Subspace Method Based Preceding for Spatial Multiplexing with Limited Feedback (제한된 피드백 정보를 사용하는 공간 다중화를 위한 부 공간 방식 기반 Precoding 기법)

  • In this paper, for spatial multiplexing with limited feedback, we propose subspace method based preceding in which the active bases are selected at the receiver from a finite number of basis sets Down at both receiving and transmitting ends, conveyed to the transmitter using limited feedback, and assembled into a preceding matrix at the transmitter. The selected bases are conveyed to the transmitter using feedback information on both the index of the selected basis set, which defines the most appropriate set of coordinates for describing a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel, and the principal bases maximizing the capacity in the selected basis set. We show that the proposed subspace method based preceding provides a capacity similar to that of the closed-loop MIMO even with limited feedback.

  • This paper deals with a linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach to the design of a static output feedback controller that simultaneously stabilizes a finite collection of linear time-invariant plants. Simultaneous stabilization by static ouput feedback is represented in terms of LMIs with a rank condition. An iterative penalty method is proposed to solve the rank-constrained LMI problem. Numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • The nonlinear mechanics of cable vibration is caught either by analytical or numerical models. Nevertheless, the choice of the most appropriate method, in consideration of the problem under study, is not straightforward. A feedback control policy might even enhance the complexity of the system. Thus, in order to design a suitable controller, different approaches are here adopted. Devices mounted transversely to the cable in the two directions, close to one of its ends, supply the feedback control action based on the observation of the response in a few points. The low order terms of the control law are, at first, analyzed in the framework of linear models. Explicit analytic solutions are derived for this purpose. The effectiveness of high order terms in the control law is then explored by means of a finite element model(FEM), which accounts for high order harmonics. A suitably dimensional analytical Galerkin model is finally derived, to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, when applied to a physical model.

  • In this paper, we present a dynamic output-feedback receding horizon $H_{\infty}$controller for linear discrete-time systems with disturbance. The controller is obtained numerically from the finite horizon output-feedback $H_{\infty}$optimization problem, which is, in fact, hardly solved analytically. Under a matrix inequality condition on the terminal weighting matrix, the monotonic decreasing property of the cost is shown. This property guarantees both the closed-loop stability and the $H_{\infty}$norm bound. Then, we extend the proposed design method to a reference tracking problem and a problem for time-varying systems. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the performance of the proposed controller.

Vibration control of laminated composite plates using embedded smart layers

  • Analytical solutions and finite element results of laminated composite plates with smart material layers embedded in them are presented in this study. The third-order plate theory of Reddy is used to study vibration suppression characteristics. The analytical solution for simply supported boundary conditions is based on the Navier solution procedure. The velocity feedback control is used. Parametric effects of the position of the smart material layers, material properties, and control parameters on the suppression time are investigated. It has been found that (a) the minimum vibration suppression time is achieved by placing the smart material layers farthest from the neutral axis, (b) using thinner smart material layers have better vibration attenuation characteristics, and, (c) the vibration suppression time is larger for a lower value of the feedback control coefficient.

  • This study is an investigation for the ADS optimum design by using FEA. We write out program which express ADS perfectly and reduce the required time for correcting of model to the minimum in solution and manufacture result. We complete algorithm which can plan optimum forming of model by feedback error information in CAE. Then we correct model by feedback date obtaining in solution process, repeat course following stress solution again and do modeling rachet wheel for optimum forming. That is our aim. In rachet wheel, greatest equivalence stress originates in key groove corner and KS standard is proved the design for security.

Feasible and Invariant Sets For Input Constrained Linear Parameter Varying Systems

  • Parameter set of an LPV system is divided into a number of subsets so that robust feedback gains may be designed for each subset of parameters. A concept of quasi-invariant set is introduced, which allows finite steps of delay in reentrance to the set. A feasible and positively invariant set with respect to a gain-scheduled state feedback control can be easily obtained from the quasi-invariant set. A receding horizon control strategy can be derived based on this feasible and invariant set.

  • We present analysis and some computational methods for boundary optimal and feedback control problems for Navier-Stokes equations. We use one example to illustrate our methodology and ideas which are applicable to general control problems for Navier-Stokes equations. First, we discuss the existence of optimal solutions and derive an optimality system of equations from which an optimal solution may be computed. Then we present a gradient type iterative method. Finally, we present some numerical results.

  • This paper presents a two-dimensional edge tone to predict the frequency characteristics of the discrete oscillations of a jet-edge feedback cycle by the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method (FDLBM). We use a new lattice BGK compressible fluid model that has an additional term and allow larger time increment comparing the conventional FDLBM, and also use a boundary fitted coordinates. The jet is chosen long enough in order to guarantee the parabolic velocity profile of the jet at the outlet, and the edge consists of a wedge with an angle of $\alpha=23^0$. At a stand-off distance $\omega$, the edge is inserted along the centreline of the jet, and a sinuous instability wave with real frequency f is assumed to be created in the vicinity of the nozzle and th propagate towards the downstream. We have succeeded in capturing very small pressure fluctuations result from periodically oscillation of jet around the edge. That pressure fluctuations propagate with the sound speed. Its interaction with the wedge produces an irrotational feedback field which, near the nozzle exit, is a periodic transverse flow producing the singularities at the nozzle lips. The lattice BGK model for compressible fluids is shown to be one of powerful tool for computing sound generation and propagation for a wide range of flows.
