카메라 교정 및 측정부 회전을 이용한 가상현실 기기의 전역 왜곡 측정법 (Full-field Distortion Measurement of Virtual-reality Devices Using Camera Calibration and Probe Rotation)

  • 가상현실 기기의 렌즈는 사용자의 편의성을 위한 적은 부피와 높은 현실감을 위한 넓은 시야각을 동시에 만족시켜야 하기 때문에 왜곡 수차가 필연적으로 발생하는데, 일반적인 렌즈보다 시야각이 넓고 왜곡 수차가 크기 때문에 측정이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 가상현실 기기의 특성을 고려한 두 가지 왜곡 측정 방법을 제안하였다. 하나는 카메라 교정 방법 기반의 다중 이미지를 이용한 왜곡 측정법이며, 또 다른 하나는 카메라를 포함한 측정부를 직접 회전시켜 왜곡을 측정하는 다중 측정점을 이용한 왜곡 측정법이다. 제안된 방법들의 검증을 위해 시판된 가상현실 기기인 Google Cardboard 제품의 왜곡을 측정하고 설계 데이터를 통한 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교하였으며, 두 방법으로 측정된 왜곡 값은 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교했을 때 잘 부합하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In the past, the use of wave energy has mainly been focused on conversion of large wave energy resources in the far offshore areas. However, with the technological improvement of converting wave energy into electricity, the energy resources at much shallow waters are now considered as a site for possible installation of the devices that obtain energy from the waves. In this respect, the wave energy resources on the east coast of Korea, where the sea is milder than the open ocean, were investigated using the field measurement data obtained at three different locations along the coast. For all the locations, the wave power was greater in winter season, compared to summer season. The estimated wave power varied from 2 to 4.5 kW/m on average, depending on the measurement locations.

  • An automatic guidance system based upon two position-measurement systems was designed to record where the tractor traveled and to guide the tractor along the predetermined path. An algorithm, using the kinematic behavior of tractor movement, was developed to determine the steering angle to reduce lateral position error. The algorithm was based upon constant travel speed, constant steering rate, and zero slip angles of the tractor wheels. The algorithm was evaluated through use of computer simulation and verified in field experiments. Results showed that the distance interval between position measurements was an important factor in guidance system performance. The position-measurement error of the guidance system must be less than 5 cm to be acceptably precise for field operations. An algorithm based upon a variable steering rate might improve the stability of the guidance system. More accurate measurement of tractor position and yaw angle, and faster error processing are required to improve the field performance of the guidance system.

  • The hall probe measurement system was used to measure the critical current distribution of superconducting coated conductor. The system consists of reel to reel moving apparatus, 7 array hall probe, a rotary encoder and permanent magnet. The magnetic field profile across the width of superconducting coated conductor using Bean's critical state model was calculated. The effect of various parameters of the formulas on the magnetic field distribution and the effect of shape and size of artificial defects, which were formed on the surface of SmBa2Cu3O7-d(SmBCO) coated conductor using laser marking system, on the hall probe magnetic field signal of the hall probe measurement system was investigated.

  • This paper describes a measurement method for electromagnetic field strength of power-line communications(PLC) modem. First it outlines the technology used in PLC modems, and the technical regulation being offered to the technology, from the point of view of its effect on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The radio spectrum needs protection from other interferers, and there is a regime in place to provide this protection. Difficulties in achieving compatibility between the requirements for radio protection and the requirements for operation of the PLC modem mean that there is no consensus as yet as to how PLC modem components can be made compliant with EMC requirements globally. It is concluded that there is a measurement method according to CISPR standards which satisfy requirements in domestic regulation.

  • This paper deals with a measurement system of a distance between lightning strokes and observatory station and spectrum analysis of electric fields radiated from lightning discharges. The distance measurement system, which consists of a loop type magnetic field sensor, a microphone and one chip microprocessor, is connected to a personal computer through RS232 port to acquire and process the data. This system is to use a difference of propagation velocity between an electromagnetic wave and a sonic wave produced by lightning discharge. Also, an electric field waveform and a frequency spectrum were investigated by an electric field measurement system with a hemisphere antenna and a spectrum analyzer with a biconical antenna and a log-periodic antenna, respectively. The results would be used as a basic reference to protect the power systems and electric circuits from lightning overvoltages.

실험을 통한 환기시스템의 국소적 환기효율 분석 (Analysis of the Local Air-Change Effectiveness by Field Measurement)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the Age of Air and the Local Air-change Effectiveness of by field measurement. The indexes of Age of Air and Local Air-change Effectiveness are used to analyze the local ventilation effectiveness of multiple locations and are mainly evaluated using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. In this study, measurement of the Local Air-change Effectiveness was based on ASHRAE 129. The performance of Local Air-change Effectiveness and the dependence of the outlet location on Local Air-change Effectiveness were analyzed. The results showed that a greater air-change rate (ACH) may not guarantee better local ventilation effectiveness.

전기기구의 운전에 의하여 발생되는 자계의 측정 (Measurement of Magnetic Field Generated by the Operations of Electric Appliance)

  • The present paper deals with a new developed sensor for measuring the time-varying magnetic fields and describes the experimental results of trasient magnetic field that takes place during the operations of electric appliance. The operation principle of the self-integrating magnetic field sensor by using coaxial cable is analyzed and a calibration investigation is carried out. The frequency bandwidth of the magnetic field measurement system is from 40 Hz to about 300 kHz. The magnetic field induced by the starting and/or operation of electric appliance mainly includes the odd harmonics such as the third, the fifth and the seventh harmonics. The magnetic field intensity caused during the operation of ultrasonic washer is inversely proportional to distance, this correspodns to induction component. As a result, it was known that the odd harmonics of magnetic field in the desing of electromagnetic shield employed for protecting electronic circuit and control devices have to be considered.

  • This paper deals with a methodology that applies the time-varying magnetic fields produced by the cloud discharges to find the direction of thunderstorm movement. We investigated the basic performance of the magnetic field measurement system composed of multi-turn loop-type sensors, the differential amplifier and active integrator. As a result, the response characteristics of the magnetic field sensor system to sinusoidal signals was excellent. The frequency bandwidth ranges from about 1 kHz to 500 kHz, the response sensitivity was 0.16mV/nT. In addition, we proposed the algorithm that determines the direction of lightning discharges using the comparison of the output signals of right-angled loop-type magnetic field sensors. The accuracy of the direction finding of lightning discharges is fairly well within the measurement error of less than $5^{\circ}$. The magnetic field measurement system proposed in this work can be used to track the direction of thunderstorm movement.

Te 도핑된 InSb의 수직 브릿지만 결정성장시 횡적자장이 거시편석에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Transverse Magnetic Field on Macrosegregation in Vertical Bridgman Crystal Growth of Te doped InSb)

  • An investigation of the effects of transverse magnetic field on melt convection and macrosegregation in vertical Bridgman growth of Te doped InSb was carried out by means of microstructure observation, the measurement of Te distribution by Hall measurement, electrical resistivity measurement and X-ray analysis. Prior to the experiments, interface stability, convective instability and suppression of convection by magnetic field were examined. A thermosolutal convection in the Te doped InSb melt occurred in the examined growth condition without magnetic field. The effective distribution coefficient, $K_{eff}$, was about 0.35 without magnetic field, 0.45 with magnetic field of 2kG, and 0.7 at 4kG. It was found that the stronger the applied magnetic field was, the more the convection was suppressed.
