Microwave Absorbing Characteristic Improvement by Permittivity Control of Ferrite Composite Microwave Absorber (유전율제어에 의한 복합 Ferrite 전파흡수체의 성능향상)

  • The material constants(the complex permeability and permittivity) of ferrite composite determine its microwave absorbing characteristics. Therefore, in order to improve the microwave absorbing characteristics, it is necessary to control the material constants of the ferrite composite. In this study, the method of improving microwave absorbing characteristics by control of permittivity of ferrite composite which has not satisfying matching condition in C-X band (4 GHz~12.4 GHz) was investigated. It was possible to control the permittivity by adjusting graphite loading ratio in the ferrite composite microwave absorber. It was also concluded that the control of permittivity of ferrite composite is effective method to improve the microwave absorbing characteristics.

  • The magnetic polishing is the useful method to finish some machinery fabrications by using magnetic power. This method is one of the precision techniques and has m aim for clean technology in the transportation of the pure gas in the clean pipes. The magnetic abrasive polishing method is not so common in the field of machine that it is not known to widely. There are rarely researcher in this field because of non-effectiveness of magnetic abrasive. Therefore, in this paper we deals with the development of the magnetic abrasive with the use of Ba-Ferrite. In this development, abrasive grain WA has been made by using the min bond fabricated at low temperature. And magnetic abrasive powder was fabricated from the Ba-Ferrite which was crushed into 200 mesh. The XRD analysis result shows that only WA abrasive and Ba-Ferrite crystal peaks were detected, explaining that resin bond was not any more to contribute chemical reaction. From SEM analysis, we found that WA abrasive and Ba-Ferrite were strongly bonding with each other.

  • In electrode-less lamp, The key point in creating an efficient light source based on RF discharge is to minimize the RF power loss in the RF coupler which for Anderson's type of RF lamp is due to losses in the ferrite core. This loss depends on the particular ferrite material, its size, geometry, frequency in this kind of inductive lamp shows that the correct choice of discharge current has a crucial effect on the core loss. In this study, we measured Ferrite temperature in normal state, then analyzed electrical and optical characteristics according to ferrite shape. We were able to know that was ferrite of the antenna had relate closely with temperature and luminous of the lamp. Also we appraised temperature and electrical, optical properties during turn on the lamp.

  • Effects of microstructure on the toughness of low carbon HSLA steels were investigated. Nickel decreased the ferrite-austenite transformation temperature, resulted in increase of the fraction of bainitic ferrite. However, it was decreased with increasing deformation amount at austenite region. Since fine austenite grains formed by dynamic recrystallization under large strain transformed to acicular ferrite or granular bainite rather than bainitic ferrite. The effective grain size, thus, was decreased by deformation and it resulted in lower ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT). The bainitic ferrite was thought to inhibit the fracture crack initiation and to delay the crack propagation by its high dislocation density and hard interlath $2^{nd}$ phase constituents, respectively. Thus, DBTT was also decreased by Ni addition in low carbon HSLA steels.

  • Sr-ferrite powders were synthesized by molten salt method. The process of powder formation was investigated by controlling the size and shape (sphere and acicular) of starting materials. The morphology of resulting ferrite was plate-like regardless of the shape of starting materials, Fe2O3 powders. As a result, the formation of Sr-ferrite in the molten salt was proceeded by solution-precipitation.

  • Ba-ferrite and Sr-ferrite are mostly used for permanent magnetic materials. In this work, we investigated Pb-ferrite which is studying now at abroad. We studied the most appropriate mole percent of PbO to Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$, calcinating temperature and time, sintering temperature and time, and further investigated effects of the annex(NaBiO$_{3}$) The method of appraisment is the microscope for meta and B-H curve by flaxmeter.

  • To realize the RF layer of Rubber Ferrite-Air-Solid Ferrite(RF-A-F) that proposed by Y.Naito it is tried to grasp the formulation of composition by varying the ratio of mole and element of Complex Isotropic Ferrite Nix-A0.1-Zn(1-x-0.1)*Fe2O4 As a result it was found that the characteristics of the electromagnetic wave absorber constructed by the selected formulation of compositionin in RF-A-F type were improved.

  • In the present study, the microstructure and Charpy V notch toughness of multipass $CO_2$ FCA weldment in three different heat inputs(1-3KJ/mm)were investigated. The weldments using two different domestic FCAW wires(AWS E71T-1 and E71T-5 equivalent) in C-Mn steel were chemically analysed. The following conclusions can be inferred. 1. T-1 wire Showed a stable arc transfer, less spatter and harsh, a better bead spreading and easy slag removal, whereas T-5 wire suffered from the arc stability, which tended to increase spatter and produce a more convex bead. 2.The microsturctures of the top beads of the weldments in three different heat inputs consisted of coarse-grained boundary ferrite and Widmanstatten ferrite side plate with increasing heat inputs. The modest fraction of acicular ferrite in the two wire weldments was observed in the 2KJ/mm heat input. 3.The fine-grained reheated zones of both welds consisted of a duplex microstructure of polygonal ferrite and second phases. 4. The basic flux weldment of T-5wires showed a higher Charpy impact property than that of T-1 wires because of a higher fraction of acicular ferrite in the weld microstructure.
