한국 아동패널 2008-2012 자료를 활용한 자녀 출산 후 5년간의 부부의 결혼만족도 변화궤적 (Trajectories of Marital Satisfaction of Married Couples From Childbirth to 5 Years Postpartum: The Panel Study of Korea Children 2008-2012)

  • Objective: This study aimed to explore marital satisfaction changes of married couples from childbirth to 5 years postpartum using the data from the Panel Study of Korean Children 2008-2012. Methods: A total of 2,072 coupes were followed longitudinally during the first 5 years after childbirth. Their repeatedly measured marital satisfaction were analyzed with growth modeling analyses. Results: Husbands and wives had different marital satisfaction trajectories regarding the rate of change and initial marital satisfaction scores. Further, the facets of postpartum marital satisfactions change varied depending on the couples' first, second, and third (or more) birth(s). Conclusion: In general, Korean married couples' marital satisfaction has a decreasing tendency after childbirth. Fathers' marital satisfaction is generally higher but more rapidly decreases compared to mothers' marital satisfaction. Also, couples after first child birth experience a faster decline of marital satisfaction compared to couples after second or third (or more) birth(s).

  • The low birth rate in Korea reflects the declining desire to have children in this country due to rising emphasis on personal lifestyle. Since this phenomenon has accelerated, boosting the birth rate has become one of the most important policy tasks in Korea. The purpose of this research was to perform a case study based on women's lived experience to understand how the childbirth encouragement policy promoted by the government in order to boost the birth rate has affected the perception of childbirth among women. The findings are as follows : First, the effect of the childbirth encouragement policy on women's perceptions has been fairly low. Second, the social environment for encouraging childbirth is inadequate. Third, the economic burdens associated with childbirth and child care are still significant. Finally, the impact of the childbirth encouragement policy on changes in the perceptions of childbirth has been minimal. Based on these findings, various motivations for changes in the perceptions of childbirth among women were identified, leading to the following conclusion: Establishing a long-term childbirth encouragement policy is an effective way to boost the childbirth rate.

  • Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of an experience-focused prenatal program on stress, anxiety, childbirth confidence, and maternal-fetal attachment for women in their first pregnancy. Methods: The participants were 57 pregnant women at 32 weeks or more of a first pregnancy who agreed to participate in this study. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, $x^2$ test, and Fisher's exact test using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The experimental group showed significant differences in stress, anxiety, childbirth confidence, and maternal-fetal attachment from the control group. Conclusion: The four-week experience-focused prenatal program can be used for women in their first pregnancy to reduce their stress and anxiety and to increase their childbirth confidence and maternal-fetal attachment.

만 1세 첫째 자녀의 성별과 기질이 한 자녀 부모의 후속출산 계획 및 행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Firstborn's Gender and Temperament on the Fertility Intention and Follow-up Childbirth)

  • Objective: This study investigated the effects of the firstborn's gender and temperament on the fertility intention and follow-up childbirth of parents. Methods: A total 120 firstborns and their mothers were selected from the sample of the Panel Study on Korean Children. Child temperament traits were measured by Early Childhood Behavior Questionnaire(ECBQ) and mothers stated their fertility intention in 2009 when their first child was under 2 years old. Follow-up childbirth of mothers was assessed from the data of PSKC in 2016. Results: The results indicated that there was a significant difference by gender in follow-up birth. Among aspects of temperament, fertility intention was affected by the firstborn's inhibitory control and follow-up birth was affected by the firstborn's gender and discomfort. For mothers with a boy, the firstborn's soothability affected mothers' follow-up childbirth. Conclusion/Implications: These results imply that gender and temperament of the first child are connected to mothers' fertility intention and follow-up childbirth. Extra studies are required to clarify how those factors affect mothers' parenting or psychological status. Meanwhile, the firstborn's gender and temperament should be considered when developing support programs for families with one child in order to increase follow-up birth rate.

패널자료를 이용한 신혼가구의 주택점유형태와 출산 관계 연구 (Analysis of Relationship between Housing Tenure and Birth in Newlywed Couples by Using Panel Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국노동연구원의 '한국노동패널조사(KLIPS)' 자료를 이용하여 2011년(14차 년도)부터 2020년(23차 년도)까지 총 9개 년도의 신혼가구에 대한 패널자료를 구축하고, 가구의 이질성을 통제한 상관 확률효과 방법론을 적용하여 자가점유여부가 출산에 미치는 영향과 출산이 자가점유여부의 영향을 분석하고, 그 분석 결과를 선행연구에서 시도한 합동(pooled) 축차형 이변량 프로빗(Recursive Bivariate Probit)모형의 추정 결과와 비교하였다. 자가점유의 내생성뿐만 아니라 가구의 이질성을 고려한 모형으로 실증 분석한 결과, 자가점유는 신혼가구의 출산에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 전체 표본을 이용한 경우 자가점유 주택에 거주하는 신혼가구는 주택을 임차하여 거주하는 신혼가구에 비해 출산 확률이 6.2%p 높았으며, 둘째 자녀 출산에 대해서는 5.7%p 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 다만 첫째 자녀 출산에서는 자가점유와 출산변수간의 내생성이 확인되지 않아 확률효과 프로빗 모형으로 분석하였는데 이 경우 자가점유 가구가 임차가구에 비해 출산 확률이 오히려 7.5%p 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 자가점유가 출산회수에 따라 출산에 대한 영향력이 차별적으로 나타남을 시사한다. 첫 출산에서는 주택구입으로 인한 부담 등의 부정적 영향이 긍정적 영향보다 높았으며, 다자녀 출산에서는 자가점유가 제공하는 주거안정 등의 긍정적 효과가 부정적 효과보다 크게 나타난 것으로 보인다. 그리고 출산이 자가점유에 미치는 영향을 살펴보면, 출산을 최근 1년 이내에 한 가구가 그렇지 않은 가구에 비해 자가점유 확률이 출산을 최근 1년 이내에 한 가구가 그렇지 않은 가구에 비해 자가점유 확률이 전체표본에서는 4.2%p, 둘째 자녀 출산표본에서는 3.9% 가량 낮은 것으로 나타나 다자녀 출산으로 인한 양육비용 부담은 자가보유를 미루는 데 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

자녀 양육비와 둘째 자녀 출산의도 (Childrearing Expenditure and the Intension to Have the Second Childbirth)

  • This study investigated the association between the expenditures for childrearing and the intention to have the second childbirth applying the recursive equation models. The major results were as follows. First, more than half of the households with one child did not have an intention to have the second childbirth. Second, about 40% of the household expenditure was spent for childrearing. About 36% of the childrearing expenditure was spent on the childcare and education, and about 64% on purchase of goods and services for child. Third, the variables which had a significant effect on the intention to have the second childbirth were child's age, mother's education, father's income, the private educational expenditure, and consumption expenditure for child. The intention to have the second childbirth did not have a significant effect on the level of childrearing expenditure. The implications for the family policies were suggested.

젊은 기혼여성의 출산 후 취업연속성 결정요인 (Factors That Decide the Job Continuity of Young Mothers)

  • This study analyzes the critical factors that decide the job continuity of married women after one of their life events, childbirth. It is based on the employment data from KLIPS(Korea Labor and Income Panel Study). Vols. 1-4, having observed 128 young mothers who gave birth to children after 1997. The analysis showed that women's employment after their maternity leave depend on whether new mother return to their previous job or not. The Following results are obtained: First, women's age, education, availability of caretakers for their children, and family income have a positive effect on the women's return to their pre-leave employers after childbirth. Second, professional or office work and the frequency of job transition before childbirth have a positive effect on women's employment in new jobs after childbirth. Third, women's age, availability of caretakers of their children, and professional or office work are critical factors that have a positive effect on women's job continuity after childbirth, whereas the frequency of job transitions has a negative effect on employment for women.

의사결정나무분석을 적용한 비취업모와 취업모의 후속출산계획 예측요인 탐색 (Exploring predictors of subsequent childbirth plan for non-employed and employed mothers : The application of decision tree analysis)

  • 본 연구는 어머니의 개인적 관계적 속성과 현 자녀속성이 후속출산계획에 미치는 영향과 어머니의 취업여부에 따라 후속출산계획을 예측하는 요인을 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 본 연구대상은 한국아동패널조사에 참여한 어머니 1,635명이었으며, 조사도구는 어머니의 월평균 가구소득, 양육스트레스, 자녀가치, 결혼만족도, 사회적 지원, 기존 자녀의 출생순위와 성별을 측정하기 위한 자기기입식 설문지이었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계와 t 검증 및 ${\chi}^2$ 검증, 의사결정나무분석을 통해 분석되었다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 양육스트레스, 자녀가치, 결혼만족도, 사회적 지원, 자녀의 출생순위와 성별은 후속 출산계획에 영향을 미친 반면 월평균 가구소득은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 비취업모의 경우 자녀의 출생순위와 성별, 자녀가치가 후속출산계획을 예측하는 주요인으로 제시되었는데, 현 자녀가 첫째이면서 여아일 경우 후속출산계획을 수립할 가능성이 가장 높았으며, 자녀가 첫째이면서 남아일 경우 자녀에 가치를 부여하는 정도가 높을수록 후속출산계획을 수립하는 것으로 나타났다. 취업모의 경우 자녀의 출생순위와 결혼만족도가 후속출산계획을 가장 잘 예측하는 요인으로 나타났으며, 현 자녀가 첫째이면서 결혼만족도가 높을 경우 후속출산계획을 수립할 가능성이 높았다. 마지막으로, 후속출산율 제고방안으로, 인구교육의 필요성과 가정교과의 역할을 제안하였다.

출산준비 교육이 초산모 배우자의 지식 및 분만참여에 미치는 효과 (Effects of a Prepared Childbirth Education on the Knowledge and Delivery Participation Levels of the Spouses of Primiparas)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of a prepared childbirth education on the knowledge and delivery participation levels of the spouses of primiparas. Method: The study's subjects were a convenience sample of 126 spouses, consisting of an experimental group of 74 educated for prepared childbirth for 10 hours. This study was measured by using a 41-item measurement instrument for knowledge of childbirth that was devised from Kang's(1981) instrument and a 23-item measurement instrument for measuring delivery levels which was developed through clinical experiences. The data gathered as analyzed by using SPSS WIN10.0. Result: There were no significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in homogeneity concerning the general characteristics of the spouses of primiparas. The first hypothesis, which stated that the level of knowledge of childbirth in the experimental group who received prepared childbirth education would be higher than in control group, was statistically supported by the Compared Independent Sample t-test(t=17.92, p=.000). The second hypothesis, which stated that the level of participation of delivery in the experimental group who received prepared childbirth education would be higher than in the control group, was also statistically supported (t=28.87, p=.000). The third hypothesis, which stated that there would be a correlation between the level of knowledge and the level of participation in the experimental group who received prepared childbirth education, showed a high positive correlation(r=.810, p=.000). Conclusion: The above results indicate that the increase of knowledge through prepared childbirth education in the spouses of primiparas has a high correlation with delivery partici- pation levels which engenders physical and moral support for primiparas at delivery. Additionally, a varied prepared childbirth education acts as an effective means to increase under- standing and support for primiparas couples who experience tension, anxiety and fear due to an unprepared delivery in Korea.

사무직 기혼여성의 출산후 취업지속 결정요인 (Married Women's Decision on the Job Continuity after Childbirth)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore systemetically what makes working women continue or interrupt their job after childbirth, An empirical survey was conducted by using questionnaire and data from 194 women who had clerical job before first childbirth. The major findings are as follows : (1) The significant differences between the two groups are caused by family orientation, motherhood, average monthly wage of her own, emotional support, child carer in the family, maternal policy. (2) The probability of continuing job is higher when the public supports are offered to working married women than in case of being supported privately.
