Spatio-Angular Consistent Edit Propagation for 4D Light Field Image (4 차원 Light Field 영상에서의 일관된 각도-공간적 편집 전파)

  • In this paper, we present a consistent and efficient edit propagation method that is applied for light field data. Unlike conventional sparse edit propagation, the coherency between light field sub-aperture images is fully considered by utilizing light field consistency in the optimization framework. Instead of directly solving the optimization function on all light field sub-aperture images, the proposed optimization framework performs sparse edit propagation in the extended focus image domain. The extended focus image is the representative image that contains implicit depth information and the well-focused region of all sub-aperture images. The edit results in the extended focus image are then propagated back to each light field sub-aperture image. Experimental results on test images captured by a Lytro off-the-shelf light field camera confirm that the proposed method provides robust and consistent results of edited light field sub-aperture images.

  • This paper treats accelerated life tests for automotive connector. The contact resistance of connector is explained by some factors; the use time(calender time, real cycle), stresses and loads adapted in auto test. The relationships between contact resistance and some factors are compared and analyzed by regression models in various test conditions; field use-environment, manufacturer's test environment, and accelerated test condition. The consistency between of manufacturer's test and field test is examined. Finally, the future study on accelerated test for automotive connector is presented.

  • The issue of climate change, which calls for urgent and improved action by countries around the world, requires cooperation from the international community. Therefore, consistency among various policies on climate change is particularly important. This study analyzes the relationship between the implementation of SDGs and the scale of assistance in the field of climate change in order to see if there is consistency between domestic policy and aid policy to address climate change issues. An analysis of the correlation between the indices related to the domestic implementation of SDGs and ODA amounts in the field of climate change by OECD countries was conducted. As a result, there is a significant negative correlation between imported CO2 emissions and the portion of climate change ODA. On the other hand, the amount of CO2 emissions embodied in fossil fuel export is significantly positively correlated with the portion of ODA for climate change. Consistency between domestic and aid policies of OECD countries in the field of climate change is not sufficiently ensured, and climate change, the cross-cutting issue, is not being pursued in a consistent direction across national policy.

  • Initial reliability prediction done by calculation would be more practical if support by evidence from customer usage profile and field failure data to improve the prediction. Thus, the consistency of the design and the product would be practically validated. In this paper, it will address rationale and method to decide on Acceleration Factor (AF) to be used in Accelerated Life Test (ALT) through usage profile and field failure. The case study of tractor transmission is used to demonstrate the method which data obtained from surveys done on farmers, field visits and field failure data from service center. By considering all the elements, it will determine more relevant AF which indicates the real use conditions of the component.

  • The Hodge-Helmholtz decomposition splits a vector field into the unique sum of a divergence-free vector field (solenoidal part) and a gradient field (irrotational part). In a bounded domain, a boundary condition needs to be supplied to the decomposition. The decomposition with the non-penetration boundary condition is equivalent to solving the Poisson equation with the Neumann boundary condition. The Gibou-Min method is an application of the Poisson solver by Purvis and Burkhalter to the decomposition. Using the $L^2$-orthogonality between the error vector and the consistency, the convergence for approximating the divergence-free vector field was recently proved to be $O(h^{1.5})$ with step size h. In this work, we analyze the convergence of the irrotattional in the decomposition. To the end, we introduce a discrete version of the Poincare inequality, which leads to a proof of the O(h) convergence for the scalar variable of the gradient field in a domain with general intersection property.

  • In distributed file-systems, cooperative caching algorithm which owns the data cached at each node jointly is used to reduce an expense of disk access. Cooperative caching algorithm is the method that increases a cache hit-ratio and decrease a disk access as it holds the cache information of distributed systems in common and makes cache larger virtually. Recently, several cooperative caching algorithms decrease the message costs by using approximate information of the cache and increase the cache hit-ratio by using local and global cache fields dynamically. And they have an advantage that increases the whole field hit-ratio by sending a replaced buffer to the idle node on buffers replacement in order to maintain the replaced cache in the cache field. However the wrong approximate information deteriorates the performance, the consistency maintenance goes to great expense to exchange messages and the cost that manages Age-information of each node to choose the idle node increases. In this thesis, we propose a cooperative cache algorithm that maintains correct cache information, minimizes the maintenance cost for consistency and the management cost for buffer Age-information. Also, we show the superiority of our algorithm through the performance evaluation.

At this point, a value of information assets regards important, a study of high performance backup system for disaster recovery countermeasure is a field to impact on business directly. Therefore, this study executes duplication of high performance backup system and data consistency verification. And, a performance of comparison to DB table recovery process, a transaction process speed of duplication according to network bandwidth, and performance evaluation were executed.

An efficient Video Dehazing Algorithm Based on Spectral Clustering

  • Image and video dehazing is a popular topic in the field of computer vision and digital image processing. A fast, optimized dehazing algorithm was recently proposed that enhances contrast and reduces flickering artifacts in a dehazed video sequence by minimizing a cost function that makes transmission values spatially and temporally coherent. However, its fixed-size block partitioning leads to block effects. The temporal cost function also suffers from the temporal non-coherence of newly appearing objects in a scene. Further, the weak edges in a hazy image are not addressed. Hence, a video dehazing algorithm based on well designed spectral clustering is proposed. To avoid block artifacts, the spectral clustering is customized to segment static scenes to ensure the same target has the same transmission value. Assuming that edge images dehazed with optimized transmission values have richer detail than before restoration, an edge intensity function is added to the spatial consistency cost model. Atmospheric light is estimated using a modified quadtree search. Different temporal transmission models are established for newly appearing objects, static backgrounds, and moving objects. The experimental results demonstrate that the new method provides higher dehazing quality and lower time complexity than the previous technique.

  • Nighttime construction is being adopted by many state DOT's as a way to mitigate the impact of construction operations on the traveling public. Although a number of states have developed standard specifications for nighttime lighting, these standards are usually in the form of generic requirement statements that only specify minimum illuminance levels. The lighting standards do not include specific ways to achieve this illuminance level such as lighting arrangements and configurations for various work zone plans and construction operations. This leaves confusion between the traffic engineers and the contractors and does not guarantee consistency in those plans, thus affecting productivity and safety (lighting conditions account for 18% to 28% of work zone accidents). The main objective of this study is to utilize three dimensional animation and lighting analysis software to study and model lighting conditions of a construction site. This is expected to increase the safety and productivity of construction operations by achieving consistency in work zone lighting schemes. A computerized model was developed, called Nitelite. Various lighting schemes can be studied using the software to provide for typical applications including lighting fixture's locations, luminance, mounting height, tilt angle, and fixture type. The results from the developed software tool were validated through comparisons with previous research conducted using field measurements.

  • T Abstract This study investigates the influence of differential factors on learner satisfaction by field-independent learning style in e-learning. Most of data were collected from students. Participants were classified based on a learning style typology (field-independent/dependent) and, then, analyzed was the influence of key factors on learner satisfaction using multiple regression analysis. This study suggests that e-Learning service providers need to differentiate learners based on learning style in order to improve learner satisfaction. Specially, Field independent learners are more likely to be satisfied by the teacher's provide degree of joyful, degree of contents, degree of learning control pacing, ability of problem solving and consistency.
