In this paper, an optimum size for the inset cut feed of microstrip antennas has been determined by using the finite-difference time domain method. At first, the return losses of microstrip antennas having various shapes and types of the inset cut feeds have been computed numerically for a given frequency and a substrate. Then an optimum size of the inset cut feed has been determined by iterative computation procedure for a given condition. It was found that the optimum width of the inset cut feed is about 0.42 times of the width of 50Ω feed line and the optimum length of the inset cut feed is about 0.36 times of the length of the antenna patch. These results are proved by the experimental data obtained from the measurements of many fabricated antennas. It was also found that the optimum size of the inset cut feed is independent on the frequency, the height and the dielectric constant of the antennal substrate.

We performed three sets of feeding trials to establish the optimal feed size (Exp-I), stocking density (Exp-II), and dissolved oxygen level (DO) (Exp-III) for olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. In Exp-1, four replicate groups of fish ($53.6{\pm}0.9g$) were fed commercial diets with three particle sizes (small, medium, and large). In Exp-II, fish ($30.0{\pm}0.1g$) were reared at four stocking densities (1.8, 3.5, 5.3, and $7.1kg/m^3$). In Exp-III, fish ($187{\pm}1.48g$) were reared under two different DO levels (2-3 and 6-7 mg/L). In Exp-I, fish fed the large-particle diet gained significantly more weight and had a lower feed conversion ratio than fish fed the small- and medium-particle diets. In Exp-II, fish reared at 1.8 and $3.5kg/m^3$ gained slightly more weight and had lower feed conversion ratios than fish reared at 5.3 and $7.1kg/m^3$, although these differences were not significant. In Exp-III, negative effects were observed in the low DO groups. Therefore, under our experimental conditions, the optimal feed particle size, stocking density, and DO level for olive flounder were 9-9.4 mm, $3.5kg/m^3$, and 6-7 mg/L, respectively.

The burr worsens the accuracy of a workpiece and decreases a lot of pro- ductivity because it takes so much time and efforts to remove it. In this paper, the height, thickness and size of a drilling burr were derived from the drilling variables of drill diameter, chisel edge angle, web rate =($\Frac{2{\times}\;web\;thickness}{drill\;dia}$) and yielding stress of the workpiece as wel as feed, point angle and helix angle. The theoretical and experimental values of drilling thrust, torque and burr size of the testpiece were analyzed with the method of numerical analysis in a standard drilling condition. The order of choosing the drilling variables for the purpose of controlling the burr size was dealt in this paper with burr forming ratio. The results are as follows: (1) The drill diameter forms 42 percents feed 25 percents point angle 23 percents and web rate, chisel edge angle and gelix angle 5 percents of the partial differential slope of drilling thrust within the usual available ranges of drilling variables. (2) The drill diameter forms 55 percents feed 26 percents web rate 9 percents and chisel edge angle, point angle and helix angle 10 percents of the par- tial differential slope of drilling torque in the usual available ranges of drilling variables. (3) About 70 percents of the burr size can be controlled by feed, 29 percents by web rate in the case of a fixed diameter. It is recommended drilling10 variables to be chosen in the order of feed, web rate, drill diameter, point angle, chisel edge angle and helix angle so as to control the burr size effectively.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of extrusion pressure and particle size of feed ingredients on the growth performance and plasma hormone activity in juvenile olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. Experimental diets were prepared with extrusion pressure manipulated by screw speed [low pressure (LP), 885 rpm/min; high pressure (HP), 708 rpm/min] and different dietary particle sizes [specific surface area: small (SS), $169.9m^2/kg$; large (LS), $67.4m^2/kg$] in a two-level factorial design. Four experimental diets (LP+SS, LP+LS, HP+SS, and HP+LS) were randomly assigned to 12 tanks (3 replicates) stocked with 20 fish (initial weight, 57 g) per tank. After a 4-week feeding trial, the observable trends of the main effects of extrusion pressure and particle size on growth performance showed that LP and SS enhanced fish weight gain. The plasma insulin-like growth factor-I level was significantly higher in fish fed the LP+SS diet than in fish fed the HP+SS diet. These results indicate that manipulation of the physical qualities of feed through adjustment of extrusion pressure and feed ingredient particle size may influence the growth performance of juvenile olive flounder, which should be considered in feed manufacture.

In an attempt to compare the mash and pelleting costs, individual production costs of eash mash and pelleting are analyzed. For the analysis, Park's model (1982) are used. According to the results of the analysis, the following conclusions are made. 1. Total energy cost for pelleting is 4 times higher than that for mash feed production. 2. Labor cost for pelleting is 20 % higher than that of mash feed. 3. Capital requirements for pelleting feed mill is approximately 20 % higher than that for mash feed mill when feed mill size is 200 ton/day. 4. Total production cost for pelleting is from 30 % to 50 % higher than that for mash feed when mill size ranges from 100 ton/day to 400 ton/day.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of extruded pellet (EP) size on the growth performance of olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus at the juvenile (Exp-I; $62.2{\pm}0.05$), growing (Exp-II; $150{\pm}1$) and sub-adult (Exp-III; $299{\pm}1$) stages. In Exp-I (3, 4, 5 and 6 mm diets), Exp-II (4, 9, 11 and 13 mm diets) and Exp-III (9, 11, 13 and 16 mm diets), triplicate groups of fish were fed four EP diets of different pellet sizes. In Exp-I, larger pellet sizes were significantly better than the smallest pellet size (3 mm). In Exp-II, significantly improved feed and protein efficiency were observed with increasing pellet size. The feed conversion ratios of the fish fed the 4 and 9 mm diets were significantly lower than those of fish fed 11 and 13 mm diets. The dietary digestibility of protein and energy was higher in smaller EPs than in larger sizes. In Exp-III, the growth performance of fish was not affected by the pellet size. However, feed intake was significantly affected, increasing with increasing pellet size. Therefore, the optimum pellet sizes for olive flounder under the conditions in this study were 5 mm for 60-150 g fish and 9 mm for 150-500 g fish.
The production process of a fine size fraction of Korean kaolin by ball milling is studied in this paper by analyzing the size distribution the size distribution of products with the Rosin-rammle formular and the rate process of cumulative size fractions with Alyavdin-Chujyo's formular. The size distribution is found to be divided in three regions a coarser part influenced by feed size an intermediate part where the size distribution shows a clear straight line relationship on Rosin-Rammler chart and the finest part with the ultimate limit of fineness by ball milling. Alyavdin-Chujyo's relationship is found to be valid over a very wide range of milling conditions. For different feed sizes the Alyavdin-Chujyo's relationship gives a group of straight lines with a common intersection point which can be defined as the limiting point of the persistent component region.

Using backup plate is one of the most commonly used methods to decrease drilling-induced delamination of composite laminates. It has been shown that, the size of the delamination zone is related to the vertical element of cutting force named as thrust force. Also, direct control of thrust force is not a routine task, because, it depends on both drilling parameters and mechanical properties of the composite laminate. In this research, critical feed rate and thrust force are predicted analytically for delamination initiation in drilling of composite laminates with backup plate. Three common theories, linear elastic fracture mechanics, classical laminated plate and mechanics of oblique cutting, are used to model the problem. Based on the proposed analytical model, the effect of drill radius, chisel edge size, and backup plate size on the critical thrust force and feed rate are investigated. Experimental tests were carried out to prove analytical model.

Anionic water dispersible copolyesters were synthesized and characterized. Viscosity of the copolyester is lower than that of routine acrylic water dispersible polymers. Adhesive force of the copolyester was much higher than that of water dispersible acrylic polymers. Particle size of the copolyesters in water decreased with the increase of DMS or DEG feed ratio. With the conclusive study of the data of particle size and potential, it was found that the dispersion stability of copolyesters in water increased with the increase of DMS or DEG feed ratio. Judging from the results of potential and particle size of copolyesters, there seems to be competition between two dispersion stability factors, i.e. electrostatic stabilization and steric stabilization and as a result, morphological change of particles occurrs. Tg decreased with the increase of DEG molar feed ratio or oil contents.
