3-D image modeling is in high demand for automated visual inspection and non-destructive testing. It also can be useful in biomedical research, medical therapy, surgery planning, and simulation of critical surgery (i.e. cranio-facial). Image processing and image analysis are used to enhance and classify medical volumetric data. Analyzing medical volumetric data is very difficult In this paper, we propose a new image modeling method based on tetrahedrization to improve the visualization of three-dimensional medical volumetric data. In this method, the trivariate piecewise linear interpolation is applied through the constructed tetrahedral domain. Also, visualization methods including iso-surface, color contouring, and slicing are discussed. This method can be useful to the correct and speedy analysis of medical volumetric data, because it doesn't have the ambiguity problem of Marching Cubes algorithm and achieves the data reduction. We expect to compensate the degradation of an accuracy by using an adaptive sub-division of tetrahedrization based on least squares fitting.
Frontal sinus fractures, particularly anterior sinus fractures, are relatively common facial fractures. Many agree on the general principles of frontal fracture management; however, the optimal methods of reduction are controversial. The subbrow approach enables accurate reduction and internal fixation of the fractures in the anterior table of the frontal sinus by allowing direct visualization of the fracture. Given the surgical success in reduction and rigid fixation, patient satisfaction, and aesthetic benefits, the transcutaneous approach through a subbrow incision is superior to other reduction techniques used in the management of an anterior table frontal sinus fracture.

Face anti-spoofing (FAS) techniques play a significant role in the defense of facial recognition systems against spoofing attacks. Existing FAS methods achieve the great performance depending on annotated additional modalities. However, labeling these high-cost modalities need a lot of manpower, device resources and time. In this work, we proposed to use self-transforming modalities instead the annotated modalities. Three different modalities based on frequency domain and temporal domain are applied and analyzed. Intuitive visualization analysis shows the advantages of each modality. Comprehensive experiments in both the CNN-based and transformer-based architecture with various modalities combination demonstrate that self-transforming modalities improve the vanilla network a lot. The codes are available at https://github.com/chenmou0410/FAS-Challenge2021.

To establish systematic diagnosis and treatment planning of dentofacial deformity patient including facial asymmetry or hemifacial microsomia patient, comprehensive analysis of three dimensional structure of the craniofacial skeleton is needed. Even though three dimensional CT has been developed, landmark identification of the CT is still questionable. In recent, a method for correcting cephalic malpositioning that enables accurate superimposition of the landmarks in different stages without using any additional equipment was developed. It became possible to compare the three-dimensional positional change of the maxillomandible without invasive procedure. Based on the principle of the method, a new program was developed for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning of dentofacial deformity patient via three dimensional visualization and structural analysis. This program enables us to perform following menu. First, visualization of three dimensional structure of the craniofacial skeleton with wire frame model which was made from the landmarks observed on both lateral and frontal cephalogram. Second, establishment of midsagittal plane of the face three dimensionally, with the concept of "the plane of the best-fit". Third, examination of the degree of deviation and direction of deformity of structure to the reference plane for the purpose of establishing surgical planning. Fourth, simulation of expected postoperative result by various image operation such as mirroring, overlapping.
Purpose : To investigate the applicability of the new three-dimensional overlapped reconstruction MR angiography (3-D ORMRA) technique in patients with hemifacial spasm and to compare the new 3-D reconstruction images with conventional MRA source images. Materials and Methods : The study group comprised 27 patients with surgically proven hemifacial spasm. In all patients, conventional MRA source images and 3-D fast imaging employing steady-state acquisition (FIESTA) images were obtained prospectively. After 3-D MR angiographic images were obtained, the 3-D MRA and FIESTA images were overlapped at the workstation by using GE A/W 4.2 add/sub software. We analyzed the relationship between the offending vessels and root exit zone of the facial nerve using both 3-D ORMRA images and conventional MRA source images. Results : In 25 of 27 patients, the offending vessel at the REZ of the facial nerve could be correctly identified on conventional MRA source images. In all patients, the presumed offending vessels depicted by the overlapped 3-D reconstruction MRA image corresponded well with the intraoperative findings. The 3-D reconstruction image showed more clear visualization of the spatial relationship between the offending vessels and the root exit zone of the facial nerve. Conclusion : The overlapped 3-D reconstruction MR angiography technique is very useful and informative in patients with hemifacial spasm, as compared with conventional MRA angiography technique.
This article come to study the visualization representation technique of eye brain of person, basing on the ground of the dynamic graphics which is able to change the real time, manipulating the image as graphic factors of the multi-data. And the important thought in such realization is as follows ; corresponding the character points of human face and the parameter control value which obtains basing on the existing image recognition algorithm to the multi-dimensional data, synthesizing the image, it is to create the virtual image from the emotional expression according to the changing contraction expression. The proposed DyFIG system is realized that it as the completing module and we suggest the module of human face graphics which is able to express the emotional expression by manipulating and experimenting, resulting in realizing the emotional data expression description and technology.

This study aims to conduct a big data analysis of public library operations and uses of 16 metropolitan local government of Korea by using the Chernoff face method. This study is the first to use the Chernoff face method for big data analysis of library services in library and information research. The association of variables and human facial features was decided by survey. The study reveals that in general the provincial governments in Korea operate more libraries, invest more budgets, allocate more staff and hold more collections than metropolitan cities. This administration resulted in more use of libraries in provincial governments than metropolitan cities.

Objectives: Recently a modified high-submandibular approach (HSMA) has been introduced for treatment of condylar fracture. This approach involves an incision line close to the mandibular angle and transmasseteric transection, leading to a low incidence of facial palsy and allowing good visualization of the condyle area, especially the condylar neck and subcondyle positions. This study reports several cases managed with this modified HSMA technique for treating condylar fractures. Materials and Methods: Six cases of condylar fractures treated with modified HSMA technique were reviewed. Results: Three unilateral subcondylar fracture, 1 bilateral subcondylar fracture, 1 unilateral condylar neck fracture, 1 unlateral simultaneous condylar neck and subcondylar fracture cases were reviewed. All the cases were successfully treated without any major complication. Conclusion: Reduction, fixation, and osteosynthesis of condylar fractures via the modified HSMA technique enabled effective and stable treatment outcomes. Therefore, the described approach can be used especially for subcondylar and condylar neck fractures with minimal complications.
Currently, digital technology is being used in various fields of dental treatment. In particular, in the case of anterior esthetic restoration, the traditional restoration method cannot contain facial information and it is difficult for the patient to predict the treatment result. However, in the case of esthetic restoration through digital design, the visualization of the prosthesis design and the ease of reflecting patient feedback, and expecting the treatment result is available. In this case, the patient confirmed the results of restoration treatment using a digital method before treatment and obtained consent for treatment in an anterior tooth trauma patient. In addition, since the conventional digital smile design method uses only the patient's facial and smile information, the design was made on a two-dimensional plane, and its application was somewhat limited. However, in this case, a three-dimensional virtual patient was created and thus the designed restoration was viewed from various angles. Through this case, it was possible to obtain a high degree of satisfaction with the ease of communication with the patient and the technician during the esthetic restoration using the digital method, the simplicity of the procedure, and the treatment result.
In this paper, we propose a method of analysing the relation between the patient's face color and his(her) kidney disease using image processing technology. This method is based on the ocular inspection which is one of the most famous diagnosis methods used in the oriental medical system. The way of processing and analysing the face image, which is for visualization and objectification of the color difference, is included. The objects are selected from the patients who suffer the kidney disease and use the hemodialyzer. Their facial images and clinical data are collected. From these data, we propose a hypothesis that the color of the patient's face is changed according to the patient's kidney state. At the same time, we present two algorithms of extracting the specific part of face which can identify the state of the patient's kidney and tracing the history of the color's change. This proposed method is evaluated through the practical experiments and their analysis.
