A procedure for figuring out proper amount of additional viscous damping required to keep the inelastic deformation of a plan-wise asymmetric structure within a given target performance point was developed. To this end the behavior of an asymmetric nonlinear structure after yielding is investigated. Then a formula for the required amount of equivalent damping was derived based on the ductility demand of the structure. The procedure was applied to a five-story asymmetric structure subjected to an earthquake load. According to the comparison with the results from the dynamic time-history analysis, the structure with viscous dampers installed in accordance with the proposed procedure showed satisfactory seismic performance in both the stiff and the flexible edges.

Objectives : This study was carried out to analyze the trends of clinical studies of allergic contact dermatitis published in the Journal of Korean Medical Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology. Methods : We studied 10 research papers on allergic contact dermatitis published in JKOOD. We analyzed about experiment methods, pharmacodynamic effects, therapeutic effects in published papers. Results : 1. The number of searched journal is 10 papers. 2. All experiments was performed using DNCB primed mouse. To demonstrate therapeutic effect of drugs, previous researches observed dermatological and histopathogical conditions, erythema, melasma, white blood cell count, Lymphocyte ratio to white blood cell. 3. Most of drugs have heat-clearing and detoxifying effects. 4. Every drugs have positive effect in treating allergic contact dermatitis. Conclusions : Figuring out how experiment proceeded and tendency of drugs in researching allergic contact dermatitis is significance of this paper. Further research about drugs and their treating methods should be carried out to improve curative effectiveness for allergic contact dermatitis.

At the time that the Keck-I 10m telescope was constructed in 1993, the era of Very Large Telescopes (VLTs) was opened. Now thirteen VLTs are in operation, and the largest of the monolithic mirrors is 8.4 m in diameter. Such monolithic mirrors are mostly aspheric and require high accuracies on the surface figures, reaching up to the diffraction limit. At present, next generation telescopes, Giant telescopes, are being developed. One is the GMT (Giant Magellan Telescope) whose size is 25.4 m in diameter. The primary mirror consists of seven segments figuring elliptical shapes on the surface. The surrounding six segments are off-axis and the edges are steep, as the fast focal ratio is adopted. It means that testing of the mirrors is a challenging task. In this paper, testing methods for the GMT primary mirror are reviewed, and accuracy of measuring devices is assessed. Results and discussions follow.

It is already known that the color of wool fabric dyed with disazo acid dyes could be changed in dyeing process and this is accelerated under alkaline condition. Focus was given to figuring out the mechanism of this color change, through the LC-MS analysis. In this study, no color change was seen in wool fabrics dyed with C. I. Acid Blue 113 under weak acidic, neutral and weak alkaline conditions for 1hour. However, the wool fabrics dyed under weak alkaline condition for a long time over 3 hours fumed reddish orange. When the wool fabrics dyed under weak acidic, neutral and weak alkaline conditions were treated with $0.5g/L\;Na_2C0_3$ solution, all of them turned reddish orange. On the other hand, the color of silk fabrics dyed with C. I. Acid Blue 113 were not changed after the same alkaline treatment. Wool contains cystine and cysteine, whereas silk does not. Due to the reversible reduction/oxidation process of cystine and cysteine in wool dyeing, the C. I. Acid Blue 113 of the dis-azo type is decomposed by reduction and consequently turned them into the reddish orange mono-azo types dye.

The purpose of this study is that analyzing the causal relationship between Infra, Process and Performance of companies which are executing the Supply Chain Quality Management(SCQM) with their subcontractors and partners. Korean Standards Association(KSA) provides the Supply Chain Quality Management Model and Quality Collaboration Index for 4 years, but a few study has investigated the critical variables and their causal relationship to organizational performance. Therefore we examine the SCQM model and related index and choose the quality, human resource and risk management processes for identifying the path to organizational performance. In addition, exploratory factor analysis is conducted for figuring out the major factors among the 3 processes. Structural Equation Model are successively used for determining which characteristics of the infra and processes are the most critical variables to performance. The data was collected from KSA and composed of 52 companies and 346 their partners. The result shows that risk management process has no significant effect on the organizational performance and pre-production process collaboration.

In this study, a survey was carried out on 208 students at middle schools in Gyeonggi-do through May 1 to July 20, 2011, with the purpose of figuring out how eating attitudes of middle school students affect their psychological achievement and self control. The results were as follows. First, the effect of eating attitudes on the psychological achievement of middle school students demonstrated that regular dietary life, dietary life and health had a statistically significant positive effect on psychological achievement. Second, the effect of eating attitudes on self control in middle school students showed that balanced dietary life, dietary life and health had a statistically significant positive effect on self control. The above findings confirmed that regular and healthy dietary life connected directly with health, which was a factor that makes them think positively about psychological achievement. Besides, for eating self control, as balanced dietary life in eating attitudes was important. And as this had a positive effect on their self control, could improve their eating attitudes. Consequently, the regular eating attitudes and balanced dietary life in eating attitudes of middle school students can make their psychological achievement and eating self control for the nutrition and health care.

This study aimed to develop and propose a Korean character group with the story of Shim Cheong applied as a motif. By borrowing the four stories (a dream of the birth of a child, filial behavior, regeneration and eyesight-gaining) presented in the story of Shim Cheong which has been passed on orally, the study designed the Korean character group and set up types of characters' roles to visualize these other characters seen in the content such as Shim Cheong the heroine, goblins, a baby dragon, Mr. Shim the blind and others. As a next step, the study applied the types to the seven essential types of Vogler's original characters. A process of how to visualize the group of those characters appearing in the story including Shim Cheong the heroine was offered. In particular, the study concentrates on figuring out how to expand and develop the Shim Cheong character to be this image of one of the most popular Korean princess characters. What this study had discussed will contribute to the field of character production when they try to commercialize characters and develop Korean characters with unique Korean features included.

The advantages of implementing a virtual channel can be derived from the notion of the 'death of distance' that would result from electronic commerce. According to this view, the internet was going to make distance irrelevant, in that firms would no longer need to establish a physical presence in a geographical location in order to do business there. However, on-line firms selling physical products could take advantages of presence in the related off-line(brick and mortar) industrial area. This paper developed a conceptual framework that highlights the various types of synergies by location on-line businesses in the related off-line industrial area. Using data from 96 on-line ventures selling physical products, factor analysis was used to figuring out six synergies including improved customer trust, value-added service, cost savings, personnel and organizational efficiency, sharing products and customer information, relationship with suppliers, and relationship with local government. The six empirically derived critical synergy factors were then used to examine how they improve performance of the on-line ventures measured by Balanced Scorecard(BSC). According to lthe results, we concluded that the on-line firms selling physical products can take advantages of presence in the related off-line industrial area.

The purpose of this study is to examine the aesthetic view towards exposure in the Korean society through the means of analyzing the characteristics of exposure and figuring out the implications expressed in the red carpet fashion of Korean female movie stars. The concept of exposure in fashion was reviewed through previous studies and related publications. The pictures of actresses wearing red carpet evening gowns in Korea's major film festival were collected and analyzed. The results indicated that the meaning of exposure expressed in the red carpet fashion of Korean female movie stars are as follows: First, this leads the trend reflecting the contemporary aesthetic view of exposure as an effective way to show the beauty of the female body. Second, this emphasizes the femininity and expresses eroticism by exposing certain body parts which symbolize the female gender. Third, this shows the narcissistic self conspicuousness as well as the self confidence and self satisfaction. Forth, this displays the playfulness through exposing the body in a unique way. Lastly, the way and level of exposure can be used to maintain or change the public's view upon the celebrity.

According to the adoption of inverter circuit topology for welding machine area, the improvement of welding performance can be achieved. However conventional CO2 inverter arc welding machine uses the constant voltage characteristics. So the metal transfer is performed under unoptimum condition in the sence of spatter generation. In this paper the new control algorithm is proposed for welding machine, which is the instantaneous output current control method using single chip microprocessor. But the optimum waveform of welding current is still uncertain, as a first step for figuring out the optimized waveforms, this study was performed. And as a result of performance test of the proposed system, it was demonstrated that all of the waveform variation parameter could be set individually and the generated spatter is reduced compared to conventional inverter arc welding machine.
