Small scale magNetospheric and Ionospheric Plasma Experiments; SNIPE mission

  • Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute The observation of particles and waves using a single satellite inherently suffers from space-time ambiguity. Recently, such ambiguity has often been resolved by multi-satellite observations; however, the inter-satellite distances were generally larger than 100 km. Hence, the ambiguity could be resolved only for large-scale (> 100 km) structures while numerous microscale phenomena have been observed at low altitude satellite orbits. In order to resolve those spatial and temporal variations of the microscale plasma structures on the topside ionosphere, SNIPE mission consisted of four (TBD) nanosatellites (~10 kg) will be launched into a polar orbit at an altitude of 700 km (TBD). Two pairs of satellites will be deployed on orbit and the distances between each satellite will be from 10 to 100 km controlled by a formation flying algorithm. The SNIPE mission is equipped with scientific payloads which can measure the following geophysical parameters: density/temperature of cold ionospheric electrons, energetic (~100 keV) electron flux, and magnetic field vectors. All the payloads will have high temporal resolution (~ 16 Hz (TBD)). This mission is planned to launch in 2020. The SNIPE mission aims to elucidate microscale (100 m-10 km) structures in the topside ionosphere (below altitude of 1,000 km), especially the fine-scale morphology of high-energy electron precipitation, cold plasma density/temperature, field-aligned currents, and electromagnetic waves. Hence, the mission will observe microscale structures of the following phenomena in geospace: high-latitude irregularities, such as polar-cap patches; field-aligned currents in the auroral oval; electro-magnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves; hundreds keV electrons' precipitations, such as electron microbursts; subauroral plasma density troughs; and low-latitude plasma irregularities, such as ionospheric blobs and bubbles. We have developed a 6U nanosatellite bus system as the basic platform for the SNIPE mission. Three basic plasma instruments shall be installed on all of each spacecraft, Particle Detector (PD), Langmuir Probe (LP), and Scientific MAGnetometer (SMAG). In addition we now discuss with NASA and JAXA to collaborate with the other payload opportunities into SNIPE mission.

개인화된 건강 자원 조회를 위한 TOS 와 HL7 FHIR 서비스간의 데이터그리드 모델 설계 (Design of a Data Grid Model between TOS and HL7 FHIR Service for the Retrieval of Personalized Health Resources)

  • 질환 조기경보를 목표로 하는 ICT 힐링플랫폼에서 TOS는 개인 건강관련 데이터 공급자(provider)와 서비스 공급자 사이를 연결하여 개인화된 건강데이터를 중계한다. 이전 연구인 TOS에서는 모바일 기기를 고려하여 문서/측정 값 등의 자원에 대한 조회(retrieval) 및 관제 모니터링 방법이 제안되었다. 그러나 최근 헬스케어 분야에서, 모바일 기기를 이용한 통신 및 데이터 교환에 필요한 표준 항목들이 HL7 FHIR을 통해 정의되었다. 본 논문에서는 TOS를 통해 중계된 개인건강 자원을 FHIR bundle searchset으로 제공하기 위해서, TOS와 FHIR간의 데이터 그리드 모델을 설계하도록 한다. 제안 설계의 구성은 다음과 같다. 우선 TOS 자원 요청 방법과 FHIR observation 요청간의 유사점을 기술한다. 다음으로, IMDG 및 클러스터 기술을 기반으로 FHIR 서비스의 조회 요청을 처리하는 event-bus 모듈을 설계한다. 제안된 설계는 기존의 ICT 힐링플랫폼의 서비스 단말을 FHIR 리소스 활용이 가능한 모바일 헬스 기기로 확장하는데 활용할 수 있다.

  • MIRIS is the main payload of the Science and Technology Satellite-3 (STSAT-3). which is being developed by KASI for infrared survey observation of the Galactic plane at Paschen alpha wavelength. Wideband filters in I and H band will also be used to observe cosmic infrared background. The MIRIS will perform astronomical observations in the near-infrared wavelengths of 0.9~2 ${\mu}m$ using a 256 ${\times}$ 256 Teledyne PICNIC FPA sensor providing a 3.67 ${\times}$ 3.67 degree field of view with a pixel scale of 51.6 arcsec. The flight model of the MIRIS has been recently developed, The system performance tests have been made in the laboratory, including opto-mechanics test, vibration test, thermal vacuum test and passive cooling test down to 200K, using a thermally controlled vacuum chamber. Several focus tests showed good agreements compared to initial design parameters. Recent efforts are being concentrated to improve the system performances, particularly to reduce readout noise level in electronics. After assembly and integration into the satellite bus, the MIRIS will be launched in 2012.

Design of Fault Diagnostic and Fault Tolerant System for Induction Motors with Redundant Controller Area Network

  • Induction motors are a critical component of many industrial processes and are frequently integrated in commercially available equipment. Safety, reliability, efficiency, and performance are some of the major concerns of induction motor applications. Preventive maintenance of induction motors has been a topic great interest to industry because of their wide range application of industry. Since the use of mechanical sensors, such as vibration probes, strain gauges, and accelerometers is often impractical, the motor current signature analysis (MACA) techniques have gained murk popularity as diagnostic tool. Fault tolerant control (FTC) strives to make the system stable and retain acceptable performance under the system faults. All present FTC method can be classified into two groups. The first group is based on fault detection and diagnostics (FDD). The second group is independent of FDD and includes methods such as integrity control, reliable stabilization and simultaneous stabilization. This paper presents the fundamental FDD-based FTC methods, which are capable of on-line detection and diagnose of the induction motors. Therefore, our group has developed the embedded distributed fault tolerant and fault diagnosis system for industrial motor. This paper presents its architecture. These mechanisms are based on two 32-bit DSPs and each TMS320F2407 DSP module is checking stator current, voltage, temperatures, vibration and speed of the motor. The DSPs share information from each sensor or DSP through DPRAM with hardware implemented semaphore. And it communicates the motor status through field bus (CAN, RS485). From the designed system, we get primitive sensors data for the case of normal condition and two abnormal conditions of 3 phase induction motor control system is implemented. This paper is the first step to drive multi-motors with serial communication which can satisfy the real time operation using CAN protocol.

Development of a CAN-based Real-time Simulator for Car Body Control

  • This paper presents a developing procedure of the CAN-based real-time simulator for car body control, aiming at replacing the actual W/H (Wiring Harness) and J/B(Junction Box) couple eventually. The CAN protocol, as one kind of field-bus communication, defines the lowest 2 layers of the ISO/OSI standard, namely, the physical layer(PL) and the data link layer(DLL), for which the CSMA/NBA protocol is generally adopted. For CPU, two PIC18Fxx8x's are used because of their built-in integration of CAN controller, large internal FLASH memory (48K or 64K), and their costs. To control J/B's and actuators, 2 controller boards are separately implemented, between which CAN lines communicate through CAN transceivers MCP255. A power motor for washing windshield, 1 door lock motor, and 6 blink lamps are chosen for actuators of the simulator for the first stage. For the software architecture, a polling method is used for the fast global response time despite its slow individual response time. To improve the individual response time and to escape from some eventual trapped-function loops, High/Low ports of the CPU are simply used, which increases the stability of the actuator modules. The experimental test shows generally satisfactory results in normal transmitting / receiving function and message trace function. This simulator based on CAN shows a promising usefulness of lighter, more reliable and intelligent distributed body control approach than the conventional W/H and J/B couple. Another advantage of this approach lies in the distributed control itself, which gives better performance in hard real-time computing than centralized one, and in the ability of integrating different modules through CAN.

근대(近代) 도시화(都市化)에 따른 전라도(全羅道) 전통(傳統) 소도읍(小都邑)의 공간구조변화과정(空間構造變化過程) 연구(硏究) (A study on the Transformation Process of Traditional Small City Structure in Jeollabuk-Do)

  • This study is to analyse the transformation process of spatial structure of traditional small city structure in Jeollabuk-Do in the process of modern urbanization between 19th century and the year 2000. The small cities, IM-PI, YONG-AN, YEO-SAN, OK-GOO, GO-SAN, MU-JANG, GUM-MA, GO-BU, which have been local administrative center in CHO-SUN dynasty, have role of local administrative center of subdivision of country-myon, except OK-GOO. The method of this study is to investigate the transformation process of spatial structural elements of with the actual field surveys, the analysis of Gunhyun map made in 1872, land registration maps in 1910s and 2000, and various topological maps. The elements of analysis are the topological site and geographical situation conditions, the urbanized areas, the street systems, the function of streets, the focal points of urban land use, the land use systems, and the location of major facilities such as administration facilities, markets, bus terminals. The analytical point of view and the results are as follows. There is strong relationship between the transformation of internal matrix route system and the growth pattern of urbanized areas, Especially on the contrary to the matrix route with East-West direction which has the role of checking the growth of urbanized area, the South-North direction route acts as the leading line of the growth. The focal points structure of urban land use shows transformation process from the point of central space of administrative district in front of Nae-A, to the access point to administrative district or to the access point to housing and neighborhood commercial area. From the point of functional area structure and major facilities location, line-type commercial area is developed along the line of central axis route and access route to administrative district. Especially direction of the growth of commercial area is strongly connected with the interrelationship between the study area and its neighboring cities. Pattern of commercial district development is varied with the direction of matrix route. That is, commercial district, which shows one side development pattern along the East-West direction route, is developed on both sides of street along the South-North direction route.

재가노인의 가정간호요구도 및 일상생활능력에 관한 연구 (A Study on Home Nursing Care Requirement and Activities of Daily Life Among the Elderly at Home)

  • The objectives of this study were to characterize the health status, the requirement of home nursing care, and dependency of daily life of the elderly so that the result could be used to provide basic data necessary for establishing home nursing care practices. The study subjects were 249 elders over 65 years old who resided at home in low income areas of three districts in Pusan. The field survey was conducted from December 27, 1993 through January 27, 1994, with a structured questionnaire. Statistical analysis was done by X²-test and Student's T-test using SPSS/PC/sup +/ program. The result were as follows; 1. Alcohol drinking rate was 50.0% for men and 27.7% for women, and cigarette smoking rate was 77.8% for men and 27.1% for women. 92.9% of elders aged 65-75 exercised regularly as compared to 81.9% of elders aged 75 and over(p<0.05). 2. 63.9% of male and 85.9% of female elders had chronic diseases showing singnificant differences(p<0.01), and both sexes had 1.7 kinds of chronic diseases in average; musculoskeletal diseases were the most common in 25.7%, while 6.8% of the elderly had cardiovascular diseases. 3. Partially movable elderly was 6.9% for men and 6.8% for woman, showing 47.1% of causes being cerebrovascular accidents. 4. The home nursing requirement was the highest for medication(66.3%), intramuscular injection(53.8%), and measurement of blood pressure·body·temperature·pulse rate(47.0%). 5. Among Physical Activities of Daily Life, bathing(10.4%) and movement(4.0%) showed high dependency rates, and among Instrumental Activities of Daily Life, phone calling(25.3%), shopping(24.5%), going out by bus(22.5%) showed high dependency rates. 6. For five categories of home nursing showing high requirements such as physical health examination, blood pressure·temperature·pulas rate measurements, medication, and intravascular injection, the requirements were different by age groups, education, and marital status(p<0.05).

재구성 가능한 타원 곡선 암호화 프로세서 설계 (Design of Programmable and Configurable Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem Coprocessor)

  • 암호화 시스템은 다양한 표준으로 인해 하드웨어 구성에 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 암호화 규격을 수용할 수 있는 재구성 가능한 타원 곡선 암호화 프로세서 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 프로세서 구조는 32bit 크기의 입출력 포트와 내부 버스를 가지며 유한체 연산 장치(AU), 입력/출력 장치(IOU), 레지스터 파일 그리고 프로그램이 가능한 제어 장치(CU)로 이루어져 있다. 제어 장치의 ROM에 저장되어 있는 마이크로 코드에 의하여 프로세서에서 사용할 키의 길이와 원시 다항식이 결정된다 마이크로 코드는 사용자가 프로세서 내부 ROM에 프로그래밍을 통해 저장할 수 있다. 프로세서 내부의 각 장치는 32 bit 크기의 버스로 연결되어 있어 타원 곡선 암호 규격에 무관하게 동작이 가능하므로 32bit 규격의 입출력 포트만 가지고 있으면 새로운 장치로 교체가 가능한 모듈 구조를 갖고 있다. 따라서 소프트웨어적으로 새로운 마이크로 코드를 프로그래밍하고 하드웨어적으로는 필요한 연산 장치의 교체를 통하여 다양한 타원 곡선 암호 체계에 응용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 프로세서 구조를 이용하여 타원곡선 암호화 프로세서를 구현하였으며 그 결과를 기존의 암호화 프로세서와 비교하였다.

도시부 교차로에서의 자전거 사고유형 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Bicycle Accident Patterns at Urban Intersections)

  • 최근 녹색교통수단으로서 자전거의 이용자수는 급격하게 증가하고 있으나 차대 자전거사고 감소와 자전거 이용자의 안전성 향상에 대한 노력은 미비한 설정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최적의 교차로 설계지침 제공 및 자전거 사고유형에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 면밀히 분석하여 교차로에서의 자전거사고 안전성 향상에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 2005년도 인천광역시 사지교차로에서 발생한 56건의 자전거사고 자료에 대한 분석과 사고발생 교차로에 대한 현장조사를 실시하였으며, 다항로짓모형을 이용하여 3가지 경우에 대한 자전거 사고유형 분석모형을 개발하였다. 모형분석결과, 사망사고 유무, 부도로 교통섬 유무, 도로위계, 사고당시 날씨, 주도로 버스정류장 유무, 주도로 차로폭, 인적유발요인이 자전거 사고 유형에 중요한 변수로 나타났다.

고속도로 연계성을 반영한 고속철도 수단선택모형 개발 및 적용 (Development of Mode Choice Model and Applications Considering Connectivity of Express Way)

  • 지금까지 고속철도와 고속도로의 계획 및 건설은 시설 간 연계 환승에 대한 고려 없이 개별시설 확충 위주로 진행되었으며. 이로 인해 시설의 효율적 투자 및 활용은 이루어지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 고속도로 연계성 향상으로 고속철도 수단선택행태에 미치는 영향을 다항로짓모형(Multinominal Logit Model)과 이항로짓모형(Binary Logit Model)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 모형개발을 위한 설문조사는 고속철도, 고속버스, 장거리 승용차 이용자를 대상으로 통행실태조사와 진술선호조사를 수행하였으며, 이를 통해 고속철도와 연계 환승수단에 대한 수단분담모형을 구축하였다. 수단선택모형을 통하여 고속도로와 고속철도가 연계 시 동탄역을 대상으로 사례분석을 수행한 결과 서울~부산 간 약 2시간의 통행시간이 단축되었으며, 이로 인해 약 30%의 수요증가 효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 고속철도와 고속도로의 계획 시 연계 환승을 고려하여 건설 및 운영이 이루어질 경우, 고속철도의 이동성 기능과 고속도로의 접근성 기능을 결합함으로써 수단간 효율성을 극대화할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
