechanistic description of the critical operating conditions (for instance, critical pressure) which can minimize the propensity of colloidal membrane fluting. 5) Developing theoretical approaches to account for polydisperse systems that can render the models capable of handing realistic feed solutions typically encountered in diverse applications of membrane filtration.
Modeling of the three phase electric arc furnace and its voltage flicker mitigation are the purposes of this paper. For modeling of the electric arc furnace, at first, the arc is modeled by using current-voltage characteristic of a real arc. Then, the arc random characteristic has been taken into account by modulating the ac voltage via a band limited white noise. The electric arc furnace compensation with static VAr compensator, Thyristor Controlled Reactor combined with a Fixed Capacitor bank (TCR/FC), is discussed for closed loop control of the compensator. Instantaneous flicker sensation curves, before and after accomplishing compensation, are measured based on IEC standard. A new method for controlling TCR/FC compensator is proposed. This method is based on applying a predictive approach with closed loop control of the TCR/FC. In this method, by using the previous samples of the load reactive power, the future values of the load reactive power are predicted in order to consider the time delay in the compensator control. Also, in closed loop control, two different approaches are considered. The former is based on voltage regulation at the point of common coupling (PCC) and the later is based on enhancement of power factor at PCC. Finally, in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology, the simulation results are provided.
