A Study on the Escape capacity for Evacuation safety Design of PBD foothold in Korea(II) (국내 PBD기반 피난안전설계를 위한 피난용량 산정에 관한 연구(II) - 멀티플렉스 공간의 재실자밀도 조사 -)

  • As the rapid and various changing of social aspects, the structures are getting bigger, higher and more complex. The importance of evacuation is on the rise as increased using frequency of multiplex area and it's high population density. According to the result of a survey with 2 domestic multiplex population density, the maximum was 0.43(人/$m^2$) and 0.51(人/$m^2$). considering evacuation dangerousness, the maximum value will be suitable for computation of evacuation capacity and this will be submitted as a basic data for computation of evacuation capacity.

  • 현대사회가 핵가족화 되면서 2000년에는 노인인구비율이 7%에 육박하였고, 2022년에는 고령사회의 기준이 되는 14%를 넘게 될 전망이다. 실버타운은 노인들이 안락을 위해 자녀를 벗어나 독립된 생활을 하는 건축물로서, 고령화 노인들이 크게 증가함에 따라 대형화, 고층화, 다기능화 되는 추세에 있으며, 이에 따라 화재로 인한 잠재적 위험성이 커지게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 성능위주설계(PBD : Performance Based Design)에 입각하여 실제 A 건물의 실버타운을 선정하고 이에 대한 화재 및 피난 시나리오를 작성 후 화재 및 피난 시뮬레이션 해석을 통해 피난성능을 평가하여 향후 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 최근 건축물은 초고층화 대형화 지하심층화 되어가고 있다. 이러한 건축물의 성능적인 피난안전성을 확보하기 위한 대책으로서 성능설계, 화재영향평가, 초고층 및 지하연계 방재관련 특별법 등 많은 제도가 시행되지만 구체적인 방법론이 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 성능적인 피난안전성을 확보하기 위하여 피난행동 중 수직적인 피난속도식을 제안하기 위하여 지하공간의 계단을 선정하여 관찰하였다.

  • The number of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers has increased drastically, and accordingly, the power capacities and main line lengths of electric power systems for fire protection are also rapidly increasing. This is generating new of problems like shortages in power capacities and increases of main line voltage drops outside of the rated voltage range. This problem can have serious effects on fire protection systems and a variety of electric devices may not work properly in emergencies. As such, theoretical calculations were performed for these systems in an actual fire protection facility. The problems in the electric power system were extracted and analyzed, and the results show that it is necessary to search for new measures for the safe and rational design and operation of electric power systems for fire protection.

An Analysis and Evaluation of Fire Resistance Performance for the Protected Steel Columns in Korea (국내 피복 철골기둥의 내화 성능 분석 및 평가)

  • Main structural steel members need fire-resistance measures to ensure their fire-resistance performance for a prescribed time. This paper analyzes and evaluates the fire-resistance performance of approved Korean fire-protection products for steel columns. These products are classified into products for board protection and for spray protection, samples of which were selected for the analysis. The fire-resistance performance was analyzed on the basis of Korean and European standards. The Korean standards are considered additional to the Euro-code standards for performance design. The Korean standards generally take more precautions to ensure safety on the temperature side, but require the reflection of material properties, the steel temperature calculation methodology, the profile factor, and the strength verification in a fire.

  • Over 100 experiments have been conducted at the University of Maryland to evaluate the performance of a water mist fire suppression system for protection of an interstitial space below a raised subfloor. Experiments are conducted as part of an ongoing research effort to compare the fire suppression capabilities of various water mist system designs in a raised subfloor space. Water mist system design parameters considered in the investigation include means of actuation, concentration of water mist required for extinguishment of fires, and delivery mechanisms of water mist within close proximity to the fire. Delivery of the required concentration of water mist within close proximity to the fire is a principal factor governing the adequacy of water mist systems. Two sets of experiments have been conducted to document the performance of water mist system designs. One set is involved in documenting the concentration of water mist as a function of position within the space. The second set of experiments is concerned with the ability of water mist system designs to control fires in the space. One result of the research is the assessment of the ability of a water mist system to control fires at particular locations as a function of water mist density at that location.

  • 고강도 콘크리트 기둥의 내화성능을 향상시키기 위한 설계지침을 개발하기 위한 연구프로그램의 전체적 결과가 도출되었다. 고강도 콘크리트 기둥과 보통강도 콘크리트 기둥의 내화성능을 비교하였다. 화재상태에서 고강도 콘크리트 기둥의 구조적 거동에 영향을 미친는 다양한 요소에 대하여 토론하였다. 설계 가이드라인은 고강도 콘크리트 기둥의 폭렬을 줄이고 내화성능을 향상시키기 위하여 준비하였다.

  • There are diverse barriers such as limits to space, time, economy, technology, institution, and etc. in remodeling construction compared to new construction and it needs to overcome such limits. Consequently, for effective performance of construction, planning and application fit for remodeling characteristics shall be made available in time and various studies into remodeling for each construction category are necessary to achieve this. Taking these into account this study conducted research of the followings to draw out necessary steps for planning and application of fire protection facilities in remodeling, to overcome various barriers that may arise during any project operations, and to provide useful materials for construction of reasonable and effective fire protection system.

  • In the building, the opening penetrates the wall and serves as a spreading channel for smoke and flame in case of fire. In Korea, more than 1,500 fire plume are generated annually, and the number has increased by about 30% over the past five years. Therefore, in the case of windows protecting the opening, fire protection performance is important to prevent the spread of fire. However, in Korea, the standard for window is not clear. In this study, fire tests (EN 13823) for windows were conducted in Korea, and then fire protection performance of windows was compared. As a result of the experiment, PVC windows showed a phenomenon that they could not withstand the temperature during the fire experiment, and AL windows showed a difference in the degree of cracking of the glass.

  • Much activity is occurring throughout the world with respect to the implementation of new concepts and technology for fire detection and fire suppression applications. Obvious advances include tangible detection and suppression improvements, and also new methods and approaches such as performance based codes and standards. Examples of tangible advances include addressable detection systems, wireless detection technology, halon alternatives, water mist systems, advanced sprinkler technology, and so on. Examples of new approaches and methods include a revitalized focus on disaster planning and the need for a total fire protection plan. The concept of performance based codes and standards for the design and installation fire detection and suppression systems will be explored in detail.
