A case study of fire risk analysis for train coach without gangway doors (철도차량 화재위험도 평가 사례 분석)

  • A case study of fire risk analysis was conducted for train coach which has no gangway doors between coaches. The analysis boundary was limited to the time of outgoing from the coaches for it was train fire risk analysis. ASET(available safe egress time) and RSET(required safe egress time) methodology was used for calculating the dead. 4 liters of gasoline and cable fire at the electric cabinet and the standard fire of EN 45545 were selected for the fire sources. The fire were considered to be occurred at 3 different locations in the car. The train had 3 cases of driving scenarios. The result of all event was summarized for remained tunnel and station egress step.

  • The Urban-type building is an building that it relaxed the construction standard and subsidiary facility standard. The most of the urban-type buildings are pilotis, the main case of representing these building's fire risk is the Uijeongbu fire this study investigated to piloti urban type housing risk on the basis of Uijeongbu fire, and we checked structural problem that unable to escape from the rooftop inside the piloti. also, there was confirmed limit to the evacuation of the occupants because the smoke was rapidly transferred to the top layer through inside the electric duct. and when we analyzed smoke flow use of Fire simulation, it was confirmed Available Safety Egress Time that is four minutes of CO.

  • Unlike a general building high-rise buildings itself has a kind of risk. In this study, the risk of a number of high-rise buildings have fire safety management of the particular risks associated with looking for ways to minimize focused. Theoretical Study of the United States since the collapse of the WTC buildings, and be the center of the authentic country was. outside of the high-rise building fire safety and related issues, and measures were based on the theory of reference. Issues include voluntary arson. disaster management, building codes and fire regulations of the discrepancies, such as fire safety aspects are explained in terms of three kinds, and for it to take steps in the direction suggested an alternative for high-rise buildings. Although differences of opinion between departments will not be easy to fire and building regulations regarding conflicts of laws among other things, require immediate resolution, and high-rise buildings to create a standard for effective crisis management manual countermeasures will also be ensured.

  • A Fire Safety Evaluation Module(FSEM), which quantitatively evaluates the risk of evacuees when fire occurs in buildings or ships, is presented in this paper. The developed FSEM can be applied to multi-room structure. Basic input data for the FSEM are prepared by fire model and evacuation model. CFAST which is one of the existing fire models is used as fire model and MonteDEM evacuation model was developed for evacuation model, respectively. MonteDEM evacuation model makes use of distinct element method and Monte-Carlo simulation, and it can also take into consideration ground inclination by ship motions in order to simulate the real situation of evacuation. Some typical situations are modelled for illustrative examples and quantitative assessment of evacuee's risk under fire accident is carried out.

  • This study attempted to establish fire risk factors and preventive measures for each of five major types of construction, focusing on construction sites. For this purpose, disaster cases were analyzed and countermeasures were prepared. In addition, fire risk factors and flammable and combustible materials by construction type according to construction process were identified and preventive measures thereof were suggested. The results of this study can be used to establish policy improvement directions that meet various educational needs and expectations by identifying the use status of flammable and combustible materials and figuring out the fire risk factors according to the process by work type in construction sites.

Therefore, the purpose of this study is to research status and related regulations of Life Safety Codes for High Fire Risk Building Applications In the future, using this as basic data, it is considered that additional research is need to development Human Safety Standards in Korea.

  • A university needs to analyze and improve its curricula with the perspective of the consumer to develop a syllabus for the training of industry-demand customized human resources. Accordingly, this paper surveyed the demand of fire-related industry workers to evaluate the major fitness of the curriculum of fire risk prediction and assessment and carried out descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, and one-way ANOVA based on the results. According to the analysis, fire-related industry workers reported that the curriculum of fire risk prediction and assessment is suitable for majors. In addition, they were greatly aware of the necessity of basic major and common major subjects among subjects of fire risk prediction and assessment. The results of this analysis will provide the basic data to improve the curriculum continuously in the future.

  • On the construction site, there exists frequently a high likelihood that a fire accident can lead to a large-scale disaster. In the previous studies, the diverse outcomes have been focused on the improvement of relative statutes and tried to realize the suppression and confrontation of the fire accidents. In this study, the limitations on the site were identified through prior research reviews, and the fire risk assessment checklist was proposed through the analysis of the massive accident cases. The checklist was divided into the prevention and minimization steps and developed into 16 categories of total risk factors. According to the results from the cases applied in this study, if the installation status is checked, such as removing combustibles, and broadcasting facilities for evacuation are installed, it is expected that the casualties will be minimized or zeroed. By developing a fire risk assessment checklist, this study provides the implications of the theoretical and realistic fire accident prevention, and supports the ways to minimize the damage resulted from the fire accidents on construction sites. In the further, deriving universe and common items about repeated occurrences of a work type will be needed as a subsequent research.

  • As we learned in Daegu subway fire accident, fire in the railway tunnel is prone to develop to large disaster due to the limitation of smoke control and smoke exhaust. In railway tunnel, in order to ensure fire safety, fire prevention and fighting systems are installed by quantitative risk assessment results. Therefore, in this research, developed the program to establish quantitative risk assessment and suggested quantitative safety assessment method including fire scenarios in railway tunnel, fire and evacuation analysis model, fatality estimate model and societal risk criteria. Moreover, this method applys to plan preventing disaster for Honam high speed railway tunnel. As results, we presented the proper distance of escape route and societal risk criteria.
