  • The properties of magnetic suppositories used in medicine has been tested with M ssbauer spectroscopy methods. The experiments were carried out on magnetic rectal suppositories containing parmadine and fine-dispersed ferrite powder BaO.nFe$_2$O$_3$as a magnetic filler. According to the data on the value of effective magnetic field on $^{57}$ Fe nuclei in ferrite magnetic sublattices, the stoichiometric n-number equals approximately 5.5; this vague corresponds to the composition range of optimal magnetic properties.

  • The magnetization directions of a polar magnetized ferrite bonded magnet are analyzed by finite element method (FEM). The influence of the width of SmCo magnets for magnetic field generation is investigated. The surface flux densities of the polar anisotropic magnets are analyzed and compared according to the pole number and thickness of the magnets. And the electromotive force (EMF) values of brushless DC motors with the magnets are investigated. The validity of the analysis method is verified by comparing the analyzed results with measured ones.

  • In this paper, Electronic ballast for multiple fluorescent lamps based on the use of ferrite beads are presented. The use of this system in place of the conventional electromagnetic ballast results in lower power consumption and reduced maintenance cost, because the electronic system has higher efficiency and longer lamp lifetime than the electromagnetic ballast. In comparison with the conventional electronic ballast. The proposed system presents a significant reduction of cost. This reduction becomes were meaningful with the growing of the lamp number. The description of the lighting system, We show that the proposed model can be applied to multiple lamps electronic ballast by simulation processes.

  • In contrast to a conventional transformer, the flat transformer is made using a number of small ferrite cores. Two cores for transformer and one core for inductor, which composed one module. Many modules can be connected together to form a flat matrix transformer. This structural arrangement eliminates the single hot spot problem in conventional transformers and permits high current density pertains at high frequency. In this study, the ferrite magnetic cores of Mn-Zn system for the Flat transformer were manufactured and the electrical and magnetic characteristics of its tested. The power loss of sample FO2(Mn-Zn ferrite) sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ was $350kW/m^3$ in test conditions of 250kHz, 200mT and $100^{\circ}C$, which showed the good power loss property in high frequency. The power loss of FO2 samples has been studied as a function of magnetic flux density and frequency. Steinmetz exponent was 2.82 at 250kHz and 2.73 at 500kHz. These results illustrated the switching of power loss mechanism in ferrite core from hysteresis losses to eddy current losses or others.

  • It is required the superior materials for the parts of machines or structures, which could be endurable in severe load and environment. According to advancement of casting technology, nodular graphite cast iron is used as suitable for such condition. But nodular graphite cast iron is scattering of fatigue strength and low reliability. Therefore in this study, the effect of matrix structure and number of nodular graphite on the initiation of fatigue crack and fatigue strength. It was found that the material which has relatively high ferrite volume fraction was more easily cracked than other materials and fatigue limit was low. The material which has not found pinhole on the surface, the crack was initiated in graphite went through ferrite and propagated into through graphite, but separated graphite and ferrite grain boundary and combined with other cracks to fro large one.

  • An electric power efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamp has big relative propertye of gas in lamp, gas pressure, lamp formation, ingredients of magnetic substance and shape and action frequency etc. We used magnetic substance that open self-examination material of electrodeless fluorescent lamp antenna. Ferrite that is used in this experiment was Mn-Zn type. Coill turn was changed from 13th to 15th turn to recognize brightness change of lamp by winding number. Optical equipment that used in an experiment was used to measure brightness (LS-100). When an electrodeless fluorescent lamp was made using and T company's PE22, was it showed the highest brightness. As number of winding is increased the brightness increased, and starting characteristic became good.

A Study on the EMI Denoising Using the Ferrite Core for Facsimile (페라이트 코어를 이용한 팩시밀리에서의 EMI 제거에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we design a ring inductor using the ferrite core to denoise the EMI(Electromagnetic Interference) for facsimile. The EMI for facsimile is radiated from the signal line of PSTN(Public Switching Telephone Network) between facsimile and PSTN. We denoise the radiated noise by inserting a ferrite core(Ni-Zn) between facsimile and PSTN. Even though we may denoise the radiated noise using two or more than two ferrite cores, we only concentrate on denoising EMI by adjusting number of turns of one ferrite core since it gives economical gain. As a result of measuring EMI using the designed inductor with 4 turns inserted in the line connected between facsimile and PSTN, the value of radiated emission is reduced below 30 dB$\mu$V/m.

  • Recently, the number of systems which utilize wireless power transmission to a receiving module in a short distance is increasing. For efficient use of receiving space, coils are wound around the ferrite core to produce electromotive force(emf) in suppling power by wireless transmission. This paper analyzed the magnetic flux density distribution in the ferrite core in magnetic field environment which is uniformly oriented along to a single axis at 125kHz. For numerical analysis, Ansoft Maxwell which is applying the FEM(Finite Element Method) method was used. We studied the variations of the gathered magnetic fluxes to the changes of the relative permeabilities of the ferrite cores. Also we calculated the magnetic flux variation by shaving the ferrite core off for the groove of coil winding. Results showed that using a small ferrite core in magnetic field at 100kHz band can increase the amount of magnetic flux $3{\sim}4 times$ than without the core. The magnetic flux decreased 23% by shaving the core 0.5 mm on the periphery of 4.75 mm radius core with the relative permeability 800.

  • There have been a number of works on manufacturing ultrafine grained steels with average ferrite grain sizes of smaller than a few micrometers to develop beneficial high strength steels. Among microstructures in low carbon steels, lath martensite is known to be useful to produce an ultrafine grained ferrite matrix and finely globular cementite particle. Thus, severe plastic deformation and subsequent annealing at lower temperature of lath martensite would become an effective way to produce ultrafine grained steels. However, most ultrafine grained steels exhibited a total elongation of a few per cent in tensile tests. Such a defect is one of the primary factors restricting the potential applications of ultrafine grained steels. Therefore, the improvement of the strength-elongation balance is required for the application of ultrafine grained structural steels. In this study, the effect of deformation temperatures on microstructure, such as ferrite grain size and the distribution of cementite particles, and mechanical property of lath martensite steels, was investigated. Specimens were fabricated through cold rolling or warm rolling and subsequent annealing.
