  • This paper presents a novel close-loop control scheme based on small signal modeling and weighted composite voltage feedback for a three-phase input and single-phase output Matrix Converter (3-1MC). A small non-polar capacitor is employed as the decoupling unit. The composite voltage weighted by the load voltage and the decoupling unit voltage is used as the feedback value for the voltage controller. Together with the current loop, the dual-loop control is implemented in the 3-1MC. In this paper, the weighted composite voltage expression is derived based on the sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) strategy. The switch functions of the 3-1MC are deduced, and the average signal model and small signal model are built. Furthermore, the stability and dynamic performance of the 3-1MC are studied, and simulation and experiment studies are executed. The results show that the control method is effective and feasible. They also show that the design is reasonable and that the operating performance of the 3-1MC is good.

  • In this paper, a new precharge type PFD for fast locking time of PLL is suggested. It is realized by inserting NMOS transistor and inverter into the precharge part of PFD for isolating the reset of the Up signal from the feedback signal. The new precharge type PFD generates the Up signal while the feedback signal is fixed at a high level. Therefore the new PFD output is increased than the conventional precharge type PFD output. As a result of the increased PFD output, fast locking of PLLs is achieved. Additionally, with control the falling time of the inverter, the dead-zone is reduced and the jitter characteristics are improved. The whole characteristics of PFD and PLL are simulated by using HSPICE. Simulation results show that the dead-zone is 20ps and the locking time of PLL using the new PFD is 38ns at the 350MHz frequency of referecne signal. This value is quite small compared with conventional PFD.

This was applied to the ATSC system. The on-channel repeater of the proposed interference cancellation based on the interference removing capability is improved in interference signal is 20dB greater than the primary transmission signal environment via the return channel estimation and improve performance RFP. Accordingly, it was confirmed by simulation that good signal is sent out with the improvement of the ability of the repeater.

  • In order to use more efficiently limited frequency resources at the broadcasting band and to eliminate blanket area of the terrestrial broadcasting and to improve broadcasting quality. The importance of repeaters has increasing continuously. However, in case of T-DMB digital on channel repeater in OFDM systems, some of the signal radiated feedback again at the receiver antenna. So it generates feedback signal interference in repeater system. Also phase noise increases ICI(Inter Carrier Interference). It affects seriously the frequency domain equalizer. In this paper, we remove the feedback signal interference by LMS with correlation. Also we propose an effective equalizer algorithm that can remove ICI caused by phase noise and the power amplifier's back-off. In this simulation results, this system is satisfied the performance of BER=$10^{-4}$ at less than SNR=14 dB after compensation of phase noise.

  • The importance of aviation safety has been emphasized recently due to the development of aviation industry. Despite the efforts of each country and the improvement of screening equipment, screening tasks are still difficult and detection failures are frequent. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of feedback on improving signal detection performance applying a Simulated Baggage Screening Program(SBSP) for improving aviation safety. SBSP consists of three parts: image combination, option setting and experiment. The experimental images were color-coded to reflect the items' transmittance of the x-rays and could be combined as researchers' need. In the option, the researcher could set up the information, incentive, and comments needed for training to be delivered on a number of tasks and times. Experiment was conducted using SBSP and participant's performance information (hit, missed, false alarms, correct rejection, reaction time, etc.) was automatically calculated and stored. A total of 50 participants participated and each participant was randomly assigned to feedback and non-feedback group. Participants performed a total of 200 tasks and 20(10%) contained target object(gun and knife). The results showed that when the feedback was provided, the hit, correct rejection ratio and d′ were increased, however, the false alarms and miss decreased. However, there was no significant difference in response criteria(${\beta}$). In addition, implications, limitations of this study and future research were discussed.

  • This study presents a feedback control methodology for suppression of the vortex shedding from a circular cylinder in a uniform flow. A rotational oscillation is applied as a controlled forcing and the lift coefficient ($C_L$) is used as a feedback signal. A feedback control concept is made based on the phase relation between the rotation velocity and $C_L$ at 'lock-on', The phase between the forcing and the vortex formation is changed $180^{\circ}$ from the phase of enhancing the lock-on state. This concept is examined by solving the Van del Pol equation. The results are satisfactory.

  • This paper presents a new sensorless control scheme using simple duty signal feedback technique in DC-DC converters. The proposed sensorless control scheme (DFC) has the characteristics that they show the same as operation performance of current mode control by using duty feedback technique without current sensor as well as present better dynamic response performance than conventional sensorless current mode control (SCM) in case that input source is perturbed by step change or DC input source includes the . harmonics. Also, the proposed control scheme has good noise immunity and simple control circuits since they have one feedback loop, and can be applied to all DC-DC converters. The concept and control principles of the proposed control scheme are explained in detail and the validity of the proposed control scheme is verified through several interesting simulated results.

  • Base station coordination has received much attention as a means to reduce the inter-cell interference in cellular networks. However, this interference reducing ability comes at the expense of increased feedback, backhaul load and computational complexity. The degree of coordination is therefore limited in practice. In this paper, we explore the trade-off between capacity and feedback load in a cellular network with coordination clusters. Our main interest lies in a scenario with multiple fading users in each cell. The results indicate that a large fraction of the total gain can be achieved by a significant reduction in feedback. We also find an approximate expression for the distribution of the instantaneous signal to interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and propose a new effective scheduling algorithm.

  • The transcutaneous energy transmission system (TETS) composed of a Class-E amplifier may operate at a state away from the optimum power transmission due to the load variation. By introducing the feedback-loop technique, the TETS can keep the optimum state with constant output voltage by adjusting the important design parameters, that is, the duty ratio and frequency of the driving signal and the supply voltage. The relations between these adjusted parameters and the load are investigated. The effectiveness of the feedback technique is validated through a design example with a variable load parameter. The experimental results show that the Class-E amplifier in the feedback loop can keep operating at the optimum state under the condition of up to 50 percent variation of the load value.

  • In multi-user wireless communication systems, adaptive modulation and scheduling are promising techniques for increasing the system throughput. However, a mass of wireless recourse will be occupied and spectrum efficiency will be decreased to feedback channel quality indication (CQI) of all users in every subcarrier or chunk for adaptive orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Thus numerous limited feedback schemes are proposed to reduce the system overhead. The recently proposed compressive sensing (CS) theory provides a new framework to jointly measure and compress signals that allows less sampling and storage resources than traditional approaches based on Nyquist sampling. In this paper, we proposed two novel CQI feedback schemes based on general CS and subspace CS, respectively, both of which could be used in a wireless OFDM system. The feedback rate with subspace CS is greatly decreased by exploiting the subspace information of the underlying signal. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed methods, with the same feedback rate, the throughputs with subspace CS outperform the discrete cosine transform (DCT) based method which is usually employed, and the throughputs with general CS outperform DCT when the feedback rate is larger than 0.13 bits/subcarrier.
