This study explored the consistency in service-learning courses through comparing course syllabi and faculty survey in order to incorporate a service-learning course into the Home Economics practicum. The first step was to examine how consistent were between the reasons for choice of service-learning and importance of overall civic learning goals, between the importance of civic learning goals and educational objectives on syllabus, and between planned activities and accomplished activities. This study collected the descriptive and quantitative data from the syllabi for service-learning courses and a faculty survey at Texas Tech University. The major findings were that there was meaningful consistency between: the reasons for choosing service-learning and the importance of overall civic learning goals, the importance of civic learning goals and educational objectives, and planned activities on syllabus assignment and accomplished activities on the faculty survey related to course components. Future research regarding service-learning course design would be required in detail, and practice in designing service-learning courses would be consistent between the syllabus and performance in actual courses.

본 연구는 D광역시 소재 P사립대학에서 대학수업의 질 개선의 일환으로 강의계획서 개발을 목적으로 실시되었다. 연구절차는 문헌연구를 통해 강의계획서의 정의와 구성요소를 추출하였고, 전국의 4년제 대학교 중 참여를 승낙한 27개 대학의 강의계획서를 수집하여 구성요소와 내용을 분석하였고, P대학 소속 교수 15명을 대상으로 강의계획서에 대한 인터뷰를 실시하고 이를 분석하였다. 전문가집단으로 구성된 연구팀에 의해 수집된 자료들을 분석하고 이를 토대로 강의계획서를 개발하였다. 개발된 강의계획서는 국내 저명 교육학 전문가 2명의 평가를 통해 타당성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 강의계획서는 핵심 기본 요소와 교과목의 특수성을 반영한 교수자의 선택 요소로 구성하여 사용자의 자율성과 편리성을 확보하였다. 이를 통해 확장된 방식에 따라 다양하고 독창적 강의계획서가 만들어질 수 있도록 고안되었다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

The Korean pharmacy education has introduced new curriculum since 2011. In the new curriculum, pharmacy students have been provided strenthen experimental education and clinical pharmacy has been more important than previous curriculum. Thus, faculties in the college of pharmacy should prepare the circumstances correlated with the changed curriculum. To accomplish successful setting, all faculty and practice experts must work together and need financial assisstant from the college. However, there are many different obstacles among 35 colleges of pharmacy in Korea. In order to narrow a gap among students and find the way to overcome it together, we studied the problem of preparation process in Korean colleges of Pharmacy. We studied the process of practical education in college of pharmacy by means of self-reporting questionnaire from November 29th 2012 to December 31th 2012. The questionaire comprised of syllabus related to clinical pharmacy, the number of professor in charge of clinical pharmacy or pharmacotherapeutics, the plan of securing faculties in the field of clinical pharmacy, the budget, site, instrument for preparing experimental education, the lesson time number of experimental education, MOU, education and treatment of preceptor in the practice site and committee of experimental education in the college. Total 21 of 35 colleges participated in this survey. They showed different composition of syllabus, budget, the circumstances of experimental education, the education and treatment of preceptor. Most colleges are unclear the site and preceptor of experimental education and they did not contract the MOU with the sites. 9 of 21 also did not have the committee of experimental education in the colleges. From 2013, some colleges of pharmacy start actual experimental education. Inadequete preparation and different quality of education can make student incomplete pharmacists, so it will be negative effect on public health. To overcome challenge and obtain desirable goal, funding/administrative assistant from the college and networking within 35 colleges of pharmacy are needed.

Education and training of technical staff for the new generation technological equipment has a vital importance for developing countries in order to maintain sustainable development and keep up with new generation technologies. Mechatronics the synergistic combination of mechanical, electronic and software engineering from an engineering perspective to serve the purposes of controlling advanced hybrid systems is a product of new generation technology which can be given as a sample to this phenomenon. Recent marine engines are combination of heavy industry with high technology. Nowadays, ships are built in full automation and equipped with computer controlled mechatronics systems. However, finding qualified officer and engineers who can operate, maintain, control and repair when it is required such full automatic systems with knowledge of a new generation system became a serious issue. Due to importance of this fact STCW Manila amendment has new training and certification requirements for electro-technical officers. In this paper, Mechatronics applications on ship are introduced, importance of it highlighted and a new syllabus is proposed for the training of marine engineers to be nurtured with mechatronics knowledge as it is required.

Purpose: Higher Order Thinking Skills is one of the important aspects in education that must be mastered by the students in order to be qualified in competing at international level. Success in mastering HOTS among the students is always linked to preparation of a good and conducive learning environment. However, does this connection impacts the students' HOTS achievement? Therefore, this research is carried out in order to evaluate the relationship between HOTS and learning environment with the main focus on Accounting Principle Elective Subject (MPEI PP). Research design, data and methodology: Research in the form of correlation is implied in this study and it involves 59 Form 5 students that has learned all syllabus in Form 4's MPEI PP. Results: Evaluation of HOTS level is based on Taxonomy Bloom that covers applying skill, analysing skill, evaluating skill, and creating skill. Result from data analysis found that there is a very weak correlation (r = 0.02) between the two variables with regression equation of average grade point = 75.023 + (-.273) Learning Environment. Conclusion: Thus, a non-significant relationship between HOTS and learning environment is successfully proven through correlation and regression statistical analysis.

This article describes the development, evaluation and dissemination of biological nursing (bionursing) science courses established in Korea. Prior to this innovation the subject such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology and pathology were taught by non-nursing faculties, such as basic medical science faculty members. And it often did not meet and satisfy the needs of most undergraduate nursing students. To meet these needs, we have developed four bionursing courses by overhauling individual courses and integrating these by creating new titles, objectives, and contents. In this process, the Korean Society of Biological Nursing has made enormous efforts to standardize the contents of the courses and to develop standard syllabus of four bionursing subjects. This article also suggests for further development of bionursing science such as enhanced linkage of the contents of bionursing science courses with clinical practice, reinforcement of teaching competency of professors, and activation of researches using various biological measurement to provide concrete evidences for nursing practice.

The main purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the 'logical reasoning skill' and performance in the logic unit that is part of the grade 9 syllabus in mathematics in Turkey. After the teaching of the logic unit, an achievement test, a general skills test and the test of logical reasoning were administered to the 80, 9th year high school students. Pearson Moments Correlation coefficient was used for the analysis of the data to determine the relations between the variables. In addition to that to obtain the most suitable regression explaining the students' performances in the logic unit, stepwise multiple regressions analysis was used. At the end of the study, statistically significant relations were found between the students' performance in the logic unit and their logical reasoning skills, their results of the shape recognition test from the general skills battery and their overall performance in the mathematics lesson.

This study aimed to ascertain whether electronic courses at the deanship of electronic learning and distance education at Umm Al-Qura University meet the quality standards developed by the Quality Matters (QM) organization. This endeavor adopted a mixed method of an explanatory sequential research design for an in-depth understanding of the topic under scrutiny. The sample of the study consisted of ten courses designed at the deanship and reviewed using an evaluation form. The results showed that the courses in focus did not meet the criteria of QM. Based on this finding, a semi-structured interview was designed to collect relevant data from the syllabus designers at the deanship. The interviews yielded information on the difficulties the course designers faced when designing QM-criteria-based courses. The results obtained from the interviews showed that the designers experienced administrative, technical, and faculty-member-related challenges that, when producing online courses, intercepted their way to achieving the QM standards. The study closed with some recommendations, the most important of which is a call for re-developing online courses in alignment with the well-recognized QM standards.

The maritime education and training is executed in Asian countries according to The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers(STCW). However, mainly basic training and education takes in maritime universities, because this convention is minimum requirements to become junior mariner. So, until now researches have not developed to the stage of discussing how maritime universities of advanced shipping countries should pursue the direction of education in the new eras. Korea and Japan as the leading shipping countries in Asia, need to take initiatives in building a new education system in order to foster the next generation maritime expert. To enhance the professional abilities of maritime technologists in the new era, element design of science and technology relating to maritime issues and a new education system based on an amalgamation of maritime education and scientific and technological education were discussed.

본 연구의 목적은 인터넷상에 산재한 전산학분야의 대학강의안을 용이하게 검색할 수 있는 메타데이터 시스템을 더블린코어(DC) 기반으로 구축하고 평가하는 것이다. 첫째 실험은 전산학분야 강의안 시스템을 DC의 요소에 국한하여 구축된 시스템과 DC의 요소를 확장하여 구축된 시스템을 30명의 피실험자들이 자시의 질의와 할당된 질의를 검색하게 함으로써 검색 효율성과 정확률, 그리고 이용자의 만족도를 측정하는 것이다. 이 실험을 통해서 전산학 분야 메티데이터 시스쳄 구축하는데 표쥰 DC요소의 확장이 필요한지를 점검하고자 하였다. 둘째 실험은 전산학 강의안 시스템의 브라우징 체계에 관한 분석으로써, 피실험자의 브라우징 접근방법 및 단계, 브라우징 과정을 기록하고, 실험 후 피실험자와의 면담을 통하여 접근의도, 만족도 및 보완점 등을 파악하였다. 메타데이터 요소를 달리한 두 시스템의 비교 분석실험에서 얻어진 결론은 검색 소요시간에서 DC 기반시스템, 전반적인 이용자 만족도에서 DC확장시스템이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 다른 측정요소에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 또한 브라우징 체계 분석 실험에서는 각 교과목마다 둘 혹은 세 개의 주제어를 부여한 것이 이용자에게 폭넓은 접근점을 제시한 것으로 나타났다.
