  • In this paper, an electronic ID system satisfying security requirements of authentication certificate was designed using fingerprint recognition. The proposed electronic ID system generates a digital signature with forgery prevention, confidentiality, content integrity, and personal identification (=non-repudiation) using fingerprint information, and also encrypts, sends, and verify it. The proposed electronic ID system exploits fingerprint instead of user password, so it avoids leakage and hijacking. And it provides same legal force as conventional authentication certificate. The proposed electronic ID consists of 4 modules, i.e. HSM device, verification server, CA server, and RA client. Prototypes of all modules are designed and verified to have correct operation.

  • The registration cards that are currently used to identify the people of Korea may cause secondary damage once stolen because they contain very specifically expressed fingerprint information. In order to solve this problem, in ID is required that can utilize the state-owned fingerprint DB, while while maintaining confidentiality of the identification information and satisfying the cost as well. At this point accordingly, a secure form of ID, which uses the encrypted QR code and fingerprint information, is proposed.

  • In this paper, a USB module with fingerprint recognition was designed as a distributed node of blockchain on distributed ID (DID, distributed ID) for user identification. This biometric-linked fingerprint recognition device was verified for the real-time authentication process of authentication transaction with FIDO(Fast IDentity Online) server. Blockchain DID-based services were proposed like as a method of individual TV rating survey, and recommending service for customized shopping channels, and crypto-currency, too. This DID based remote service can be improved by recognizing of channel-changing information through personal identification. The proposed information of production purchase can be shared by blockchain. And customized service can be provided for the utilization of purchase history in shoppingmall using distributed ID. As a result, this blockchain node-device and Samsung S10 Key-srore with FIDO service can be certified for additional transactions through various biometric authentication like fingerprint, and face recognition.

  • Compression techniques can be applied to large-scale fingerprint systems to store or transmit fingerprint data efficiently. In this paper, we investigate the effects of FBI WSQ fingerprint image compression on the performance of a fingerprint verification system using multiple linear regressions. We propose a maximum compression using fingerprint image quality score. Based on the experiments, we can confirm that the proposed approach can compress the fingerprint images up to 3 times more than the fixed compression ratio without significant degradation of the verification accuracy.

  • Fingerprint authentication is the most popular biometric in smart devices. However it has vulnerability to fake fingerprints. This paper shows that it is possible to pass fingerprint authentication of smartphone by creating counterfeit fingerprint without approval of legitimate users. As a technical countermeasure to prevent such a smudge-based attack, there has been proposed an under-screen Touch ID with a slide bar, which is a method of removing the fingerprint trail by dragging the UI to the side after fingerprint authentication on the touch screen. In this paper, we analyze how the proposed attack method and mitigation are perceived by actual user through 61 user survey.

  • The present of state is situation that is realized by necessity of maintenance of public security about great many information is real condition been increasing continually in knowledge info-age been situating in wide field of national defense, public peace, banking, politics, education etc. Also, loss or forgetfulness, and peculation by ID for individual information and number increase of password in Internet called that is sea of information is resulting various social problem. By alternative about these problem, including Biometrics, several authentication systems through sign(Signature), Smart Card, Watermarking technology are developed. Therefore, This paper shows that extract factor that efficiency can get into peculiar feature in physical features for good fingerprint recognition algorithm implementation with old study finding that take advantage of special quality of these fingerprint.

  • As for the application system or the user authentication scheme that is used in the system, various technologies including simple ID/PW, certificate, fingerprint/iris, phone, security card, and OTP are being used. But simple ID/PW and phone certification lack security features. As for the certificate, fingerprint/iris, and security card/OTP, the weakness in security has been quite strengthened, but there are costs and complexity involved to use these. This paper proposes a new measure of much safer and low-cost user authentication that improves the security level and uses mobile external storage media such as USB that people commonly have.

  • Recently, Kim et al. proposed ID-based authentication schemes using smartcards and fingerprints. However, Scott showed that they were vulnerable to the passive eavesdropping attack. Thereby, this paper proposes an enhanced ID-based authentication scheme to solve the problems in Kin et al. scheme. Especially, the proposed scheme solves the ID repairability problem commonly shared in the previous ID based Cryptosystems. The proposed ID-based authentication scheme supports the advantages in the previous ID-based authentication scheme and solves the problems in them effectively.

  • To offer indoor location-aware services, the needs for efficient and accurate indoor localization system has been increased. In order to meet these requirement, we presented the BLIDx(Bidirectional Location ID exchange) protocol that is efficient localization system based on sensor network. The BLIDx protocol can cope with numerous mobile nodes simultaneously but the precision of the localization is too coarse because that uses cell based localization method. In this paper, in order to compensate for these disadvantage, we propose the fingerprint overlapping method by modifying a fingerprinting methods in WLAN, and localization system using proposed method was designed and implemented. Our experiments show that the proposed method is more accurate and robust to noise than fingerprinting method in WLAN. In this way, it was improved that low location precision of BLIDx protocol.
