실버세대의 인구가 증가하면서 사회의 고령화와 실버산업이 사회적 이슈가 되고 있다. 문헌정보학, 교육학, 디자인학 등의 선행 연구를 살펴보면 실버세대를 위한 동화책의 필요성 제시와 디자인의 관점에서 실버 세대를 위한 동화책의 특징에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 동화책은 정보를 전달하는 매체일 뿐만 아니라 작가가 독자에게 서비스를 제공하는 플랫폼이기도 하다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 서비스 디자인의 관점에서 감각적 체험이 실버대상을 위한 동화책 디자인에 대한 중요성을 제시하고 오감(시각, 청각, 후각, 미각, 촉각)을 기준으로 실버대상 동화책의 포맷, 그리드, 타이포그래피, 활자, 편집 구조, 이미지, 레이아웃, 표지, 종이, 인쇄, 제작에 대해 분석하는 것이다. 연구 결과에 따르면 실버대상 동화책은 아동용 동화책과 서로 다른 성향과 특징(활자, 그림의 표현, 색채, 종이 등)을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 실버대상 동화책은 실버 세대의 생리적, 심리적 요소를 고려해 실버세대의 심미 기준에 맞춰서 디자인하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 차후 실버대상 동화책에 대한 더욱 심층적인 연구가 이루어질 것으로 귀추(歸趨)되며 향후 실버를 대상으로 하는 동화책의 개발에 이론적으로 도움이 될 것을 기대한다.

This paper focuses on the re-creation method of historically valuable literatured tale, "Samguk Yusa" to fairy tale as well as the problems and way of improvement shown in its recreation process using five publication samples. In case of the fairy tale based on the tale having original text, the understanding and judgement about that text as well as the focusing and causality of the story are needed to the fairy tale author. Moreover, it needs clear title for the comparison and relationship with original text and also it requires the fitting arrangement of history and fiction to evoke the imagination of child. In addition, to rise more interest of child, the various literary expression showing beauty of language, selection and understanding of original tale, acquirement of formal beauty as a literature and binding of books should be considered effectively. Through the effort of problem solving and new writing approaches for tale re-creation, we will get more interesting and instructive fairy tale, "Samguk Yusa".

Purpose: Education for children in South Korea is similar to that for adults, necessitating additional enhancements. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of fairy-tale books in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) education among kindergarten children. Methods: The study involved 64 kindergarten children enrolled in an affiliated kindergarten program were included. The participants were divided into an experimental group of 32 who received CPR education using picture books, and a control group of 32 who received education through traditional methods. Participant characteristics such as sex, age, height, weight, cardiac arrest awareness, and ability to request assistance were measured, and the collected data were statistically analyzed. Results: Following education, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores than the control group across all measures, including cardiac arrest recognition (2.25 vs. 0.34, p<.001) and consciousness assessment (1.81 vs. 0.09, p<.001). Additionally, in requesting assistance, the experimental group exhibited statistical superiority in phone usage (1.75 vs. 0.28, p<.001), situational explanation post-call (2.25 vs. 0.34, p<.001), and self-location explanation (0.84 vs. 0.00, p=.001). Conclusion: The use of fairy-tale books in CPR education enhanced cardiac arrest recognition and the ability to request assistance (EMS Activation) more effectively than the traditional educational methods among kindergarten children.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of traditional fairy tales on the basic understanding of economics and numbers for 4 year old preschoolers. The subjects were 20 children at one education center located in Seoul: Among them, 10 were in the experimental group and 10 were in the control group, based on random selection. The program for economic education was conducted for eight weeks; two times each week for the experimental group, while a general curriculum was conducted with several traditional fairy tale books related to economic education were given to the control group. The preschoolers' basic understanding of economics and numbers was examined using the scales of Park(2008) and Choi(2003). Collected data was analyzed by t-test and ANCOVA using SPSS 17.0 program. The results were as follows: there were significant differences in the understanding of economics and numbers according to economic education based on traditional fairy tales respectively. In conclusion, it is necessary to conduct a scientific study in order to develop an economic education program. Also, various activities were discussed to use the economic program for preschoolers.

본 연구의 목적은 실버세대를 대상으로 하는 그림동화책의 필요성과 특성을 학문적 고찰을 통해 실버세대를 위한 그림동화책의 디자인적 특성들을 실증적으로 제시한 것이다. 고령화 현상과 문헌정보학, 교육학, 문학치료학 등 문헌자료의 분석결과를 통해 그림동화책은 실버세대들의 심신건강에 도움이 된다는 결과를 얻게 되었지만 실버세대를 위한 동화책은 수요에 비해 부족한 것이 현실이다. 그러므로 실버세대를 위한 동화책 연구개발에 대한 이론적 근거가 절실하게 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 실버세대의 시각기관, 몸 기능, 심리적 요인 등 특성을 반영한 그림동화책의 개발이 필요함을 제언하면서 동시에 실버세대를 위한 동화책을 디자인 할 때 그림의 특징 요소 중 스토리내용, 그림(표현방법, 크기, 레이아웃, 구도, 색채), 타이포 등에서 실버세대들의 독서 장애에 대한 문제점을 해결하기 위한 실버세대의 특성에 맞춰진 세심한 주의가 필요함을 제시하였다. 또한 향후에는 실버세대를 대상으로 한 실증분석을 통해 실버세대를 위한 그림동화책의 구성에 적합한 디자인적 특성이 입체적인 분석 데이터를 연구함에 있어 선행 자료의 일부분으로 활용되길 기대한다.

This study investigated the effect of educational intervention utilizing fairy tales on young children's creativity and pro-social behaviors. Participants were 40 five-year-old young children. Fairy tale books were read to the experimental group and were adapted for various educational intervention activities but the control group participated only in standard child care center themes without educational interventions. Results showed significant differences between experimental and control groups in creativity and pro-social behavior. Findings confirmed that educational intervention utilizing fairy tales is an effective means for enhancing creativity and pro-social behavior in young children.

There are many versions of the thai folktale "Pla Boo Thong" in Thailand, which is a typical type of stepmother story and in many ways resembles Cinderella story. This study, the author took 6 versions, some from books, some from internet. The main story of those 6 version is consist of the death of mother, stepmother and step sister, the maltreat of the stepmother to the heroine, tiding over the critical moments with the help of the dead mother and others, getting married with the king and happy of the heroine, death of the heroine by the slander of stepmother, posing as a queen of the stepsister, reincarnation of the dead heroine, meeting with the king again, and punishment and the stepmother and stepsister. The main theme of this narrative is a conflict in the polygamic family and is followed by the pattern of the Cinderella tale such as the distinct contrast of Good and Evil. This tale also teaches teachings of Buddha such as the punitive justice, the promotion of virtue and reproval of vice, and forgiveness. And otherwise it gives the people the courage and hope to overcome fortitude in their life.

As e-books have been becoming common, the market for digital textbooks also has been expected to grow rapidly. In this paper, we introduce our experience of developing interactive e-books with Unity3D, and the result of user's experiment of using the books. The e-books are targeted to the lower grades in elementary schools, and they are a series of a fairy tale story with educational information on flat tide. They support rich user interactions such as dragging and clicking objects and rich media including 3D animations, videos, pictures, and augmented reality. We separate educational information from the main story in order to meet some incompatible issues among story, education, and user interaction. We conducted user experiments with twenty four 4th grade students and 95.8% (23 from 24) of them liked the e-books. They also thought the e-books would help them study about flat tide and sea creatures in there.

This study investigated the effects on young children's vocabulary and reading ability of the comprehensive language-teaching program using web-based picture books. The comprehensive language program was put into operation for 9 weeks with a classroom teacher who had in-service training for this program. The language course for the 23 children in the control group consisted only of ordinary language activities using teacher-made picture cards. Test results analyzed by t-test showed that the 25 children in the experimental group gained more than the control group on reading attitude including the concept of reading, accuracy, verbal expression, participation, contents and originality. Also, the ability to read a fairy tale aloud increased in the experimental group.

도서관은 독자에게 독서정보를 제공하여야 할 의무와 책임이 있는 대표적 기관이며, 사서는 독자에게 도서에 관한 정보를 제공하기 위하여 아낌없는 상담과 조언을 할 수 있어야 한다. 독자들의 그림책에 관심이 높아지면서 도서관과 사서는 훌륭한 그림책은 어떤 것인지? 유사한 종류의 다양한 도서 중 어떤 것을 선택할 것인지? 등의 도서 선택과 독서에 도움을 줄 수 있는 그림책 서평을 정기적이고 지속적으로 작성 제공하여 독자들의 독서정보를 지원할 수 있어야 한다. 문학과 예술의 복합장르인 그림책 서평을 작성하기 위하여서는 내용소개는 물론 시각 텍스트에 관한 문학적 상징성 등의 해설적인 정보를 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위하여 사서는 작가의 사상과 철학을 이미지로 형상화한 심층적인 의미를 읽을 수 있는 시각적 문식성을 갖추어야 한다. 이에 옛 이야기 "빨간모자"를 다룬 두 작가의 그림책을 비교 분석하여 그림책 서평 작성 시 참고하여야 할 시각적 텍스트에 관한 이해를 돕고자 하였다.
