In order to obtain the field efficiency of the power tiller plowing on the various size of and its length-width field tests were performed with 8ps.10ps. power tiller popularly used in the korean rural area, and Satoh 5ps. made in Japan, Land Master 5ps. made in England were tested to compare with the field efficiency of the above power tillers. The results obtained in this tests were as follows ; 1. In considering of the resting time and the refueling time and others, the field efficiency of Satoh was the highest among the power tillers as to be 80%, at the 8ps. power tiller 76.5%, at the 10ps. power tiller 79.3% and the lowest field efficiency was obtained at the Land Master as 75.7%. 2. The field efficiency of the each power tiller increased as the ratio of the length to width of the field was increased. 3. The increasing rate of field efficiency was much bigger in the below the ratio of 5 : 1 but at the upper ratio increased above, the ratio was nearly constant. 4. The field efficiency of the power tiller was higher at the smaller power tiller than the larger, except the Land Master , because of easily operating and turning of the power tiller by virtue of its lighter weight.
Various type of in-situ and laboratary tests were performed in order to evaluate the stiffness of sedimentary soft rock. In triaxial compression tests of sedimentary soft rocks, axial strains from the axial displacement of the loading piston or specimen cap conventionally were considerably larger than those measured. tocally on the lateral surfaces of specimen, due to the bedding errors at the top and bottom ends of a specimen. A local deformation transducer was used to measure axial strains free from the bedding error ranging from 0.001% to about 1%. In ultra-sonic wave tests, the elastic modulus of unconfined spec imens was smaller than that of confined specimens, due probably to microfracks. Young's modulus Ed from ultra-sonic wave tests and those at small local strains from triaxial tests were similar, both of which agreed very well with Young's modulus Er from field shear wave velocities. Young'a modulus from the field behaviour was virtually similar to that obtained by reducing Er based on the strain level-dependency of stiffness evaluated by the triaxial tests.

This paper describes the results of laboratory and field performance tests on the polymer modified asphalt binder and mixtures developed in this study for porous asphalt pavements. Various physical and mechanical laboratory tests including DSR and BBR tests are performed for two types of modified binders, and one type of binder is selected based on the binder testing results. Mix designs are conducted for the selected asphalt binder and a Japanese modified binder, respectively. Various performance tests including fatigue tests, wheel tracking tests, and moisture susceptibility tests are conducted for the domestic and Japanese porous asphalt mixtures. Test results indicate that the overall performance characteristics of the domestic mixture are similar to or better than those of the Japanese mixture. Based on the laboratory testing results, the domestic porous mixture is applied to a field test section. Periodic field investigations are conducted to evaluate the changes in noise level and air voids with time. The road noise analysis shows that the noise levels of the porous pavement keep increasing and, after two years, are similar to those of SMA pavements.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate for strain measurement of concrete pavement slab at field. The early-age behaviors of concrete pavement were measured using the strain gages. From the static and dynamic wheel loading tests, the outputs from each gages were recorded. The measured data, also, was compared to those from finite element analysis. The static wheel loading tests were performed in twice, and the dynamic wheel loading tests were performed at the speed 10km-50km. The results could be summarized as follows: To embed the strain gage accurately and stably in concrete pavement, a chair and protective box must be used. The protective box must not be affected from the outside vibrating. From the results of early-age stram measurement, it was found that the strain varied at the maximum value of $180{\mu}{\varepsilon}$ From the results of static wheel loading tests, A1, A2 and B gages generally developed a consistent tendency When comparing the results from the measured at field and the calculated by FEM analysis, the data of A1 and B gages were similar to that from theory. The values from the field test were generally higher than that from the theory. From the results of dynamic wheel loading tests, it was known that the measured strain at field became smaller as the truck speed became faster, Indicating the maximum at the range of $12{\sim}13{\mu}{\varepsilon}$.
A 5-row walking garlic harvester with pulling mechanism was developed in the study, based upon a kinematical analysis and related preliminary field tests on the conventional garlic harvesting method. The harvesting efficiency of the developed harvester was more than 98% in the garlic field irrigated before harvesting, 80-85% in the field without irrigation. The harvesting performance of the harvester was 660∼825㎡/hr at the forward speed of harvester of 0.3m/s in the irrigated field before garlic harvesting. For proper garlic drying and collection, the harvester discharged the harvested garlic on the ground uniformly at the angles of 135。∼150。 to its forward direction with the garlic bulb's placing toward the harvester. In the field tests, it was recommended that the forward speed of the harvester be approximately less than 0.2m/s, and that the spacing of planting garlic seeds should be standardized in the future fur increasing its harvesting efficiency.
The magnetic resonance imaging method is a technology that can diagnose patients using local magnetic field through local magnetic field through local magnetic field through local magnetic field and STEAM method using local magnetic field Currently, many diseases can diagnose many diseases using self-resonance methods. The purpose of this study is to provide optimal information about using magnetic resonance imaging method according to patients. In many studies, self-resonance imaging showed that self-resonance methods can effectively inspect brain cancer and liver diseases. mong them, this study, brain tumor tests, cervical cancer tests based on literature, there were effective parts of these four diseases, but it was clearly found that they should not use in clinical trials, but it is clearly found to improve and improve and improve. Therefore, it is believed that it will be based on the future studies.
Piezocone penetration testing(CPTu) results such as cone resistance$(q_c)$, sleeve friction$(f_s)$, and pore pressure(u), have been carried out at 5 sites in Honam high-speed railway areas of Korea, in order to continuously estimate the characteristics of soil layers and the undrained shear strength$(S_u)$ in a soft ground. For the applications of the conventional CPTu results to undrained shear strength, the cone factors$(N_{kt})$ were deduced based on Field vane tests, and Monte-Carlo Simulation(MCS). Moreover the correlations of the undrained shear strength of CPTu by soil depths were compared and revised with the results of triaxial compression(UU test), field vane and Dilatometer tests(DMT). The depths of soft foundation at 5 sites in Honam high-speed railway areas were calculated based on the results of the various field tests in addition CPTu. The applicability of CPTu for a soft foundation criterion referred to the criteria of high-speed railway and related agencies in Korea was evaluated.

The susceptibility of radiata pine sapwood to fungal attack and the ability of selected fungicides to control colonization of sapstain and mold fungi on green radiata pine sapwood were evaluated. Radiata pine sapwood was highly susceptible to fungal staining, suggesting that prompt application of fungicides after sawing is essential for preventing fungal colonization. The ability of commercial fungicides to prevent fungal discoloration on radiata pine sapwood was assessed using an accelerated 6-week test on small samples in the laboratory, and in field tests using bulk-piled boards exposed outdoors for 6 weeks during summer rainy season. In laboratory tests, Hylite extra provided excellent protection against fungal discoloration even at the lowest concentrations. Hylite clear, Britewood S, and NP-1 Plus provided good short-term protection(2 to 4 weeks), but higher chemical loadings were, required for long-term protection(6 weeks). Woodguard produced little or no protection over the test periods. In field tests, Kathon 893 provided markedly superior protection at the concentration of 0.5 percent or higher. NP-1 Plus provided relatively good protection at all concentrations evaluated. Hylite extra was effective only for short-term protection(2 to 4 weeks) at all concentrations tested, but higher solution strengths were needed for longterm protection.

Biological control of important fungal diseases such as Phytophthora blight of red pepper, gary mold rot of vegetables, and powdery mildew of many crops was attempted using an antagonistic bacterium, Bacillus sp. AC-1 in greenhouses and fields. The antagonistic bacterium isolated from the rhizosphere soils of healthy red pepper plant was very effective in the inhibition of mycelial growth of plant pathogenic fungi in vitro including Phytophthora capsici, Rhizoctonia solani, Pyricularia oryzae, Botrytis cinerea, Valsa mali, Fusarium oxysporum, Pythium ultimum, Alternari mali, Helminthosporium oryzae, and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Culture filtrate of antagonistic Bacillus sp. AC-1 applied to pot soils infested with Phytophthora capsici suppressed the disease occurrence better than metalaxyl application did until 37 days after treatment in greenhouse tests. Treatments of the bacterial suspension on red pepper plants also reduced the incidence of Phytophthora blight in greenhouse tests. In farmers' commercial production fields, however, the controlling efficacy of the antagonistic bacteria was variable depending on field locations. Gray mold rot of chinese chives and lettuce caused by Botrytis cinerea was also controlled effectively in field tests by the application of Bacillus sp. AC-1 with control values of 79.7% and 72.8%, respectively. Spraying of the bacterial suspension inhibited development of powdery mildew of many crops such as cucumber, tobacco, melon, and rose effectively in greenhouse and field tests. The control efficacy of the bacterial suspension was almost same as that of Fenarimol used as a chemical standard. Further experiments for developing a commercial product from the antagonistic bacteria and for elucidating antagonistic mechanism against plant pathogenic fungi are in progress.
