기술발전 추이에 따른 열차제어장치의 개발방향 (A Study on the development strategy for TCS in technology context)

  • Signaling system, for which ensuring safe train operation, must be a fail-safe system with higher reliability and safety. TCS has made significant improvements both on signaling system, from relay based ground signaling system to computer based on-board system, and on driving mode, form low speed and low density driving to TCS supporting high speed and high density driving. In addition, TCS has been applied to rolling stock with a wide variety of context according to the characteristics of rolling stock or railway infrastructure. In this paper, therefore, we confirmed the basic concept of ATC system and analyzed its development process in technology context via referencing international cases and ATC systems introduced and applied in Korea. Based on those analyses, we suggested the new TCS development strategy for its suitable application to high speed line, conventional line and metro, and we also provided technical considerations related to TCS application.

  • KTX trains which began passenger service between Seoul and Busan in April 2004 have gained very high evaluation for their safe operation. Track is one of the most important means to keep KTX safety, it has not been a fail of safe structure. The track failure during operation may lead to a severe accident. So, it is to be verified the confidence of track maintenance management on the high speed line. This paper would like to find a track deformation trend through a comparative analysis on actual measurement data at these times. It discusses the effect of cyclic dynamic load at welding part. KTX dynamic impact load was measured in accordance with a rail surface irregularity and analyzed some track irregularities according to the condition of rail profile at welding part in the Gyeongbu high speed line.

  • Railway signaling safety system organizes equipments and facilities of railway, increases transport efficiency and assures safe operation of railway. In the early days of signaling system railway managers made sure of safety by using relay logic technology based on fail-safe concept. But the development result of computer and science having been introduced to railway industry, railway signaling equipments begin to be operated through micro electronic control system. Accordingly high speed and high density operation of train became possible. Software reliability and safety technology that controls important systems of railway was highlighted. In the middle of 1990s the standard or guideline of railway reliability and safety were studied and established, and are being reviewing in Europe, Japan etc. Our reliability and safety technology have depended largely on foreign countries. In this study we performed a basic study about the reliability of software that controls the railway signaling system.

  • The Rolling Stock pursues more safe, speedy and accurate operation on the increment of the passenger and the short headway. Signalling system is providing an assurance on safety and reliability of the system, which is based on fail-safe concept. Therefore we are willing to study up on MMI device for new onboard ATP/ATO equipment which is used for driver to recognize train status and fault more quickly and to solve any problem more rapidly, which can maximize the stability and reliability of the system.

  • This thesis presents a development of intelligent digital governing system and it's application on Sumjingang Hydro-Power plant. The developed system consists of hardware, software and governing algorithm. The feature of hardware is triplex-modular fail safe redundant system for a safe turbine running. The software consists of operating system and application program. The operating system has real-time and multi-tasking features. And also, application algorithm is composed to run francis type hydro-turbine. The developed digital governing system is applied to Sumjingang hydro-power plant, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Corporation.

  • 원자력발전소의 화재방호 목적은 예방, 화재의 진압 및 영향을 완화하는 데 있으며, 화재가 발생하면 원자로를 안전하게 정지하여 유지하고 환경으로 방사성물질의 유출을 최소화하는 것이다. 미국의 원자력규제위원회는 10CFR50.48과 10CFR50 APP.R을 발행한 이래 지난 20여년간 화재방호와 관련하여 많은 일반 통신문(Generic Communications)을 발행하였으며, 미국원전 발전사업자(Nuclear Energy Institute)에서는 회로고장 해결을 위한 다중오동작과 관련된 결정론적 방법 등을 사용과 연계하여 위험도정보를 활용한 화재 안전정지분석 방법론을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 중수로원전의 주제어실 화재시 화재안전정지분석 방법론을 적용하여 안전정지용 한 계열의 안전관련 계통 및 기기가 손상되어도 원자로의 사고 후 안전정지를 달성하고 유지함을 확인하였다.

  • The development project of Korean High Speed Train (KHST) was started in 1996. As a national research project, the KHST project aims for a development of the next generation prototype train that has a maximum speed of 350 km/h. The development process of prototype KHST including 7 vehicles was completed last year and currently the prototype train is on its way of test running over the test track with gradually increased speed. The prototype KHST uses the real time network called TCN (Train Communication Network) for exchanging information between various onboard control equipments. After 10 years of development and modification period, TCN was confirmed as international standard (IEC61375-1) for the electrical railway equipment train bus. In the prototype KHST, all major control devices are connected by TCN and exchange their information. Such devices include SCU (Supervisory Control Unit), ATC (Automatic Train Control), TCU (Traction Control Unit), and so forth. For each device that sends and receives data using TCN, a device has to find out whether TCN is in normal or failure state before its data exchange. And also a device must have a proper method of data validation that was received in a normal TCN state. This is a one of the major important factors for devices using network. Some misleading information can lead the entire system to a catastrophic condition. This paper briefly explains how TCN was implemented in the prototype KHST train, and also shows what kind of the fault diagnosis method was adopted for a fail safe operation of TCN system

Verification and Mitigation of Seismic Failure in Concrete Piers under Near-field Earthquakes

  • This paper verifies the difference of the seismic behavior and seismic damage of the neighboring two reinforced concrete piers damaged by the 1995 Hyogoken Nanbu earthquake. The two piers were almost the same size, carrying slightly different dead load, and were provided with the same reinforcement arrangement except the amount of longitudinal reinforcement at the bottom portion of the piers. The pier with more reinforcement was completely collapsed due to this near field earthquake by shear failure at the longitudinal reinforcement cut-off while the other was only damaged at the bottom by flexure even though the longitudinal reinforcement cut-off was also existed at the mid height of the pier. According to the results of the pseudo dynamic test, the seismic damage was recognized to be greatly dependent on the ground motion characteristics even though the employed ground motions had the same peak acceleration. The severe damage was observed when the test employed the seismic wave that had strong influence to the longer period range compared to the initial natural period of the pier. On the other hand, based on the similar model experiment, the defect of gas-pressure welded splice of longitudinal reinforcement was revealed to save the piers against collapse due to the so-called fail-safe mechanism contrary to the intuitive opinion of some researchers. It was concluded that the primary cause of the collapse of the pier was the extremely strong intensity and peculiar characteristics of the earthquake motion according to both the site-specific and the structure-specific effects.

  • 철도차량의 주행안정성과 곡선추종성능을 동시에 획기적으로 개선하기 위한 능동조향대차의 가능성은 이론적으로는 계속적으로 검증되어 왔지만 능동제어를 위한 정보획득 문제, 부수적인 기계요소, 높은 에너지 소비, 고장에 대비한 안전기능 등과 같이 해결해야할 기술적 난제 때문에 많은 노력에도 불구하고 아직까지 상용화되지 못하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하고자, 본 논문에서는 보다 진보된 능동조향 메커니즘을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문의 메커니즘을 이용하면 적은 제어력만 필요하기 때문에 기어와 같은 동력 전달장치가 필요 없고, 그 결과 추가되는 기계요소의 개수를 최소화 할 수 있으며 안전장치 또한 쉽게 구축이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 능동조향대차의 개념에 관하여 소개하고 선형동적모델을 이용한 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 가능성을 검증하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문은 헬기용 주륜 착륙장치의 기본 성능 향상 뿐 만 아니라 Fail-Safe 성능 및 소모 전력량을 개선할 목적으로, 전자석에 영구자석을 장착한 하이브리드 MR댐퍼형의 반능동제어 착륙장치를 도입하였다. 영구자석 위치에 따른 비교연구와 자기장 해석을 통해 원하는 제어력이 발생하는 MR댐퍼를 설계하였고 착륙 거동 시 내력으로 발생되는 공기력과 감쇠력의 합을 특정 값에서 일정하게 유지시키는 개념의 하중제어기법을 제어기로 적용하였다. 하이브리드 MR댐퍼를 이용한 하중제어의 착륙장치에 대하여 구성한 ADAMS 모델을 기반으로 낙하 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고 착륙특성에 대한 성능평가로 성능 개선을 확인하였다.
