This study was an attempt to review of tuberculosis control projects supported by(Official Development Assistance: ODA) and to describe the meaning of the influencing factors. Also, the study aims to determine the exit strategies of donor countries to sustain these projects. The research was conducted reviewing of tuberculosis-related reports and documents, and understood the tuberculosis control projects in Philippines. There were 14 people who participated, and explored the sustainability limits using in-depth interviewing and observation method. Data from interviews and participant observations were analyzed to the phenomenological method by Colaizzi(1978). A total 4 categories were grouped on the final. The finding shows factors that affect the sustainability of these tuberculosis control projects within Philippines supported by ODA have been divided and explained as follow; "limit of workforce", "limit of finance", "limit of facility and equipment", "limit of participation". To sustain these projects, the following alternative plans have been exemplified; "strengthening professionalism", "strengthening education and public relations", "activated strategy for community involvement", "matching funds for financing". Furthermore, the study of integrated tuberculosis control projects will be needed.

Recently software industry in GIS(geographic information system) becomes an interesting issue by performing a large scale of national GIS application development as well as even small unit of FMS(facility management system). Also, there exist many cases to combine GIS with various business domains such as MIS(marketing information system), CNS(car navigation system) and ITS(intelligent transportation system). In this situation, in order to develop an efficient and useful GIS application for a short term, there must be a deep consideration of not only developing GIS component but also managing GIS component. In fact, even though there exist many certain components having high reusability, excellent interoperability and good quality, their reusability may be reduced because of their difficulty to access in a certain repository. Therefore, it is important to classify components having common characteristic based on their particular rule with reflecting their functionality and non-functionality before cataloging them. Here, there are two non-functional classification categories discussed such as GIS content-dependent metadata and GIS content-independent metadata. This cataloged components will help application developers to select easily their desired components. Moreover, new components may be easily producted by modifying and combining previous components. Finally, the original goal of all this effort can be defined through obtaining high reusability and interoperability of GIS component.
The purpose of this study is to explore social supports for elderly housing and their residential lives in small cities along rural counties of the United States and Canada, and suggest future implications for age-concentrated rural villages in Korea. In this study, five small and medium cities in non-metropolitan counties of California and Ontario province were visited and elderly residents and service experts were interviewed about their perceptions of community integrated social support networks for senior residences. The senior housing complexes were built due to influx of both metropolitan and rural residents seeking warm localities, traffic connections, business purposes in active production areas. and leisure attractions. There are five main social support networks for senior housing issues in these areas. First, the areas are claimed for senior zones and accordingly health industries are encouraged by local authorities. Second, the community is homogeneously constructed as a senior friendly environment and include features such as an RV park and mobile cottages. Third, senior-helping seniors are offered active work through golf-cluster active retirement communities. Fourth, traditional theme production camps are mobilized by the elderly workers. Lastly, an information system is maintained for screening volunteers and for senior abuse prevention. On the other hand, residential lives are occasionally negatively influenced by unbalanced concentrations of elderly facilities such as nursing stations and funeral homes. For the future of Korean rural elderly policies, suggestions are made as follows: first, an integrated urban and rural township that contains attractive places for early retiring people who seek a warm atmosphere in later life needs to be constructed. Second, an integrated model retirement village of urban and rural retirement life needs to be initiated as a measure of evaluating the adaptation process of movers in senior concentrated zones. Third, a cooperation system among governmental ministries needs to be formed with the long- term goal of establishing a traditional rural town of independent housing districts and medical facilities in rural areas. Fourth, productive and active lifestyles need to be maintained as the local community and government develop successful retirement rural villages, by limiting the expansion of nursing related facilities. Finally, generation integrated visiting welfare programs and services need to be further developed for the housing areas especially in the winter, when social integration and activity are relatively low.
The study is to grasp the problems related to operation of Maternity clinic of public health centers in seoul and needs for public health of community in relation to consumers and providers in order to improve efficiency of community public health for mothers and children. Four pregnancy woman, who receive medical care at the maternity clinic of M public health centers in seoul and understand the purpose of this study, and one nurse who works at the were the objects of this field study. Participating observation and intensive interviews were conducted to collect data. All of them were performed as necessary from time to time since December, 1994, and not during a specific period. Through an data analysis in the order of sector analysis and classification analysis, the data were classified into specific patterns and the results are the following; 1. All of the subjects were using both private hospitals and public clinics, but managing activities prior to delivery were not carried out in accordence with theories for those activities. 2. The subjects showed two types of response to utilizing maternity clinic. they answered that the advantages of the clinic were 'short waiting time for medical treatment', 'medical treatment by female doctors' and 'economical benefit.' Meanwhile, they gave negative response to the problems of 'non-implementation of delivery' 'uncleanness and insufficient facilities', 'limited time of treatment', 'lack of expertise' and 'want of public health education for materity.' 3. Problems related to operation of maternity clinic were 'lack of experts', 'irrational facility structure' and 'absolutely lack budget'. In terms of the status of managing the subjects, 'programs only aimed at attaining the central-government-assigned objects' and 'limited management before and after delivery by non-implementing delivery' were pointed out to be problems. Regarding public health education before delivery and PR relations, 'superficial public health education for maternity' and 'absence of PR programs' were named. In planning and evaluation, 'absence of autonomous planning and evaluation by the clinic itself' was a major problem in operating the clinic. 4. 'Substantial health education and PR', 'supplementation of facilities and eqipment', 'development' and supply of demanded service by the subjects', 'implementation of autonomous programs', and 'reinforcement of supplementary education' were presented as alternatives for efficient opration of maternity clinics.

A fire station and scuba have operated filling facilities for respiratory high-pressure cylinder without getting authority or reporting according to High-Pressure Gas Safety Control Act. They need facility improvement and special management to make provision for the time of accident during filling process. The Government have strived to correct illegal operations and suggested an alternative, establishing and operating the safety cabinet. It insures a safety being distance from danger caused by overpressure and a safety provoked by the protective wall equals or superiors. The safety cabinet is required to have an internal structure that smoothly distribute overpressure at the time of rupture. Plus, it needs to minimize fragments. It is also equipped with the performance of protective wall that makes overpressure to outside vent on the place where there is no person (top or bottom). This study calculated the consequence of physical explosion damage and built a prototype of safety cabinet. In addition, through the gas burst test, it derives for the ways to mitigate the physical explosion damage.

Electronic Navigational Charts(ENCs) are official nautical charts which are equivalent to paper charts with supplementary information. Although their main purpose is to be used for the safe navigation of ships, they also contain much information on coasts and seas which may be interesting to ordinary people. However, there is no easy way to access them because of therir specialized data format, access method and visualization. This paper proposes on implementation of SVG for the access and services of ENCs. SVG(Scalable Vector Graphic) makes it possible to make use of Vector graphics for servicing maps in basic internet browsing environment. Implement of SVG for ENC applications by this research is free of special server side GIS mapping system and client side extra technology. The implementation of SVG for ENC Applications can be summarized as follows: Firstly, SVG provides spatial information to possess searching engine to embody SVG map. Secondly, SVG can provide high-quality vector map graphics and interactive facility without special Internet GIS system. It makes it possible to use services with very low cost. Thirdly, SVG information service targeting on maritime transportation can be used as template, so it can be used dynamically any other purpose such as traffic management and vessel monitoring. Many good characteristics of SVG in mapping at computer screen and reusability of SVG document provide new era of visualization of marine geographic information.

Recent changes in the industrial parks have become a major issue in the nation's economic aspect. However, the industrial park's structure-advance projects under regional changes have excluded the surrounding spaces. The purpose of study is to analyze physical characteristics of Industrial park and adjacent area and to propose practical urban linkage alternatives as place-making It was found that in an urban aspect, the industrial parks belong within the city, but look like an isolated island that doesn't belong to a city. Therefore, as a way that could improve the problems above, and prevent the formation of heterogeneous spaces, the deliberate management of Industrial park's structure-advancement projects is needed. As one of these measures, It is concluded that the review of designating industrial facility zones which is a district unit plan and managing the detailed elements of construction to the various elements of the district level are needed.

Emergency medical service pertains highly to the public service sector which has to be provided equally in a society and evenly in a spatial dimension by the government. However, emergency medical centers in Korea are inequally distributed in a space and also human capital, facility, and equipment for emergency medical centers show clear disparity among regions. This research analyzed the spatial balance of the demand supply level for emergency medical service in Seoul by constructing the potential demand surface map and supply surface map for this service. The surface map of demand-supply balance for emergency medical service was constructed by GIS based map algebra algorism. The results by this analysis very clearly reveal the spatial disparity of emergency medical service. The places where are over-represented by demand level compared to their supply level are estimated to require an additional establishment of emergency medical centers in the near future. While, the places where are over-represented by supply level compared to their potential demand for emergency medical services indicate the possibility of problems in the management of emergency medical centers because of a surplus in the supply of emergency medical services. The results of this research can be utilized in providing valuable information for the adequate provision of emergency medical centers and for the estimation of range on the service area of emergency medical services.
Approximately 64 percent of Korean territory is covered with mountains, and there is occurred a continuous mountain disaster such as landslide, debris flow and slope failure around mountain slopes due to heavy rainfall and typhoon in the summer season. Even in such a reality, the development of mountain areas is being carried out through the development and expansion of social infrastructures centered on mountain areas, but systematic management is insufficient. Constructions of a forest road facility for mountain slopes can be a cause of mountain disasters intensively in the summer season due to artificially changing the mountain area. In this unstable mountain environment, efforts to build a disaster-resistant environment are urgently needed. This research is to analyze the stability of mountain slopes according to soil depth (1~5 m) and mountain slope ($20{\sim}60^{\circ}$) considering the characteristics of rainfall infiltration under extreme rainfall conditions. As a result, the stability of the mountain slope was found to be different according to the depth of soils and the saturation area of the soil layer. As well as the stability of the mountain area was found to be lower than that of the natural mountain area. Specially, rainfall infiltration occurs at the upper slope of the forest road. For this reason, the runoff phenomenon of rainfall infiltration water occurs clearly when the depth of soil layer is low.

Self-management plan for GHG (Greenhouse Gas) reduction should be prepared in academic facilities, which occupy a large amount of energy consumption. In this study, a university was chosen as one of the major academic facilities and its energy consuming pattern and GHG emission were analyzed. The results have shown that annual $CO_2$ emission from university buildings was 10,452 ton-$CO_2$ (0.65 ton-$CO_2/m^2$), and dependent upon 78.0% electricity, 20.5% LNG and 1.5% oil, respectively as energy sources. According to more detail analysis by usage of energy consumption, appliances occupies 36.7% followed by gas heating (18.9%), lighting (18.6%), heating with electricity (12.5%), cooling with electricity (10.2%), transportation (1.5%), gas cooling (1.2%) and cooking (0.4%). Furthermore, annual $CO_2$ emissions per unit area and a student by electricity usage were evaluated to 51.30 kg-$CO_2/m^2$ and 981.86 kg-$CO_2$/capita, respectively and those by LNG usage were 14.61 kg-$CO_2/m^2$ and 241.01 kg-$CO_2$/capita.
