Real scale fire was to perform experiments for on this qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Particularly affected by radiant heat from the flames caused and damage estimates range investigated accordingly. Flame temperature, internal temperature of tank and emitted radiation from the flames was investigated. The flame of light oil spill caused a fire at a temperature of about $300^{\circ}C$ high in comparison with the methanol by combustion of diesel and methanol, according to the difference, the flame duration changes varies depending on the Burning rate. Depending on spill rate(30, 60, 90 and $120{\ell}/min$) and the longer the duration of the flame important factors for the internal temperature of tank lorry rise was found. Road accident in a fire caused by leakage of hazardous was could the higher the damaged. Therefor, Fire suppression activities should be required in particular to be around.

  • When a fire occurs in a road tunnel, it is likely to develop into a major disaster because of its sealed structural characteristics. Because of this, a range of disaster prevention facilities should be installed, and they should show their appropriate functions in fire prevention and response. In addition, the installation of essential disaster prevention facilities is missing due to the lack of considering an extension of continuous tunnels and soundproof tunnels. For these reasons, it was judged that an amendment to the law would be necessary. Therefore, this paper reviewed the changes in domestic laws related to the disaster prevention facilities of road tunnels, and the results of the study on the parts that need to be revised in the fire-related laws through a comparative analysis between laws are as follows. First, consecutive tunnels should consider the sum of the extensions of the individual tunnels and ensure that the soundproof tunnels are included in the category of tunnels in the law. In this way, the necessary disaster prevention facilities should be installed. Second, it is necessary to secure a legal justification for installing disaster prevention facilities in tunnels. Therefore, it is essential that water mist fire extinguishing system facilities, emergency broadcasting facilities, and leading lights, which are excluded from installation in tunnels, are specified in the Fire-related laws. Third, to specify in the law that air respirators must be provided in the tunnel is necessary from the viewpoint of the field response. Accordingly, it will make a great contribution to the fire-fighting activities and the life-saving efforts by fire-fighters.

  • In case of a fire outbreak in a uni-directional road tunnel, the flow of traffic immediately behind the fire disaster will be stalled all the way back to the entrance of the tunnel. Furthermore, when the vehicle passengers try to flee away from the fire toward the entrance of the tunnel, the extremely hot fume that propagates in the same direction will be fatal to the multitudes evacuating, but may also cause damage to the ventilation equipments and the vehicles, compounding the evacuation process. This paper will present the 3-dimensional modelling analysis of the preventive measures of such a fume propagation in the same direction as the evacuating passengers. For the analysis, the fire hazard was assumed to be a perfect combustion of methane gas injected through the 1 m X 2 m nozzle in the middle of the tunnel, and the product of $CO_2$ as the indicator of the fume propagation. From the research results, when the fire hazard occurred in middle of the 400 m road tunnel, the air density decreased around the fire point, and the maximum temperatures were 996 K and 499 K at 210 m and 350 m locations, respectively, 60 seconds after fire disaster occurred, when the fumes were driven out only towards the exit-direction of the tunnel. By tracing the increase of $CO_2$ level over 1% mole fraction, the minimum longitudinal ventilation velocity was found to be 2.40 m/sec. Furthermore, through Analysis of the temperature distribution graphs, and observation of the cross-sectional distribution of $CO_2$ over 1% mole fraction, it was found that the fume did not mix with the air, but rather moved far in a laminar flow towards exit of the tunnel.

  • Numerical experiments are done by a commercial code, PHOENICS to evaluate the backlayer phenomenon of smoke in case of the road tunnel fire. The independent and dependent variables are ventilation air velocity and the length of backlayer of smoke respectively. Hybrid scheme and ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model are adopted in the simulation process and mass residual is used as a convergence criterion. The experimental results say that the length of backlayer is reduced with the increase of ventilating air velocity and that there is a critical air velocity which prevents from the onset of backlayering phenomena. One finds that there is a fresh air region near the bottom of tunnel which could make the passenger escape safely from the polluted region by smoke. These phenomena come from the vertical stratification of the smoke air mixture in the tunnel.

  • To estimate the retained strength of reinforced concrete structure after fire is very difficult because the complex behavior of structure is hard to understand during course of a fire. However, the damages which is caused by fire of the traffic facility infrastructure are enormous. Therefore the security against fire is important element that must not be overlooked. For this reason, an exact estimate method of the fire endurance is highly demanded. In this study, the validity of the nonlinear finite element method approach for the fire endurance of reinforced concrete structure is verified. The results of fire endurance estimate of underground road way by nonlinear finite element method approach are compared with those by ACI 216R-89.

  • The cattle shelters have been badly damaged by the recently large fires. so the reconstruction of the damaged shelter is very difficult. In the light of the seriousness of the fire like that, the preventive plan for the cattle shed should be thoroughly established. The preventive measure which the fire department performs presently is limited to the stopping the fire before it starts. More than anything else, The men who operate and manage the cattle shelters must know what to do. The written plan will assist them. To begin with, The fire authority should clearly specify how cattle should be protected from any outbreak of fire. Clear access to each fire shed is very important to protect the cattle safely. The manager of the cattle shelter should get ready for the fire defense equipment. Most fires of the cattle shelters are due to electricity faults. These renovations should be performed and checked immediately. Therefore, The manager should be ready assist fire chief or the professional organization to prevent the electricity fire. Fire Safety education should be planned for the owner and staff so all should know what is expected in case of a fire. The Fire Department will check the access road, the equipment available and an announced fire drills should take place every year in the cattle shelter. The Fire Department should check the access road, equipment for preventing fires and staff training each year.

  • The objective of this study was to create intelligent rail robots that are optimized for facility management and implement digital twin systems for smart road tunnel management. An autonomous surveillance system is formed by combining the sensing platform consisting of railing robots, fixed cameras and environmental detection sensors with the digital twin data platform technology for tunnel monitoring and early fire suppression. In order to develop mobile rail robots for fire extinguishing, we also designed and manufactured robots for extinguishing & monitoring and fire extinguishing devices, and then we examined the optimization of all parts. Our next step was to build a digital twin for road tunnel management by developing continuous image display system and implementing 3D modeling. After constructing prototypes, we attempted simulations by configuring abnormal symptom scenarios, such as vehicles fires. This study's proposal proposes high-accuracy risk prediction services that will enable intelligent management of risks in the tunnel with early response at each stage, using the data collected from the intelligent rail robots and digital twin systems.

  • In this study, reduced scale experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of external wind in a road tunnel fire. Experiments were conducted in a $1.1m{\times}0.5m{\times}50.4m$ tunnel. 4.5 litter gasoline was used as a fuel. Temperature, oxygen and carbon monoxide concentration were measured. Smoke reaching time to the tunnel exit was affected by the external wind. When a fire was fully developed, wind effect is reduced compared with the early stage of a fire. CO concentration was reached at more than 1,500 ppm.
