Data were analyzed with t-test, ANOVA with $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 23.0. Results: The average score of the quality of life was $85.54{\pm}17.74$ (range: 26~130) among family caregivers of patients with Parkinson disease. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that fifty percent of the quality of life was explained by family support, family burden, and patient-caregiver relationship satisfaction. Conclusion: Family support, family burden, and patient-caregiver relationship satisfaction were identified as factors affecting the quality of life of family caregivers of patients with Parkinson disease. Methods: 90 hospitalized patients who received CAD medical treatment were randomly selected. The food intake frequency and family support instrument were utilized. Collected data was analyzed by SPSS/WIN 14.0: t-test, $x^2$-test and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: The mean score of food intake frequency was 5.65(total mean score 97.50) which was relatively healthy food intake based on the CAD treatment guidelines. Undesirable food intake items were fruit, fish, milk etc. The mean score of family support was 2.44(range: 1 - 4). Food intake showed a significant(p < .001) positive correlation with family support. There was significant difference(p < .05) on family support according to exercise. There was significant difference(p < .05) on LDL level, one of the CAD risk factors, between first admission patients and readmission patients. Conclusion: These findings suggest that nursing intervention education programs should be developed to appropriately care for CHD patients for needed changes.

  • This descriptive-correlational study was undertaken in order to examine if there were relationships between family support, compliance and life satisfaction in chronic arthritis patients. The sampling method was a non-probability, purposive sampling technique. The participants of this study were 92 volunteer adults. 1) who have been diagnosed as having chronic arthritis and 2) who were at the medical out patient clinic of one university hospital in Seoul between April 27th to May 12th 1987. The instruments used for this study were the Family Support Scale developed by Kang Hyun Sook, a Compilance Scale developed by the researcher and the Life-Satisfaction Index-Z developed by Wood et.al. Analysis of data was done using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of study were as follows; Hypothesis I; “The higher the family support, the higher the compliance” was accepted. (r=.2604, p<.01) Hypothesis II; “The higher the compliance, the higher the life satisfaction,” was rejected. (r=.1663, p>0.5) Hypothesis III; “The higher the family support, the higher the life satisfaction” was accepted. (r=.3914, p<.01) In addition, by using Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis it was determined that the main influencing factors on the life satisfaction were family support, the number of inflammatory joints, compliance and pain level. These 4 main variables made it possible to explain 30.8% of the variance in life satisfaction. In conclusion, this study revealed that family support is an important factor that can improve compliance and life satisfaction in chronic arthritis patients.
