  • In the case of using sensor in the industrial control systems, the location of sensor is not close to the system which utilizes the sensor data. Two main functions of intelligent sensor are data processing and communication. In this paper, we will show that the developed result of intelligent sensor, which process the sensor data inside of the sensor module, except for the communication function. For this, we refered to the Profibus and Fieldbus Foundation standard.

  • In 2000 FFIA , FIA, RDC are united into new corporation. This corporation will manage rural water with TM/TC(Tele-Monitoring/Tele-Control) system. Most systems which were adopted in TM/TC system were Closed Control System which use exclusive network and protocol . Closed Control System can not support new corporation's requirement in water management system. Therefore, new corporation should adopt Open Control System as standard rural water management system. Open Control System support Fieldbus technology, TCP/IP various protocols, programming model, OPC which is essential to the water management program, and so on.

  • 오늘날 공장 자동화에 이용되는 필드버스 네트워크는 설러 가지가 있으며 이들은 각각의 미디어 접근 방식과 프로토콜을 사용하고 있다. 서로 다른 종류의 네트워크는 완전히 분리되어 있기 때문에 네트워크 관리자는 이를 관리하는데 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 이기종의 필드버스 네트워크를 통합할 수 있는 통합 필드버스 게이트웨이를 설계하였다. 통합 필드버스 게이트웨이는 이더넷 프로토콜을 이용하여 다른 네트워크로 데이터를 전달할 수 있고 프로토콜간의 변환을 수행하여 분리된 네트워크를 통합하고 통합된 환경으로 제어 및 모니터링을 가능하게 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 필드버스 시스템을 위하여 IEEE 1451을 적용한 스마트 모듈을 개발하였다. IEEE 1451은 공장 자동화 시스템에서 스마트 트랜스듀서의 개발을 위하여 제안된 프로토콜이다. 이러한 IEEE 1451이 필드버스 시스템을 위한 스마트 모듈에 적용되면, 네트워크 프로토콜에 독립적인 스마트 모듈의 개발이 가능하다.

  • This paper presents a realization of check valve condition monitoring system based on fault diagnosis algorithm and Fieldbus communication. We first acquired AE(acoustic emission) sensor data at the check valve test loop, extract fault features through the teamed neural network, and send the processed data to a remote site. The overall system has been implemented and experimented results are given to show its effectiveness.

  • Thanks to various benefits, low-cost real-time communication networks so called fieldbus have been widely used in many industrial applications including military systems, such as aircrafts, submarines, and robots. This paper presents a reliability analysis of dual-channel CAN(Controller Area Network) fieldbus which is used for controlling various equipment of submarine combat system. A submarine combat system playing a critical role to the success of missions and survivability consists of various devices including sensors/actuators and computers. Since a communication network for submarine combat system must satisfy an extremely high level of reliability, a dual channel technique is commonly adopted. In this paper, a Petri Net based reliability model for dual-channel CAN is discussed. A reliability model called generalized stochastic Petri Nets (GSPN) is built by utilizing the information on physical faults with CAN. The effectiveness of the proposed model is analyzed in terms of unreliability with respect to failure rate and repair rate.

  • Recently, fieldbus communication technologies have been widely deployed for industrial automation because they are profitable in providing easy system integration and management for multiple devices, as well as high-speed communication. It is essential for smart encoders to support fieldbus connectivity, where the device configuration and various types of information related to position are exchanged between an external controller and multiple encoders over the communication link. In this study, we implemented the CiA 406 device profile for smart encoders from the CANopen standards by extending an open-source CANopen standard-compliant framework, called CanFestival. The CiA 406 functionalities implemented in this study were validated on a test-bed consisting of a CANopen master and virtual CANopen encoders with our CiA 406 extension module.
