  • is a MOBA game developed by 2015 at the Tentent's Tianmei Studios. The operation of the game was very successful, ranking first in the global mobile gaming revenue list in May 2017. However, most of the discussion about this game are the moral critique of game addiction. In fact, a game's success is closely related to the Marketing strategy beyond the contents of the game. This research using a neutral point of view to see the communication modes of during the early, development and outbreak period, analyze the integrated marketing communication strategy (IMC) through the method of case study, and concluded that the key to the success of IMC is the flexible use of various communication methods to achieve a three-dimensional offensive according to the famous Synergy Theory. It is also hoped that this article will be helpful for practitioners to realize the importance of Publicity and promotion of other game products.

A Questionnaire Study on the Differences in Preference of Eyewear between Korean and Chinese Consumers (한국과 중국 소비자의 안경의 선호도 차이에 대한 설문 조사 연구)

  • Purpose : This survey aimed to investigate the differences in shape and color preference of eyeglasses and sunglasses between Korean and Chinese consumers. Methods : The questionnaire was conducted on 150 Chinese students studying in Korea and 150 Korean college students. Any student who majors in optometry was excluded. Chinese students were provided with questionnaires that were translated into Simplified Chinese characters, and it was translated by a native Chinese student studying in a master course of a Korean university, on the basis of Korean questionnaire. Results : The Chinese consumer group preferred the global famous brand in sunglasses rather than the glasses, and it was found that they preferred the Korean glasses products relatively. Also, they presented higher preference to half- or rimless frame, gold color, two-tone colored lens, comparing to the Korean consumer group. Conclusion : The results of this study are expected to contribute to Chinese marketing strategy of Korean manufacturing optical shop companies, and to sales strategy of Korean optical shops with Chinese tourists.

  • Gaesung was the Mecca of Korean ginseng. Factors that Gaesung has been a leading brand of Korean ginseng were multiplicative. Those were natural conditions and huge commercial capital, red ginseng factory, creative business systems and etc. We can quote BongSang Son, SungHak Kong and JeongHo Kim as a famous Gaesung' ginseng merchants. They, as leaders modern ginseng industry had supplied the method of cultivation, prevention of phyto-diseases, excellent ginseng seed, and prepayment system of farming capital. The Gaesung merchants also adopted modern marketing techniques : commercial advertisement, made-order sales, changing package of the ginseng products. The book 'The Dictionary of Korean Companies and Stores' which was published in 1927 introduces BongSang Son as a great businessman in Gaesung. He was not only merchants but also educator and social worker. He practiced the spirit of entrepreneurship. BongSang Son's role of pioneer contributed to the development of Korean ginseng and Gaesung. Due to such efforts of Gaesung merchants, Korean ginseng industry were took a great step forward. This article considered the development of Korean ginseng industry through the life and achievement of the ginseng magnate BongSang Son who was a representative one of Gaesung merchants.

A Study on the Present E-mail Marketing Status and Its Effective Utilization Methods on Local Internet Shopping Malls (국내(國內) 인터넷 패션 쇼핑몰의 E-mail 마케팅 현황(現況)과 효율적(效率的) 활용방안(活用方案)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study looked into the present status of e-mail marketing, which is conducted in local Internet fashion shopping malls and is being used as a one-to-one marketing method in the e-CRM concept so as to establish an effective e-mail marketing policy by grasping problems based on the current status and by presenting solutions to the problems. This study analyzed the e-mail letters received during a certain period of time by 30 professional Internet fashion shopping malls of with famous goods, brands and non-brands. Four individuals subscribed to shopping mall through the procedure for membership applying for e-mail services. The analysis showed that there were no shopping malls that were doing a differentiated e-mail marketing among Internet shopping malls. As for time factor, they were sending e-mail letters irregularly regardless of a certain cycle. And as for visual factor, they didnt have any standard for the content of the mail. As for content factor, the contents of their mail were not differentiated and all the same. The comparison of fashion malls showed that the brand shopping malls were the most active in e-mail marketing. On the basis of the problems, the direction for the effective e-mail marketing of Internet shopping malls are presented as follows: First, individualized contents fitting for customers should be developed, and differentiated mailing services should be provided thereby. Second, each shopping mall should make periodic tests of mailing to find out the optimal time and day to provide e-mail services to the customers at the designated time. Third, e-mail should be differentiated fitting for the website according to a certain on a certain standard for visual effects and the identity of shopping mall should be established. Firth, in the contents of e-mail, the image and message elements should be properly harmonized and creative policies should be made with interactive or recreational elements. A Study of Sports Stars' Guarantee Advertising and Consumers' Intention to Purchase Sporting Goods (스포츠스타의 보증광고 속성과 소비자의 스포츠용품 구매의도 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of guarantee advertising by three sports stars (Jisung Park, Doori Cha, and Tahwan Park) working for famous sport brand names such as Nike, Adidas, and Fila on the intention of purchasing. In the study, total 240 people of all ages but those who are under twenty are chosen to conduct a survey. The results of investigation is the followings. First, with the respect of gender and age there are statistically meaningful differences between sports stars' guarantee advertising and consumers' intention of purchasing sporting goods that result from demographical elements. Second, how the guarantee advertising of sports stars have an influence on consumer's intention of purchasing products results in the three sports stars in a different way. As for Jisung Park, the result represents that his athlete characteristics such as expertise, creditability and similarity have to do with consumers' intention of purchasing goods most. Third, as for Doori Cha, the result identifies that his creditability and similarity plays an important role for the consumers' intention of purchasing. Forth, as for Tahwan Park, similarity has some meaningful influence on the sport consumer's intention of purchasing. The fact that similarity plays an important role in common for the consumers' intention of purchasing is noteworthy to the researchers relating to the advertisement area.

Especially, the situation of franchisee is that franchisors and franchisees in the limited relationship and just plan the growth, so the success possibly can be very high. The diffusion of franchisee system and the study about the franchisee are developed on the diverse view points. But still now, the study is just formed from the enterprise's success and the franchisors view point, the study about the franchisees dimension is very small. But it is also very important to exam the decision factors of franchisees success because the franchisors result of franchisee system will come out with franchisee performance totally. In this paper, it will actually proof if the decisive factors that exert influence on the franchisee performance in the franchisee dimension, exert influence on the franchisee performance in substance; and exam what kind of relationship the franchisee performance have with the franchisors and recontract intention. According to this, we can draw out the rest decision factors of improving the franchisee performance, and also show the strategic implication of franchisee efficient marketing.

  • The purpose of this study is to comprehend the characteristics of collaborative examples in mobile games by analyzing the types of cultural fusion and their utilization in mobile game industry. The major examples of collaborations include the collaborative works utilizing artists, characters, and products by examining the practical collaborations within international mobile games between the years 2010 to 2014. The most typical kind of collaboration among them is the utilization of characters, composed of using characters between games, applying animation characters, borrowing cartoon or web-cartoon characters, hiring famous celebrities, or even including great men in their games. Therefore, the characteristics of mobile game's collaborative types are confirmed as below by studying the above examples. (1) There are many examples of collaborating between different types of businesses defined as 'conversion type fusion.' (2) The character utilization is the most sought after type of collaboration. (3) The applied content's target audience seems to share the same age groups of the game's audience. (4) The game industry always adopts the components that could be recognized instantly. (5) The status and influence of mobile game have risen greatly. Consequently, this research has important role in establishing the strategic collaborative plans for mobile game business by expanding the prospects of game related researches and industrial and academic theories.

Development of Native Local Foods in Chungcheongnam-do by Storytelling (스토리텔링을 통한 충남향토음식 개발 연구 - '무령왕 수라상'과 '몽유도원 밥상'을 중심으로 -)

  • The objective of this study was to familiarize people with the native local food of Chungnam Province by developing its regional food as a culture resource. Native Local Food Search and luxury itemization based on regionally-characterized stories enhances self-perception of the national culture, promotes appropriate local images to the public, and contributes to the local economy by increasing regional tourism. Therefore, this study researched local stories of cultural significance, that is, those connected to the history and originality of Chungnam Province, and developed contents related to Chungnam native local food. Features of the native local food were introduced by a story telling method in order to appeal to the five senses. The story was composed for easy understanding of the value of food, and the brand image of Chungnam was developed based on representative historical stories of the region. In this study, the following were developed as representative images of Chungnam: 'Royal meal table of King Moo-ryung' in Kongju was presented by recomposing the story of King Moo-ryung, a famouns king of the Baekje era; 'Mong-yoo-do-won's rice meal table' was introduced via Mongyoo-do-won's painting by Kyeon An, a famous painter of the Chosun era who was born in Seosan. The 'Royal meal table of King Moo-ryung' was set with food made from local farm products, demonstrating the flavor and elegance of the Baekje era. 'Mong-yoo-do-won's rice meal table' resembled Kyeon An's Mong-yoo-do-won-do, which has a background featuring early spring. The rice table was designed to remind people of a flamboyant painting like a scattered peach blossom leaf in the early spring. To verify the health effectiveness of each rice table, the function of each ingredient was investigated through 'Sik-ryo-chan-yo:a dietary treatment', which was published by Soon-Ui Cheon during the Chosan era. According to the results, most of ingredients are certainly beneficial to health, as was recognized in the early Choson era.

An Exploratory Study on the Components of Visual Merchandising of Internet Shopping Mall (인터넷쇼핑몰의 VMD 구성요인에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study is to empirically examine the primary dimensions of visual merchandising (VMD) of internet shopping mall, namely store design, merchandise, and merchandising cues, to be a attractive virtual store to the shoppers. The authors reviewed the literature related to the major components of VMD from the perspective of the AIDA model, which has been mainly applied to the offline store settings. The major purposes of the study are as follows; first, tries to derive the variables related with the components of visual merchandising through reviewing the existing literatures, establish the hypotheses, and test it empirically. Second, examines the relationships between the components of VMD and the attitude toward the VMD, however, putting more emphasis on finding out the component structure of the VMD. VMD needs to be examined with the perspective that an online shopping mall is a virtual self-service or clerkless store, which could reduce the number of employees, help the shoppers search, evaluate and purchase for themselves, and to be explored in terms of the in-store persuasion processes of customers. This study reviewed the literatures related to store design, merchandise, and merchandising cues which might be relevant to the store, product, and promotion respectively. VMD is a total communication tool, and AIDA model could explain the in-store consumer behavior of online shopping. Store design has to do with triggering a consumer attention to the online mall, merchandise with a product related interest, and merchandising cues with promotions such as recommendation and links that induce the desire to pruchase. These three steps might be seen as the processes for purchase actions. The theoretical rationale for the relationship between VMD and AIDA could be found in Tyagi(2005) that the three steps of consumer-oriented merchandising are a store, a product assortment, and placement, in Omar(1999) that three types of interior display are a architectural design display, commodity display, and point-of-sales(POS) display, and in Davies and Ward(2005) that the retail store interior image is related to an atmosphere, merchandise, and in-store promotion. Lee et al(2000) suggested as the web merchandising components a merchandising cues, a shopping metaphor which is an assistant tool for search, a store design, a layout(web design), and a product assortment. The store design which includes differentiation, simplicity and navigation is supposed to be related to the attention to the virtual store. Second, the merchandise dimensions comprising product assortments, visual information and product reputation have to do with the interest in the product offerings. Finally, the merchandising cues that refer to merchandiser(MD)'s recommendation of products and providing the hyperlinks to relevant goods for the shopper is concerned with attempt to induce the desire to purchase. The questionnaire survey was carried out to collect the data about the consumers who would shop at internet shopping malls frequently. To select the subject malls, the mall ranking data announced by a mall rating agency was used to differentiate the most popular and least popular five mall each. The subjects was instructed to answer the questions after navigating the designated mall for five minutes. The 300 questionnaire was distributed to the consumers, 166 samples were used in the final analysis. The empirical testing focused on identifying and confirming the dimensionality of VMD and its subdimensions using a structural equation modeling method. The confirmatory factor analysis for the endogeneous and exogeneous variables was carried out in four parts. The second-order factor analysis was done for a store design, a merchandise, and a merchandising cues, and first-order confirmatory factor analysis for the attitude toward the VMD. The model test results shows that the chi-square value of structural equation is 144.39(d.f 49), significant at 0.01 level which means the proposed model was rejected. But, judging from the ratio of chi-square value vs. degree of freedom, the ratio was 2.94 which smaller than an acceptable level of 3.0, RMR is 0.087 which is higher than a generally acceptable level of 0.08. GFI and AGFI is turned out to be 0.90 and 0.84 respectively. Both NFI and NNFI is 0.94, and CFI 0.95. The major test results are as follows; first, the second-order factor analysis and structural equational modeling reveals that the differentiation, simplicity and ease of identifying current status of the transaction are confirmed to be subdimensions of store design and to be a significant predictors of the dependent variable. This result implies that when designing an online shopping mall, it is necessary to differentiate visually from other malls to improve the effectiveness of the communications of store design. That is, the differentiated store design raise the contrast stimulus to sensory organs to promote the memory of the store and to have a favorable attitude toward the VMD of a store. The results that navigation which means the easiness of identifying current status of shopping affects the attitude to VMD could be interpreted that the navigating processes via the hyperlinks which is characteristics of an internet shopping is a complex and cognitive process and shoppers are likely to lack the sense of overall structure of the store. Consequently, shoppers are likely to be alost amid shopping not knowing where to go. The orientation tool enhance the accessibility of information to raise the perceptive power about the store environment.(Titus & Everett 1995) Second, the primary dimension of merchandise and its subdimensions was confirmed to be unidimensional respectively, have a construct validity, and nomological validity which the VMD dimensions supposed to have a positive correlation with the dependent variable. The subdimensions of product assortment, brand fame and information provision proved to have a positive effect on the attitude toward the VMD. It could be interpreted that the more plentiful the product and brand assortment of the mall is, the more likely the shoppers to favor it. Brand fame and information provision as well affect the VMD attitude, which means that the more famous the brand, the more likely the shoppers would trust and feel familiar with the mall, and the plentifully and visually presented information could have the shopper have a favorable attitude toward the store VMD. Third, it turned out to be that merchandising cue of product recommendation and hyperlinks affect the VMD attitude. This could be interpreted that recommended products could reduce the uncertainty related with the purchase decision, and the hyperlinks to relevant products would help the shopper save the cognitive effort exerted into the information search and gathering, which could lead to a favorable attitude to the VMD. This study tried to sheds some new light on the VMD of online store by reviewing the variables mentioned to be relevant with offline VMD in the existing literatures, and tried to link the VMD components from the perspective of AIDA model. The effect size of the VMD dimensions on the attitude was in the order of the merchandise, the store design and the merchandising cues.It is said that an internet has an unlimited place for display, however, the virtual store is not unlimited since the consumer has a limited amount of cognitive ability to process the external information and internal memory. Particularly, the shoppers are likely to face some difficulties in decision making on account of too many alternative and information overloads. Therefore, the internet shopping mall manager should take into consideration the cost of information search on the part of the consumer, to establish the optimal product placements and search routes. An efficient store composition would be possible by reducing the psychological burdens and cognitive efforts exerted to information search and alternatives evaluation. The store image is in most part determined by the product category and its brand it deals in. The results of this study support this proposition that the merchandise is most important to the VMD attitude than other components, the manager is required to take a strategic approach to VMD. The internet users are getting more accustomed and more knowledgeable about the internet media and more likely to accept the internet as a shopping channel as the period of time during which they use the internet to shop become longer. The web merchandiser should be aware that the product introduction using a moving pictures and a bulletin board become more important in order to present the interactive product information visually and communicate with customers more actively, therefore leading to making the quantity and quality of product information more rich.

Survey for contamination and study for reduction of ochratoxin A and aflatoxin in red pepper (고추 중 오크라톡신 A와 아플라톡신의 오염도 조사 및 저감화방안 연구)

  • Aflatoxin (AF) and Ochratoxin A (OTA) are carcinogenic and possible carcinogenic mycotoxins respectively produced by Aspergillus spp or Penicillium spp. The study for contamination survey and proposal for reduction of mycotoxin in red pepper were carried out. 192 samples were collected at such various stages and markets as pre/post-harvest stages, internet shopping mall /super-market and small stakeholder mill/geographically indicated company. As only 2 samples were positive for aflatoxin, so contamination rate was 1.04%. In the meanwhile, contamination rate for ochratoxin A was 21.88% and a various amount of OTA was detected in 42 positive samples. 6 samples were found to be contaminated at higher level than $5\;{\mu}gkg^{-1}$ for ochratoxin A, which was established recently as a maximum permissible limit in korea. There was no difference in degree of contamination with regard to cultivation type because any mycotoxin was not found at all in both organically and conventionally grown red pepper. But, there was statistically significant difference in the process of manufacturing. Finished products were OTA-contaminated at a level of $2.32\;{\pm}\;6.54\;{\mu}gkg^{-1}$(mean ${\pm}$ SD), even though OTA was not detected in deep frozen red peppers right after long term storage. And contamination for OTA was a level of $0.33\;{\pm}\;0.91\;{\mu}gkg^{-1}$(mean ${\pm}$ SD) in red paprika powder after uv sterilization, while the contamination for OTA was $2.78\;{\pm}\;4.49\;{\mu}kg^{-1}$(mean ${\pm}$ SD) in non-uv sterilized powder. In addition, our investigation shows that higher OTA contamination occurred in some of famous brand products sold in super-market and domestic products than products collected through on-line shopping or from small stakeholder mills and imported products respectively, however, difference was not statistically significant.
