Based on a single adult and two juvenile fishes collected from the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Scartella emarginata was redescribed as the first reliable record from Korea. The species is characterized by having a median fringe of cirri on head, short branched supraorbital cirrus, and by lacking canine teeth on both jaws.

Three specimens (33.6-44.8 mm in standard length) of the family Bregmacerotidae, collected from the waters off south-western Jeju-do Island in October 2016, were identified as Bregmaceros nectabanus on the basis of morphological and molecular methods (DNA barcoding). This species is characterized by having 50-52 2nd dorsal fin rays, 52-53 anal fin rays, 13 principal caudal fin rays, an unpigmented abdomen, irregularly distributed dorsal chromatophores, and the origin of a dorsal fin slightly behind the anal fin. This is the first reliable record of B. nectabanus in Korea. According to Yoo et al. (1992), we propose a Korean name "Tae-Pyeong-Yang-Nal-Gae-Myeol" for this species. Also, we suggest key to species of these eight bregmacerotids from the northwestern Pacific.

Taractichthys steindachneri is described based on two specimens (224.7~406.5 mm SL) collected from the south sea including the adjacent water of Jeju Island, representing a reliable first record from Korea. The species is characterized by having well-separated each pelvic fin, semicircular groove on dorsal surface of caudal peduncle, well-elongated dorsal and anal fin rays, nearly uniformly blackish body color with white margined caudal fin.

Two specimens of Scomberoides tol (99.0 mm and 124.5 mm in total length), belonging to the family Carangidae, order Perciformes were collected from Korean waters using a gape net with wings and a hand net between 2014 and 2017. These specimens are characterized by having the origin of the soft-rayed portion of the dorsal fin just above the origin of the soft-rayed portion of the anal fin, dorsal spines not connected by fin membranes and posterior end of the maxilla and upper jaw not extending beyond the posterior margin of the eye. A comparison of mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I sequences indicated that these specimens matched Scomberoides tol (K2P distance, d = 0.002), but differed from other Scomberoides species (6.9-9.1%). This is the first reliable report of Scomberoides tol from Korea.

One specimen (181.0 cm; TL, total length) of Echinorhinus cookei was collected from Busan, Korea in 2014 using gill net. Echinorhinus cookei was characterized by having no anal fin, no spine at dorsal fin and numerous small dermal denticles at the placoid scale. This species is very similar to the congeneric species, E. brucus, but differed in the shape of placoid scale (star in E. cookei vs. round in E. brucus) and distribution of placoid scale (separated in E. cookei vs. slightly overlapped in E. brucus). We adopted the Korean name, Ga-si-bi-neul-sang-eo, for E. cookei, after Kim and Ryu (2017).

Two specimens of Taractes rubescens (family Bramidea) were collected from Busan and Pohang, Korea, between 2015 and 2016. Taractes rubescens was very similar to Taractes asper, but the two species are clearly distinguishable by the number of anal fin rays (21-23 in T. rubescens vs. 25-27 in T. asper) and the presence of a lateral caudal keel (present in T. rubescens vs. absent in T. asper). The mitochondrial DNA cytochrome c oxidase subunit I sequences of the specimens described in this paper perfectly matched those of T. rubescens, but differed from those of T. asper (genetic distance: 6.9%). We use the Korean common name proposed by Kim and Ryu (2017) for T. rubescens, "Geom-eun-sae-da-rae".

A single specimen of Liparis punctulatus (30.9 mm standard length) belonging to the family Liparidae, was collected in the waters off Busan on 4 August, 2016. This species is characterized by a single pair of nostrils, unlike other Liparis species. It is distinguished from L. ochotensis by the numbers of dorsal, anal, pectoral fin rays and the location of the gill opening (above the pectoral fin in L. punctulatus vs. extending ventrally in front of the pectoral fin). In the molecular analysis, 514 bp of 16S rRNA gene of the specimen in this study were identical to that of L. punctulatus from NCBI GenBank (K2P distance < 0.002). This is the first record of the species in Korea based on a voucher specimen, and we follow the Korean name "Kko-ma-kkom-chi" for this species proposed by Myoung et al. and Kim et al.

A single specimen of Festucalex erythraeus, belonging to the family Syngnathidae, was first collected from Seogwipo, Korea, on August 12, 2019. This species is characterized by a low median dorsal snout ridge, and a lateral trunk ridge extending to the last trunk ring. Festucalex erythraeus is similar to the congeneric species, F. rufus: however, it is distinguished by the number of tail rings (32-37 in F. erythraeus vs. 31 in F. rufus). Here, we suggest the new Korean names "Min-sil-go-gi-sog" for the genus Festucalex and "Deung-huin-jeom-sil-go-gi" for the species F. erythraeus.

Eleotris oxycephala was described in detail as the first reliable record from Korea based on a single specimen (62.1 mm SL) collected from the lower reach of Jwagwang stream near Busan, Korea. The specimen is easily distinguished from three congeners occurring in the northern West Pacific by having separation between two rows of sensory papillae on opercle and the fourth row of the papillae on cheek not extending beyond the 11th longitudinal sensory-papillae.

Two functions are considerable in the record management of policy management system operation. The first one is to prove that shows the conforming status of the management system requirements. The second one is to prove that shows the performing status whether the policy management system is operating effectively to the company. However, the second function requires the high level data analysis techniques, and it is more important for the decision making of the company operations. That is, the second function is more closer than the first function to the top manager's policy management tool. This paper is prepared to offer a study on the desirable record management which is necessary to the scientific decision making process. The scientific decision making requires the analysis of data derived from the reliable records. It is also aimed to enlighten the relations between the reliability of records and the adoption of the results of analysis in associated with the top manager's decision making.
