In addition to in 2020 these people will be increase so that 85 percent of the Koreans compose elderly living alone who is over 65. This study aims at developing a sharing-typed elderly people-centered rental model which is accessible in the community integration dimension as an alternative and finding out theirconscious, their need about residence. and we need to check about their major requirements on improvement step by step. so that we suggest the desirable way on the existing multi house. The model provides benefits in the social, economical and pragmatic dimensions as the families living alone get together and living with others, Particularly, as a residence model which reduces a psychological loneliness and at the same time enables the elderly to continue to live a life in the community while they live together with other people, this model could be a strategy which supports the "Aging in Place." This study is in progress via small group workshop which debate gradually about special subject with similar group member. • The purpose of this paper is to estimate the external diseconomies of an unwelcomed facility on the nearby houses. The facility and the area studied are Dangin-Ri power plant in Mapo-Gu, Seoul and the residential district surrounding it respectively. The nearby housing prices have been changed according to the time and circumstances of the public announcements about the reconstruction or removal plans of the plant. These price changes are regarded as the capitalized values of the external diseconomies due to the plant. This study is based on the hedonic price theory in order to estimate the diseconomies in monetary value. The tools for the estimation are four models of multiple regression with the transaction price as the dependant variable and various housing characteristics including the external effects of the plant as the independent variables. The sample analyzed is 833 house transactions for the past 5 years in the research area. The facts found are as follows; First, the most suitable functional form for the estimation is confirmed to be the linear model. Second, there are significant differences in influence on the housing values among the independent variables, that is, locational characteristics, physical features, and environmental changes with time. Third, the external diseconomy is estimated as \80,137,807 in case that the plant would be reconstructed in the underground of the present site, whereon a substitutional public park would be constructed and as \59,142,248 in case that the plant would move away.

  • In residential spaces, sanitary zones are where the most basic needs of human beings are met and are used by all members of the family. A high level of privacy is therefore required in their use. This research studies the current state of sanitary zones in collective houses and in detached houses from a comparative perspective first, and then analyses the satisfaction and dissatisfaction requirement levels of dwellers of each house in comparison so as to provide data to formulate a new design for sanitary zones that is suitable for each dwelling house. The results of this research are as follows. (1) The questionnaire respondents were mostly in their 30s and 40s (99.1% in total), and lived in a nuclear family system (87.7%). (2) The number of sanitary zones was found to be more than 2 in 62% of collective houses and in 60.7% of detached houses, which leads us to conclude that non-dwelling spaces are increasing in both types of houses. (3) Of the housing facilities,13% of collective houses and 9% of detached houses were equipped with a bidet. Both percentages are very low but it needs to be noted that the percentage is relatively high in collective houses. In safety facilities, the ratio of houses furnished with safety handlers for the aged was very low in both types of houses. (4) The residents of collective houses showed high levels of dissatisfaction with regard to the problems of storage space and steam production, while residents of detached houses expressed high levels of dissatisfaction with regard to the heating system, colors of finishing materials, size, dampness, steam production, and storage space.

  • This study aimed to provide an efficient time management scheme for farmers by analysing how they experience time constraints in spending their time and understand time management. Firstly, farmers found that they didn't have enough time for farm keeping as a result of house work obligations. It was caused by excessive time for agricultural work. Thus, 93.7% of respondents recognized that ‘they were pressed for time' because there is relatively less time to spend for socio-cultural and physiological matters. In addition, 83.0% responded that they felt the pressure of something. Respondents who were in forties reduced their sleeping hours due to lack of time. The majority of people who were in the farmhouse doing controlled horticulture cannot enjoy their own time for leisure owing to a lack of time. Secondly, respondents under thirty-nine years of age were solving the problems of time constraints as prioritizing matters, planning handling time and utilizing household instruments. On the other hand, respondents who were in forties found the solution by reflecting on their conduct toward a time consumption plan, self-evaluation and received help from their family and/or neighbors. A group of respondents who had already graduated from college or higher education often reflected on their conduct and self-evaluated. Respondants who participatied in farmhouse controlled horticulture, generally took turns in managing their house work. For reducing farmers' time constraints and managing their time efficiently, they should standardize matters done repeatedly and also manage time by dividing work among family members. Furthermore, if a long-term time scheme such as more than a month is established and practiced, time constraints may be somewhat solved.

  • Objectives: The dengue prevention program known as "One House One Mosquito Larva Inspector" involves health volunteers who play a crucial role in the surveillance of mosquito larvae and reporting their findings to local public health officials. This study aimed to identify factors related to the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of dengue prevention behavior among these health volunteers. Methods: A study was conducted in 5 sub-districts in Malang, an urban area in Indonesia. We employed a cross-sectional design and utilized a semi-structured questionnaire to assess the KAP of 400 health volunteers. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews. Results: Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that individuals with a more positive attitude (odds ratio [OR], 1.69; p<0.05) and those with family sizes greater than five persons (OR, 1.90; p<0.05) were more likely to engage in effective dengue prevention practices. Additionally, possesing good knowledge was significantly assocated with more positive attitude (OR, 2.24; p<0.001). Furthermore, 40% reduction in positive attitude was observed in those over 45 years (OR, 0.60; p<0.05). The best practices most frequently reported by the majority of respondents included always reporting their surveillance activities (75.8%) and cleaning the water container in the bathroom at least once a week (65.2%). However, only 52.2% of respondents regularly checked for mosquito larvae in their neighborhood. Conclusions: Sustainable promotion and training for the "One House One Mosquito Larva Inspector" initiative are necessary, particularly among young health volunteers, to improve dengue prevention behaviors both within their own homes and in the surrounding environment.

Through the modified tool, it is possible to examine the stress of Korean elders and to contribute to the welfare of them. The subjects were 350 elders over 65 years old who live in Seoul, Kwang-Ju, Yang-Ju Gun Kyung-ki Do, Ui-Jong Bu, and Young-Am Kun, Jeun-Ra Nam Do. the data of 331 elders (94%) were analyzed. Data were collected between January and March in 1996 and analyzed using the SPSS Win 8.0. The result are as follows: 1. Items with low correlation with the total items were removed. So 27 items were removed and 37 items remained. This 37 items were death in the family and/or close friends, family member's behavior not meeting expectations, marriage of daughter, marriage of son, friction with daughter- in-law, argument among children, children refuse to live with parent, children leaving home, sex injury or accident, in frequest visits from children and grandchildren, providing care for your daughter or daughter-in-law post-partum, decrease in decision making and authority in home, Lunar new year and the harvest featival, house sitting, working in the house, performing a sacrificial rite, missed birthday, not living with the eldest son, decreased eyesight, decreased strength, decreased memory, sleep pattern changes, thoughts about death, loneliness, decreased hearing, change of dental condition, change in your diet or eating style, difficulty in self care, moving because of disease or aging, argument with friend or neighbour, travel, dealing with the procedure of heritage, loss of money or property, not enough pocket money, hearing on elderly neglect in television or radio, hope of going home and ignorant from others. 2. Overlapped items were discussed by colleagues and were modified. 'marriage of daughter' and 'marriage of son' were modified in 'marriage of children'. 'self injury or accidents' and 'family accidents' were modified in to self or family accidents. 3. Factor analysis was done in order to identify validity and three factors were obtained from the result. The first factor familial relation area, included 17 items. The second factor, physical area, included 9 items. The third factor, psycho-socio-economic area, included 9 items. Cronbach coefficient alpha for the 35 items was .923. 4. Pearson's correlation was .704 between SESS and SOS (Symptoms of Stress) in order to confirm construct validity. Based on the result, the following is suggested; 1. The modified SESS needs to be reverified with elder. 2. Korean elder's health promotion can be made by development of stress intervention which was accurately measured with SESS.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between housewife's self esteem and attitude toward household work its satisfaction and to find out how independent variables(housewife's age, education level, employment, household work helper, type of family) have effect on the two dependent variables. The measurement of self-esteem was based on the self-concept test standarized by Jung Won Sick, reformed the Fitts measurement for Korean Society. In order to measure of attitude toward household work and its satisfaction, based on the previous research, researcher made the measurement . the research was conducted on 234 housewives in Seoul in September 1984. Data was analyzed by percentage, mean, frequence analysis of variances, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result can be summarized as following. 1)Over on half of housewives have high self-esteem comparatively. 2) Age and education level were variables to have influence n the attitude toward household work. 3)The attitude toward household work and its satisfaction comparatively were high. 4)Education level and type of family were variables to have influence on the attitude toward household work. Education level, employment and household work helper were variables to have influence on the satisfaction of house hold work. 5) Level of Self-esteem has influence on the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. The higher level of self-esteem was, the higher becomes the score of the attitude toward house hold work and its satisfaction. Following suggestions can be extracted form the results of above study. 1) research of housewife's self-esteem didn't established a setted theory yet. I think, therefore, it requires deeper study about housewife's household work look upon as her occupation and relation between the household work as her occupation and her self-esteem in this area. 2) Population and sociological variables, used in this study, hardly influenced on self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. Also the result didn't correspond with one another. So I think it requires need of further study how psychological and family function variables will have influence on housewife's self-esteem, the attitude toward household work and its satisfaction. 3) To recognized the value of household work objectively, many researchers tried to investigate of economical value of household work, But if housewife can realize her self-actualization through household work, it requires the study that try to objectively not only estimate the economic value of household work, but also the contribution of the aspect of family psychology.

  • This article proceeds to scrutinizing a oral tradition called the story of ruining one's family by daughter-in-law's cutting-condemnation conducive to any estimation of Koreans' religious mentality. This oral tradition begins with mischievous behaviors of daughter-in-law. She cut away any materials, which a vagabond monk of Buddhism identified as a source of solacing numberless visitors to her house. Tired of serving all the visitors, she cut away the material. It caused her parents-in-law's house to be collapsed. At a first glance, the daughter-in-law appears to be blamed for the collapse. Interestingly, no one cannot be blamed for the misfortune. A face value of the text does not show that the fate of misfortune comes from any ethical misconduct and its posterior mishandling. Behind this oral tradition, by the way, lies the consciousness that relates misfortune with a ceremony of cutting away any unique material; cutting away any material, cutting away the trend of coming visitors, and cutting away the mood of prosperity becomes identical. The thematic mentality of the text reveals a religious consciousness of seeing human beings' life to be identical with nature. This oral tradition must have focused on the importance of a harmonious relationship between human beings and nature.

  • This study aims to identify the change of bathroom design characteristics through the investigation of bathroom space in apartment model houses. The bathroom space of each private exclusive area was analyzed from the plane characteristics perspective such as quantity, location, size and shape. For this study, site survey and observation was performed to analyze the characteristics of plane and design based on twenty seven model houses of seven large-sized construction firms with Seoul area focused on. Research object was restricted to from ten Pyeong's apartment to sixty Pyeong's in order to understand various characteristics of twenty seven model houses. Since analysis variables were not diverse, the main three factors - frequency, percentage and an average - were represented in Microsoft Excel worksheet, focusing on the quantity of each case, design characteristics and pattern. 1) The quantity of bathrooms: It was turned out that the quantity of bathroom was one in ten Pyeong's apartment while it was two in thirty, forty, and fifty Pyeong's apartment. There were mostly two bathrooms available in twenty Pyeong's apartment even if only one was planned in few cases. All powder rooms and dress rooms in twenty and fifty Pyeong's apartment were designed to be separated and be accessible through bedroom. 2) The size of bathrooms: As private exclusive area increased, the size of bathroom for both family and couple increased. Couple bathrooms had the tendency to be equipped with shower booth and bathtub at the same place or have more tubs than family bathrooms because couple bathrooms were bigger than family bathrooms. 3) The location of bathrooms: Couple bathrooms were usually located beyond dress rooms or powder rooms while family bathrooms were mostly located at the entrance side. 4) The shape of bathrooms: Shower booth was assumed to be in general vogue because family bathrooms, for the most part, were comprised of a flush toilet, a washstand and a shower booth. In the case of couple bathrooms, a flush toilet, a washstand, a shower booth and a tub were generally equipped in more than twenty Pyeong's apartments while a tub was not installed in twenty Pyeong's apartments.

  • Through the restoration, we can find that the register of houses, inhabitants and their ancestry, which is in the Sunsung Kim family registers, was fundamentally the census register of Kim Roe including more ancestry transformed into the lists of house, inhabitants and their ancestry of Kim Roe, Kim Bang-Seek, Kim Sung-Sae and Kim Hee-Bo. And we can find also the original forms were considerably damaged. That is, in the course of transformation, considerable parts of the contents of ancestry were not needed, so they were removed, the recordings of brotherandsisters, sons and their servants were also removed. By comparing of the restored census register of Kim Roe and the Sunsung Kim family registers, we can know the fact that when they published the family registers, the contents of the founder to the ninth descendants were totally depended on the census register of Kim Roe. The Census Register of King Taejo of Choson Dynasty(National Treasure No. 131) which has been recorded almost same periods as the census register of Kim Roe was remained as an original state. Therefore, it was greatly helpful for restoring the census register of Kim Roe. There were few materials which we can know the way of ordinary life in Koryo period. But through the census register of Kim Roe and the census Register of King Taejo of Choson Dynasty, we have a glimpse of their life history. Nevertheless we can find some demerits in the census register of Kim Roe as followers : First, it is not an original but a transformed one, while the Census Register of King Taejo of Choson Dynasty is first materials. Second, it was recorded the only one family. Finally, it was omitted the parts of his brotherandsisters, children and servants who lived with their master. According to these demerits its worth of materials for history will be descended more or less. Therefore, when we use this material, we should treat it more considerably.
