  • This paper presents a new algorithm of three-level optimal control for non-linear large scale systems using fast walsh transform. Since the solution is obtained through the information exchange of coefficient vectors induced walsh transform of all levels, this algorithm is quick and convenient. The validity of the proposed method is checked in the simulation.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for hierarchical optimal control of nonlinear systems. The proposed method is simple because the solutions are obtained by only exchanging informations of coefficient vector based on interaction prediction principle and FWT(fast Walsh transform) in upper and lower level. Since we solve two point boundary problem with Picard's iterative method and the backward integral operational matrix of Walsh function to obtain the optimal vector of each independent subsystem, the algorithm is simple and its operation is fast without inverse matrix and kronecker product operation. In simulation, the proposed algorithm's usefulness is proved by comparison with the global optimal control methods.

  • Generally when the orthogonal functions are used in system analysis, the time consuming processes of high order matrix inversion for finding the Kronecker products and the truncation errors are occurred. In this paper, a method for the system analysis of bilinear systems via fast walsh transform is devised. This method requires neither the inversion of large matrices nor the cumbersome procedures for finding Kronecker products. Thus, both the computing time and required memory size can be significantly reduced.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of parameter estimation, i.e., definding the internal structure of a linear distribution parameter system from its input/output data. First, a linear partial differential equation describing the system is double-integrated with respect to two variables and then transformed into an integral equation. Next the Walsh Operation Matrix for Walsh function and their integration are introduced to transform the integral equation into algebraic simultaneous equations. Finally, we develop an algorithm to estimate the parameters of the linear distributed parameter system from the simple linear algebraic simultaneous equations. It is also shown that our algorithm could be effective in real time data processing since it uses the Fast Walsh Transform.

  • This paper presents the new adaptive optimal scheme for the nonlinear systems, which is based on the Picard's iterative approximation and Fast Walsh transform. It is well known that the Walsh function approach method is very difficult to apply for the analysis and optimal control of nonlinear systems. However, these problems can be easily solved by the improvement of the previous adaptive optimal scheme. The proposed method is easily applicable to the analysis and optimal control of nonlinear systems.

  • Using the New Fast Walsh Transform algorithm, we present a new algorithm which reduces the computational amount, and it can consequently calculate the real and imaginary components for current and voltage signals of power system in sampling intervals. The calculation amount is reduced to 2X(m-1) at m samples to measure full harmonics using developed algorithm. When in single harmonic measuring, it needs only 2(log2N-1)+1 additions and subtractions. We developed hardware device for testing, and tested the developed algorithm by measuring real and imaginary components.

  • In this work, we present an iris pattern recognition method as a biometrically based technology for personal identification and authentication For this, we propose a new algorithm for extracting an unique feature from the iris of the human eye and representing this feature using the discrete Walsh-Hadamard transform. From the computational simplicity of the adopted transform, this can perform the personal identification and authentication in a fast manner to accomplish the information security.

  • Zhang et al. proposed a improved fast correlation attack on stream ciphers at SAC'08[8]. This attack is based on the fast correlation attack proposed at Crypto'00 and combined with FWT(fast Walsh transform). Given various attack environments, they presented complexities and success probabilities of the proposed attack algorithm. However, we found that our simulation results of the proposed attack algorithm are different from them presented in [8]. In this paper, we correct results of the proposed attack algorithm by analyzing it theoretically. And we propose a threshold of valid bias.

  • The Multi-Code CDMA systems that are proposed as an effective transmission methodology in the IMT-2000 systems allow higher rate services under the IS-95 CDMA infrastructure. The Multi-Code CDMA systems convert the higher rate data into the lower rate by serial to parallel operation and spread the converted data streams by the multiple walsh codes, and its mobile receiver needs multiple walsh generators and data correlators to demodulate simultaneously multiple walsh code channels. Therefore, the number of data correlators is increased as the number of traffic channels increases. In this paper, we proposed the new structure of the data correlators using walsh overlay coding, the shared accumulator, and FWHT(Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform) algorithm for reducing the bottle-neck effect resulting the increase of the number of data correlators.

  • This paper presents the Walsh-Fourier conversion algorithm and Signal Analysis Technique. The Fourier coefficients are determined as the combinations of the Walsh coefficients in terms of the new Walsh-Fourier conversion algorithm. This paper checks the analysis of the Walsh-Fourier spectra and the approximate synthesis of the waveform via one example.
