한국(韓國) 연근해어선(沿近海漁船)의 특성(特性) (Characteristics of Korean Inshore Fishing Boats)

  • Korean fisheries industry holds 57,255 boats amounting to 269,079 tons in gross as of the end of 1967. The boats of the size under 30G.T., about sixty-two per cent of the total in tonnage, are utilized in coastal and their contribution to the total production of Korean fisheries industry is estimated at over seventy-five percent. Hull forms and construction method of them are partly in transition stage to the western tradition from the oriental tradition, which employs the chine-type straight-framed section, and tick and wide wooden planking fastened on naturally bent timber frames. And only about a half of them are mechanized. About fifty-seven per cent, 7,525 boats amounting to 91,751 gross tons, of the coastal and inshore fishing boats are those of the size ranging 5G.T. to 30G.T., which are engaged mostly in draft-and gill-netting, angling, longlining, anchovy seining, squid fishing and set-netting. The important fishing boats forming main structure of the inshore fishing fleets can be classified as 5G.T.-class multi-purpose boats, 10G.T.-class angling/longlining boats and 20G.T.-class drift-/gill-netters mostly utilized in the east-sea, 15G.T.-class anchovy seiner in the south-sea-sea, 20G.T.- and 28G.T.-class stow-netters in the west sea. Each of the three sea regions, east, south, and west, of Korean water has distinctly different characters from one another in topography, geology and sea aspects, and consequently in marine resources, fishing grounds and fishing tactics desired. Hence, the finishing boats in each sea region have also their own characters in hull form, structural features, deck design and equipments. In this report, analyzing the characteristics of the existing inshore fishing boats ranging 5G.T. to 30G.T. in size from view points of naval architecture and engineering, the author made an integrated investigation of their characteristics, covering size and principal dimensions, hull form, deck design, structural features and mechanization, in close connection with the natural circumstances of Korean water and local techno-socio-economic problems, and, finally, made some suggestions for the rational improvement or modernization of the inshore fishing boats. Further details of the characteristics of Korean inshore finishing boats are referred to the drawings of them compiled by the author and given in the reference[23] listed at the end of this report.

한국 저속 소형 연안어선의 저항성능 (Resistance Performance of Korean Small Coastal Fishing Boat in Low-Speed Range)

  • Korean small coastal fishing boats have the different kind of fisheries and customs against Japanese fishing boats. Those bring some influences on the principal parameters of hull form. In same displacement, Korean small coastal fishing boat has generally shorter length, draft and wider breadth than Japanese fishing boat. Furthermore, even though the parameters of each hull form are similar, it is known that the resistance performance of Korean small coastal fishing boat is worse than that of Japanese fishing boat. In this study, the representative hull forms of Korean and Japanese small coastal fishing boats are selected and compared to evaluate the resistance performance of Korean fishing boat in low-speed range. The hull form of the Korean fishing boat is modified as comparison with that of the Japanese fishing boat to confirm the partial characteristic differences between the hull forms and the resistance performances. The representative partial characteristics of hull form are the gradient of chine line, keel shape and stern length. The resistance performances of the modified hull forms are evaluated by INHAWAVE which is one of CFD program and model tests in towing tank. The results of the present study will be used to improve the resistance performance and to develop the practical hull form of Korean small coastal fishing boats as principal data in the preliminary hull form design of fishing boats.

통계적 회귀계수를 이용한 어선의 유효 마력 추정법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation Method of EHP of Fishing Boats Use Statistical Regression Analysis)

  • 모형저항시험 자료를 토대로 선형요소들에 대한 통계 회귀계수를 만들고, 이를 이용하여 새로운 어선의 기본설계 단계에서 유효마력을 추정할 수 있는 방법을 정립하였다. 이러한 방법을 Chine Line이 있는 소형 표준어선 4척과 Round Bottom형 표준어선 2척에 적용하여 유효마력을 추정하였으며, 이를 실험값과 비교하였다. 이 6척 어선의 경우 전속도 범위에서 추정치와 실험치가 잘 일치하고 있는 것과 근접한 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 작성된 수치계산법은 어선의 유효마력추정에 매우 유용하게 쓰일 수 있음이 입증되었다. 따라서 제안된 방법을 어선설계에 적용하면, 직접적으로는 저항성능을 개선할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 설계공수단축, 원가절감 등에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 국내외 매년 지속적으로 증가하는 대기오염의 상당량이 선박에서 배출되고 있으며, 이러한 선박에서의 배출량을 감축하기 위해 정부는 환경규제를 강화하고 해양대기환경 개선을 위해 「환경친화적 선박의 개발 및 보급 촉진에 관한 법률」을 제정 및 시행하여 친환경 에너지를 동력원으로 사용하는 환경친화적 선박을 보급하여 해양오염 저감 기술이 개발되도록 하고 있다. 환경친화적 선박의 기술은 최근 순수 전기추진 내지는 전기복합 추진체계까지 진화하고 있으나, 선박의 안전한 운용을 위한 검사 및 설비기준 등 관련제도의 정비는 이를 못 따라가는 실정으로, 특히 국내 연안선박의 다수를 차지하는 어선에 대한 제도는 정비가 시급한 시점이다. 이번 연구를 통해 어선에의 전기복합 추진체계 등의 적용을 위해 핵심기자재인 배터리, 전력변환장치 등을 정의하고 이에 필요한 안전기준을 진단, 마련하여 친환경 어선의 도입과 보급을 위해 관련된 산업을 지원할 수 있도록 최소한의 안전기준안을 마련하고자 한다.

Evaluating the Application Feasibility of Lithium-Battery Electric Propulsion for Fishing Boats

  • Many small vessels such as fishing boats operate in the world's oceans; accordingly, interest in these small vessels' exhaust-gas problem is increasing. Research on the application of electric-propulsion technology has been steadily conducted; however, the subject is limited to research ships or leisure boats, while research on application efficiency remains insufficient. This study attempts to apply lithium-battery electric-propulsion technology to small ships. A gross tonnage of 9.77, a representative fishing boat, is to be redesigned as a fully electrified ship. Without changing the main cabin's dimensions and fuel tanks, the ship's propulsion system is redesigned based on a lithium-battery electric-propulsion system. In addition, the redesigned system is compared with the original sample ship's diesel-propulsion system for application-effect analysis. The results indicate that under controlled sailing conditions, the weight and volume of the electric-propulsion system are 9.5 and 10.5 times those of the diesel-propulsion system, respectively. These values indicate that the system cannot meet fishing boats' high endurance requirements. Therefore, under the existing technical conditions, applying the full lithium-battery electric-propulsion system to solve the problem of high emissions from fishing boats shows limited feasibility.

어업경영체간 생산효율성 격차 분석을 통한 정책방향 고찰 - 근해안강망어업을 중심으로 - (The Research on the GaP of Technical Efficiency in Korean Fishing Managements : The Case Study on the Off-shore Stow Nets Fishery)

  • Main target of fishing policy was enlargement of fishing catches in Korea after 1960s. This has caused sustainable decrease of the amount on the fisheries resource. In the result, fishing managements in Korea have suffered from aggravation of management. In this research, it is estimated the technical efficiency on Korean Off-shore Stow Nets Fishery that was made publication by Farrel in 1957. According to the analysis, Its were excessive to the gap of technical efficiency among Korean Off-shore Stow Nets Fishing boats. The gaps were excessive not only among each fishing managements but also by tonnage class and by region. Then we can recognize we need the change of Fishing Policy. That is, we should change for main target of fishing policy from enlargement of fishing catches to the policy of Price. And we should consider the supply of standard tonnage boats and specialization of fisheries by regions.

소형어선의 소음에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Airborne Noise of the Small Fishing Boats)

  • In full-speed cruising, the airborne sound pressure levels are measured from 11 small fishing boats operated around Cheju Island. In these measurement, 9 measuring positions are selected in each fishing boats. The results of measurements and analyses are as follows: 1. The sound pressure levels in FRP boats are higher than those in wooden boats. 2. The highest sound pressure level is 112dB(A) at the engine room in C boat, while the lowest one is 72dB(A) at the front deck in K boat. 3. The highest sound pressure level is shown to be in the frequency band less than 500Hz. 4. The highest sound pressure level is shown to be in the frequency band less than 500Hz. 5. Through all 9 positions, the sound pressure levels are higher in B and C boat and lower in E and K boats.

소형어선(小型漁船)의 유효마력추정(有效馬力推定) 및 선형설계법(船型設計法) (A Study on the EHP Estimation and Design Procedure of Small Fishing Boat's Hull Form)

  • The computer programs of effective horsepower estimation of small fishing boat were developed, which was based on the statistical analysis of model test results. From the EHP estimation by these program and experimental model tests of practical fishing boats, the estimation accuracy was verified with maximum deviation of about 10 percent. Also, the EHP estimation accuracy was practically applied to initial design of four small fishing boats, and after the tank tests, the EHP reduction of the order of 15 to 25 percent was confirmed, as compared with existing ships. Moreover, a computer aided design procedure of fishing boat's hull form has been proposed in this study. The practical use of this procedure of fishing boat's hull form has been proposed in this study. The practical use of this procedure was demonstrated with the hull form design results of several fishing boats.

어선의 업종별 해양사고의 원인과 대책 (The causes and counterplan for marine casualties of fishing boats according to the fishing types)

  • According to the statistics of KMST (2010~2019), 68.5% of marine casualties have been occurred in fishing boats in the last 10 years. Although the incidence rate of annual average per ship is 10.4% for merchant ships and 2.3% for fishing boats, it is necessary to first reduce the marine casualties of fishing boats in order to reduce the occurrence of the whole marine casualty, considering that the number of registered fishing boats are 86.5% of the total. In this study, the top 10 fishing types with high occurring marine casualties in the past 10 years were selected using the statistics of KMST. Then, the causes of the marine casualties, focusing on the collision, were analyzed and counterplan were suggested. The biggest marine casualty that the top 10 fishing types have caused in the past 10 years was a collision, accounting for 71.7% of the total, and the rest were less than 10.0% each. Also, it was found that the biggest environment and cause of the collision were due to human factors such as poor look out or negligence of duty. Eventually, it was concluded that a reduction in the human factors for the causes basically, could lower the incidence of the marine casualties. Therefore, if the continuous and systematic correcting education of the attitude toward the ship operating of seafarers could conducted with the focus on the main human factors, the whole marine casualties will be expected to decrease gradually.

어선에서 사용되는 일본식 용어에 관한 실태 조사(I) -갑판부 사용 용어 중심으로- (Investigation and Research on Japanese Terms used in the Korean Fishing Boats)

  • In the Korean fishing boats, the abuse of Japanese term is intense. It becomes a reason of preventing the free communications between the crews who have been working for long time in the ship and crews who start new life in the ship as beginner. Also the former cannot feel and understand easily the contents of the textbook and manual which are explained with Korean or English terminology. It is reasonable that Japanese terms are no longer use in the vessel if possible. We searched and classified 170 or more Japanese terms which are used popularly in the fishing boats. So, we expect this paper is a basic research for the eradication of the Japanese terms in the Korean fishing boats.
