  • This thesis is purposed to economical and rational accomplishment of the agricultural water resources development project as to utilize digital topographic information in basic investigation, preliminary planning and detail design process of the agricultural water resources development. In this study, the digital topographic data is acquired to stereo aerial photography of test field and the digital elevation model(DEM) is generated by interpolation of acquired data. Also, the database of basic investigation which is constituted to graphic and at-tribute data is designed. As the results of this study, the method that is determined to this study makes a contribution to effective accomplishment of the agricultural water resources development project.

  • The information & Communication industry including internet is rapidly developing and expanding, which integrates our living space and provides diversity. Internet provides users with an variety of real-time information through networking. Also the functions and services of Geographic Information Systems are on a changing trend providing services for various organizations and users dispersed in different networks. It is necessary to understand that GIS is available not only on a desktop and server, but in any place where the network is connected using the web. Recently, Internet GIS for the search and subscription of spatial informations through the internet is receiving an active research field. So. this study aims to apply the Gas Disaster Management to the internet and develop the internet GIS techniques which make an effective utilization of GIS functions using MapObjects IMS, SDE, and Oracle.

  • Non-point source pollution poses a serious threat to river. therefore non-point pollution model was developed. This non-point pollution model requires detailed spatial data for accurate predictions Geo-spatial Information System(GSIS) is well suited to those needs. The parameters for these models provided by the GSIS were slope, slope shape, field slope length and SCS run off curve number. Hence, this study presents an application of GSIS processing tools for AGNPS model developed by the ARS(Agricultural Research Service) in cooperation with the MPCA(Minnesota Pollution Control Agency) and has developed interface that construct the input data of ASCII type in the AGNPS model using GSIS.

  • This study is to measure 3d deformation of railroad-bridge of steel structure using the non-metric high-resolution digital camera. Measuring the deformation is to be utilized relative orientation using the coplanarity for reduction of the field survey and efficiency of the work. The results are compared with deformation by exterior orientation parameters, which are computed from 3d measurement of control points by the Total-station. Then accuracy of the utilized method will be verified.

  • This research attempted to find possibilities of the practical use utilizing geospatial methods for the balanced promotion of sustainable coastal development and preservation through a case study of Jekyll Island, one of Georgia's barrier islands. In response, this research provided ways for practical use in sustainable development and preservation plans. First this research thoroughly investigated the 1996 master plan of Jekyll Island and tried to recalculate developed and undeveloped areas. Second, new estimations for developed areas were investigated through field survey. Third, this research proposed the use of the satellite images with different levels of spatial resolutions and tested different classification schemes to find possibilities for practical use. For these purposes, first, we classified developed and undeveloped features by manual digitization using an aerial photo image with 0.5m spatial resolution. Second, a Landsat 7 ETM+ and a QuickBird satellite images with mid- and high-levels of spatial resolutions were applied to identify developed and undeveloped areas using both the National Land Cover Data (NLCD) and the Coastal Change Analysis Program (CCAP) classification schemes. Also, GEOBIA (Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis) was conducted to accurately identify developed and undeveloped areas.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish the optimum reference field as testing some geopotential model, gravity data and GPS data. We have to decide a best fitting geopotential model as a reference surface for establishing the optimum geoid solutions. We conduct some tests on the Korean Peninsula gravity data to establish which of the model would be prove to be the best one. Three ways were used to compare the geopotential coefficient solutions. One of the tests is to compare the residual gravity anomaly remaining after the anomaly computed from the geopotential model has been subtracted from the "observed" gravity anomaly. The second method is a comparison of several geopotential solutions in terms of differences in gravity anomalies and quasi-geoid undulations. The third method is a comparison between the undulation obtained by GPS and the corresponding undulation from each geopotential model. The result showed that OSU91A model is a best fitting model as a reference in the region of Korean Peninsula.Peninsula.

  • The use of SPOT Imagery is a growing trend in the field of small and middle scale mapping, as well as in establishing topographic database. This study is about 3-D positioning using the SPOT Imagery, where the accuracy and the gemetric characteristics of SPOT photos are analysed according to the preprocessing level (level 1AP,1B). As a result of this study the following could be determined, i. e 1) the geometric characteristics of SPOT Imagery according to the preprocessing level, 2) the optimal polynomial type for exterior orientations of each preprocessing level, and 3) the type of significant additional parameters. It was found that both the geometric precision and accuracy of level 1AP is higher than those of level 1B, which implies that level 1AP is more suitable for precise 3-D positioning and map production.

  • For the inaccessible area where the field verification is unable, it is difficult to obtain the ground control points (GCPs) or the acquired GCPs may be inaccurate. In general systematic geometric correction is achieved by utilizing orbit ephemeris and three axis attitude data of the satellite. however, this method results to poor accuracy of the imagery's absolute coordinates. To improve the absolute accuracy as well as the relative accuracy, we added the accessible region into the inaccessible area. We obtained GCPs in the accessible region by the fast static GPS survey and made geometric corrections with these biased GCPs. Because the biased GCPs show a pattern of coordinate errors, we analyzed this tendency to track the estimated errors in the inaccessible area.

  • The research on Harmful Algal Blooms is generally in progress through field work, such as the naked eye and sampling. It was difficult to forecast exactly the course, from appearance of red tide to disappearance, with the established ways of investigation and analysis. Accordingly it is need to analyze environmental factors in time and space, the appearance of red tide and the path of its migration by more objective and scientific methods. In this study the remote sensing was used to diminish damage from the occurrence of red tide. Such as a temperature change of sea water and a change of tidal currents, the major cause for red tide. The probed data were utilized. The technique for forecast of red tide phenomenon on the south coast was researched by analyzing the cause of red tide, pollutant flowed from landand the possibility of application of the technique was showed.

  • In order to improve real-time positioning accuracy, a number of methods have been tested and one of those is the inverted RTK(Real-time kinematic) that gives a precise positioning by handling carrier phase measurements. For the inverted RTK positioning, it needs the L1 phase measurement at least for 1~2 minutes and the additional reference stations/communication system and a data processing server are required. The L1 code and carrier phase measurements for real-time application are used simultaneously and then Kalman filter is applied to estimate integer ambiguities. Double differenced integer ambiguities are resolved by utilizing the FARA(Fast Ambiguity Resolution Approach). In this paper, we propose the method to improve the positioning accuracy and performed the field tests for several baselines from DAEJ reference station in KAO(Korea Astronomy Observatory).
