Recently, increasing needs of urban families in residential housing management services were apparent in many studies, but the way that they charge for the management services was not dear. Research method was social survey with questionnaire from 484 residents and 84 housing managers of multi-family housing in Seoul and new town area. Research results showed that residents recognized the management services should be free of charge or imposed actual expenses, but managers recognized the management services as charged services. To provide efficient housing management services for residents in multi-family housing, human resources should be inputted. Therefore, this study suggested that the participation of residents in housing management service is recommendable as a way of lessen the economic burden of management service charge, but also to have an opportunity to interest in their community activities.

  • Farm succession is one of the most important events that substantially influence the viability of a farm business not only for a family farm operation, but also for a farm industry as a whole. This study aims to analyze the factors which affect the probability of existence of a successor, using the nationwide survey data. The probability of having a successor increases with the age of operator, the number of sons, the area under cultivation, organic farming, farm expansion plan, main crop and operator's attitude towards farm succession. Also this study investigates the succession plans of family farms having a successor and land disposal plans of family farms without a successor. 40% of farms having a successor have only vague succession plans and 34.7% of farms without a successor have a plan to apportion their land among their children. Based on these results, this study suggests the necessity of planning for farm succession and successors' agricultural training. In addition, measures for preventing from land fragmentation are needed for realization of effective usage of agricultural land.

  • This study empirically examined the effects of filial piety on motivations for parenthood among Vietnamese and Korean college students, who represent a generation of young adults and prospective parents in both countries. The Vietnamese data were collected from 325 college students enrolled in three universities located in Hanoi and Korean data were collected from 216 students from a single large university in Seoul. Student respondents were asked to complete the self-administered questionnaire including 'Filial Piety Scale' and 'Motivations for Parenthood Scale.' The results revealed that the Vietnamese students reported a significantly higher level of 'general filial piety' than their Korean counterparts. Vietnamese and Korean participants showed no significant difference in total motivations for parenthood. Among the five sub-factors of motivations for parenthood, however, the Vietnamese students were more likely to place a value on the expansion of self-motivation while their Korean counterparts considered the motivation to strengthen biological family ties to be more salient. Finally, after controlling for sociodemographic characteristics, hierarchical regression analysis revealed that the more filial Vietnamese and Korean college students were towards their parents, the more child-related motives they held in general. The results are discussed in relation to each country's degree of modernization and to recommend prospective family planning and population policies in Vietnam based on the experiences of Korea industrialization.

  • Data so as to meet key values are preserved at Column-Family Stores such as Cassandra, HBase, Hypertable, and Amazon Simple DB in the Big Data environment. In this paper, with referring to Cassandra, we define column-family data stores and its structure. And then, we check out their characteristics such as consistency, transaction, availability, retrieval function (basic queries and advance queries) with CQL (Cassandra Query Language), and expandability. Also, we appropriate or inappropriate subjects for application of column-family stores.
