  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the sin satisfaction and fitness of Chinese women for Korean-made women's suits. The study methodology was questionnaire survey and the subjects were randomly chosen, 20 to 49-year-old female shoppers at department stores in Beijing, China. The data analyses were performed with SPSS 12.0 through descriptive analysis, t-test, and crosstab analysis. The findings were as follows. Chinese women assessed both the fit satisfaction and fit suitability levels of Korean-made women's suits available in China to be higher than that of Chinese-made women's suits. Paticularly, in the tan of slacks showing the lowest suitability level among Chinese-made women's wear, Korean-made women's suits in China had outstandingly high suitability level. In the case of jackets, however, the Korean-made women's suits went through more fixings, on average, than Chinese-made women's suits. In addition, more fixings were done for enlargement than for contraction, which necessitated the measure changes.

  • This study analyzed the purchasing behavior for underwear, with the subjects of pregnant women, and the trend of its fit preference and thereby looks into the practices of their clothing life to provide the basic data for the formation of maternity clothing industry, focusing on the underwear development in response to pregnant women's body type features. The conclusion were as follows: 1. The analysis of underwear wearing practices for the women in the pregnancy of eight months or longer and those after the delivery within one month showed that about 80-90% of them wore panties or brassieres and about 70% of them did not wear girdles, thus with a lower level for girdles than for panties or brassieres. 2. The surveys of the satisfaction and fit for two designs each with the high wearing frequency did not show any relatively significant difference in assessment by the design. The analysis of the satisfaction by the part with the maternity underwear indicated that in the case of panties the respondents were dissatisfied with the length as to be long, and also dissatisfied with waist circumference, abdomen circumference, private parts, and groin as to be small, reflecting that the circumference coverage of the panties in the market was not effectively managed.

  • Inverse Gaussian distribution is widely used in applications to analyze and model right-skewed data. To assess the appropriateness of the distribution prior to data analysis, Mudholkar and Tian (2002) proposed an entropy-based test of fit. The test is based on the entropy power fraction(EPF) index suggested by Gokhale (1983). The simulation results report that the power of the entropy-based test is superior compared to other goodness-of-fit tests; however, this observation is based on the small-scale simulation results on the standard exponential, Weibull W(1; 2) and lognormal LN(0:5; 1) distributions. A large-scale simulation should be performed against various alternative distributions to evaluate the power of the entropy-based test; however, the use of a theoretical method is more effective to investigate the powers. In this paper, utilizing the information discrimination(ID) index defined by Ehsan et al. (1995) as a mathematical tool, we scrutinize the power of the entropy-based test. The selected alternative distributions are the gamma, Weibull and lognormal distributions, which are widely used in data analysis as an alternative to inverse Gaussian distribution. The study results are provided and an illustrative example is analyzed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test a model of nursing competencies of nursing simulation learners. The conceptual model was based on the theory of Jeffries's simulaton theory. Methods: Data collection was conducted in October 2017 for 310 students from two nursing universities in Kyungbuk area for 20 days. Data analysis methods were covariance structure analysis using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical programs. Results: The hypothetical model was a good fit for the data. The model fit indices were comparative fit index=.97, normed fit index=.94, Tucker-Lewis Index=.97, root mean square error of approximation=.44, and standardized root mean square residual=.04. Teacher factors were directly related to simulation design characteristics, and it was confirmed that the curriculum, classroom operation and teaching method of the instructors were important factors. Learner factors were found to have a direct effect on nursing competence, self-confidence, and clinical performance that belong to nursing capacity. In particular, the results of this study indicate that the simulation design characteristics have a partial mediating effect on learner factors and clinical performance, and a complete mediating effect on learner factors and clinical judgment ability. Conclusion: In order to improve the learner's clinical performance and clinical judgment ability, it is necessary to conduct practical training through nursing simulation besides preparing the learner and the educator.

  • This study aims to develop the designs and patterns of yoga tops that are better adjusted to suit females in their 30s and 40s. After conducting a comparative analysis of three different popular yoga garments, one yoga top currently on the market was selected. Subsequently, a fit evaluation was conducted on Trail 1-garment α, which was developed body analysis performed based on selected yoga top C, followed by the production of the Trial 2 garment after making adjustments according to the comparative observation results. Based on these results, garment C with the longest top length was evaluated as the best. The results of the evaluation of appearance and fit conducted of Trial 1-garment α compared to those of C showed that Trial 1-garment α was superior in both evaluations. Trial 2-garment β was produced after making improvements on Trial 1-garment α and then placed under identical comparative evaluation condition as Trial 1-garment α. Results showed a significant improvement compared to Trial 1-garment α, and the Trial 2 garment with an additional arm pattern was shown to be superior in shoulder strap width stability, shoulder strap pressure, chest stability, degree of waist pressure, waist comfort, general fitting, and supportiveness.

  • In fitting models to data, selection of the most desirable estimation method and determination of the adequacy of fitted model are the central issues. This paper compares the maximum likelihood estimators and the minimum logit chi-square estimators, both being best asymptotically normal, when logit models are fitted to infant mortality data. Chi-square goodness-of-fit test and likelihood ratio one are also compared. The analysis infant mortality data shows that the outlying observations do not necessarily result in the same impact on goodness-of-fit measures.

  • Linear-by-linear association models are commonly used to analyze ordered categorical data. To fit these models appropriate scores need to be chosen. In this paper we perform sensitivity analyses in two-way contingency tables to investigate the effect of scores on goodness-of-fits and on tests of significance. In addition we show that the best score which yields the best fit of data can be selected based on the sensitivity analysis results.
