In this paper, we proposed a blind watermarking algerian to use characteristics of a scalar quantizer which is the recommended in the JPEG2000 and JPEG. The proposed algorithm shifts a quantization index according to the value of each watermark bit to prevent losing the watermark information during the compression by quantization. Therefore, the watermark is embedded during the process of quantization, not an additional process for watermarking, and is adaptively applied as a assigned quantizer according application areas. Before embedding process, a LFSR(Linear feedback shift register) rearranged the watermark for the security of the watermark itself and in the embedding process, a LFSR is used to hide the watermarking positions. Therefore the embedded watermark can he extracted by only the owner who knows the initial value of LFSR without the original image. The visual recognizable pattern such as a binary image was used as the watermark. The experimental results showed that the proposed algerian satisfies the robustness and imperceptibility corresponding to the major requirement of watermarking. The results showed the largest error rate to be $5.7\%$ for attack. The experimental result which compares the proposed algorithm with the Mohamed algorithm showed that the proposed algorithm was better than it, exactly $4\~5$ times for the attacks of JPEG and JPEG2000.

In the distributed video coding (DVC) system, the difference between the side information and the original Wyner-Ziv frame is corrected using channel codes and the additional parity bits are requested through feedback channel if the error is not corrected. The efficient bit rate control is important to use the DVC system in the band-limited channel, such as mobile communication environments. In this paper, the constant bit rate control method in the encoder of the DVC system is proposed. The coding performance as well as the bit rate is efficiently controlled by the proposed method.

In this paper, we propose the BAG (Bit-width Aware Generator) and the Intermediate Layer Knowledge Distillation using Channel-wise Attention to reduce the knowledge gap between a quantized network, a full-precision network, and a generator in GDFQ (Generative Data-Free Quantization). Since the generator in GDFQ is only trained by the feedback from the full-precision network, the gap resulting in decreased capability due to low bit-width of the quantized network has no effect on training the generator. To alleviate this problem, BAG is quantized with same bit-width of the quantized network, and it can generate synthetic images, which are effectively used for training the quantized network. Typically, the knowledge gap between the quantized network and the full-precision network is also important. To resolve this, we compute channel-wise attention of outputs of convolutional layers, and minimize the loss function as the distance of them. As the result, the quantized network can learn which channels to focus on more from mimicking the full-precision network. To prove the efficiency of proposed methods, we quantize the network trained on CIFAR-100 with 3 bit-width weights and activations, and train it and the generator with our method. As the result, we achieve 56.14% Top-1 Accuracy and increase 3.4% higher accuracy compared to our baseline AdaDFQ.
Multiuser communication has been an important research area of underwater acoustic communications and networking. This paper studies the use of adaptive orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) in a downlink scenario, where a central node sends data to multiple distributed nodes simultaneously. In practical implementations, the instantaneous channel state information (CSI) cannot be perfectly known by the central node in time-varying underwater acoustic (UWA) channels, due to the long propagation delays resulting from the low sound speed. In this paper, we explore the CSI feedback for resource allocation. An adaptive power-bit loading algorithm is presented, which assigns subcarriers to different users and allocates power and bits to each subcarrier, aiming to minimize the bit error rate (BER) under power and throughput constraints. Simulation results show considerable performance gains due to adaptive subcarrier allocation and further improvement through power and bit loading, as compared to the non-adaptive interleave subcarrier allocation scheme. In a lake experiment, channel feedback reduction is implemented through subcarrier clustering and uniform quantization. Although the performance gains are not as large as expected, experiment results confirm that adaptive subcarrier allocation schemes based on delayed channel feedback or long term statistics outperform the interleave subcarrier allocation scheme.

The transmit adaptive array requires the forward link channel information for evaluating the optimum transmit weight vector in which a feedback channel provides transmitter with the forward link channel information. The larger transmit adaptive array is, the higher required rate of feedback channel is. Therefore we consider the system that the N-transmit antenna system is expanded to the 2N-transmit antenna system, while the feedback channel is maintained as that of N-transmit antenna system. The increase of the number of antennas can produce the additional diversity gain, however the insufficient feedback bits assigned to each antenna aggravates the quantization error. In this paper, we propose the transmit antenna selection in order to improve the performance of transmit adaptive array having an insufficient feedback channel information. The effective method to transmit the weight vector is also introduced. System performances are investigated for the case of N=4 corresponding to the antenna selection diversity schemes on the flat fading channel and the multipath fading channel. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the system performance by 1 dB when the N is expanded to the 2N, while the feedback channel is restricted to that of N-transmit antenna system.

Transcoding is the key technique to further reduce the bit-rate of a previously compressed video. The performance of the transcoding is evaluated by the two factors, the accuracy on the target bit-rate and the complexity of the implementation. In this paper, were propose a new rate control algorithm which has very accurate bit-rate control performance and much smaller computational complexity. For the accuracy problem, we empirically observe the relationship between the quantization step size and generated bits in requantization process and then find that the relationship can be characterized as the new piece-wise linear model. For the complexity problem, we reduce the role of feedback rate control. The simulation results show that the proposed method gives the better performance in the accuracy with the same picture quality than conventional rat control algorithm.

In this paper, we propose an IFFT/FFT design method to minimize quantization error in IEEE 802.11a WLAN. In the proposed algorithm, the twiddle coefficient of IFFT/FFT processor is manipulated by the statistics distribution of the input data at each stage. We applies this algorithm to radix-2/$^2$ SDF architecture. Both IFFT and FFT processor shares the circuit blocks cause to the symmetric architecture. The maximum quantization error with the 10 bits length of the input and output data is 0.0021 in IFFT and FFT that has a self-loop structure with the proposed method. As a result, the proposed architecture saves 3bits for the data to keep the same resolution compared with the conventional method.

It has been known that multiuser MIMO systems have better performance than single-user MIMO systems. However, multiuser MIMO systems should eliminate inter-user interferences which are generated by allocating data to multiple users simultaneously There is zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) as scheme used widely among algorithms to eliminate inter-user interferences. But, it needs many feedback bits since BS knows quite exact channel state information to use this scheme in real systems. Random beamforming (RBF) was proposed to cope with a defect of ZFBF[1]. RBF is a multiuser scheme to send data to users who have optimal performance with predetermined codebook, each receiver feeds back a index of codeword which has optimal performance within the codebook and its CQI information. [1] assumes that the BS knows perfect CQI information of each receiver but CQI information should be quantized in the real systems. Therefore, in this paper, efficient CQI quantization scheme for RBF system is proposed.
This paper presents an incremental delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for a single-electrode capacitive touch sensor. The second-order cascade of integrators with distributed feedback (CIFB) delta-sigma modulator with 1-bit quantization was fabricated by a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process. In order to achieve a wide input range in this incremental delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter, the shielding signal and the digitally controlled offset capacitors are used in front of a converter. This circuit operated at a supply voltage of 2.6 V to 3.7 V, and is suitable for single-electrode capacitive touch sensor for ${\pm}10-pF$ input range with sub-fF resolution.

In this paper, several simple approaches to Laplacian pyramid coding have been presented for obtaining reasonably acceptable image quality even at low bit rates of 0.3-0.5 bits/pel. For this purpose, the feedback construction of each Lapliacian plane, 3-dimensional prediction and three-level center-clipping quantization are introduced into the coding procedures. For greatly reducing the bit rate of the bottom layer, two new schemes of conditional transmission and edge sharpening without transmission are used. In experiments, our latter sheme has yielded the total bit rate of about 0.3 bits/pel while retaining reasonably acceptable image quality.
