Power of SNS Authenticity on Company Reputation (기업명성과 SNS 진정성의 영향력 연구)

  • SNS is in the process of fast evolution as well. This study is about influence of authenticity and interactivity among Facebook Fan Page users. Authenticity is something people form in the process of expressing and sharing information thru SNS Facebook Fan Page. Interactivity is a level of participation of users in the process of expressing and sharing information thru SNS Facebook Fan Page. The focus of this paper is to see the power of authenticity and interactivity of SNS Facebook Fan Page users in a time of crisis. Authenticity is proven as a valuable asset for corporations for it showed a sturdy characteristic even when something terrible happened. When a crisis attacked, high authenticity user group was not willing to change their evaluation on a company reputation and image as much as low authenticity user group. Interestingly enough, the meaning interactivity level was strikingly different from what we expected. The more their level of interactivity, was the more they were likely to change their evaluation on a company in a time of crisis. A serious discussion is necessary for this contraty results.

A Study on Continued Intention of Social Network Services by Applying Privacy Calculus Model: Facebook and KakaoTalk Cases (프라이버시 계산 모형을 적용한 SNS 지속 사용 의도에 대한 연구: 페이스북과 카카오톡 사례 중심으로)

  • Given the proliferation of social network services, it has become important to understand its user's continued use behavior. As users' privacy concerns in SNS have been identified as a critical barrier against forming this continued intention, many studies have focused on inducing continued intention by mitigating privacy concerns. However, this paper suggests to approach users' continued intention not only from the perspective of mitigating privacy concerns but also from the perspective of increasing potential benefits. Under the theoretical framework of privacy calculus model, we conducted cross sectional survey on 150 Facebook and 150 KakaoTalk users. The result suggests that trust mediates the relationships between privacy concerns and continued intention and between network externality and continued intention, and the influence of support for network formation on continued intention. The effect of network externality on continued intention, however, is not significant among Facebook users while it is significant among KakaoTalk users.

  • Personalized data of users at social network service can be used as a new resource for providing personalized nutrition information. Although providing personalized information for nutrition using social data, there are a few studies on providing personalized nutrition information with customized user preference based on social network service. The purpose of this study is to implement the clustering of data analysis with collected personal data of Facebook users. To find out the method for providing personalized information, this study described an effective method for providing nutrition information by analyzing web posting on Facebook that can be called a typical social network service. According to the result from clustering, sodium and sugars were important variables from diet of user. Furthermore, the importance of elements of user's diet has some differences according to vendor/manufactures.

  • This study researches PDA (Paralingustic Digital Affordances) in the social media on the basis of Uses and Gratification theory. The study defines PDA as Likes in Facebook and Instagram and Favorites in Twitter. The study inquiries into the motivation of using PDA and interpretational way when Social media users play a role of a sender or a receiver. For this research purpose, the focus group and interview were conducted with 36 college student in the Korea metropolitan area. The research is to comprehend the motivation and satisfaction of using PDA by applying structured theory frame of Uses and Gratification. As a result, it contributes to more satisfactions when PDA users interact each other as a sender and a receiver than mere verbal-communication. Furthermore, PDA in each social media has different meaning and gravity. For instance, Likes in Instagram is considered less important and lighter than Likes in Facebook. Moreover, people use the PDA without any restriction. People favorably use PDA most of the time, but sometimes they use in contradictory or sarcastic way.

  • Mobile SNS like facebook is famous as an app which users cooperate others and share information without regard to time and place. But it is necessary to evaluate the mobile app accessibility in view of the disabled and the aged to check if they get appropriate interface service to use such a popular app. Mobile app accessibility is an indicator of equal opportunity to mobile app for all users regardless of cognitive and physical attribute. Therefore, this paper evaluates accessibility of facebook and kakaotalk mobile SNS, apprehend the status of conform to the manual, and suggest an improving way, based on 'mobile application accessibility guideline' announced by government and 'mobile application (Android) accessibiliy checking manual(v1.0)' by National Information society agency.

The Effect of Cognitive Absorption, Past Usage and Habit on Automatic Use - focus on the users of Facebook (인지적 몰입과 과거사용 그리고 습관이 자동사용에 미치는 영향 - 페이스북 사용자를 중심으로)

  • Recently, theoretical interests in automatic uses, which can be activated without conscious intention, have been increased. According to previous studies, automatic uses are known to be determined by the strength of habit, the frequency of past uses, and emotional experiences such as cognitive absorption. Concerned on the influences of the above three factors on automatic uses, this paper suggested the following research questions: 'Which effect of cognitive absorption on automatic considering habit?' and 'Does the frequency of past uses always influence habit?'. In order to answer the research questions, this study suggested a research model which would explain the relationship among cognitive absorption, habit, and uses. Especially, cognitive absorption is formed as a moderating variable of the relationship between past use and habit, and the relationships among variables are longitudinally expanded. The suggested research model was empirically tested by surveying 175 'Facebook' users and analysed by partial least square (PLS), which showed the suggested hypotheses are significant. This results answered the research questions as followed: First, cognitive absorption moderates the relationship between habit and automatic use. Second, the frequency of past uses would not always influence the formulation of habit rather but may be influenced by habit.

  • The technological advances within the Internet industry have led to a revolution in terms of how people communicate with each other. For example, users are no longer limited to using face to face interactions to connect and communicate with their peers but can use email, instant messaging and more. A recent trend that researchers are observing is the adaption of SNS. SNS such as facebook and myspace has been a dominant global trend and has grown dramatically in the past 5 years. The purpose of this study was to test SNS usage motivations influencing the user satisfaction. The research model was developed based on literature review. SNS usage motivations consist of five factors: expression, relationship formation, social exchange, information seeking, trend. 189 questionnaires were used for the main part of regression analysis. The analysis results revealed that relationship formation, social exchange and information seeking were very significant factors influencing the user satisfaction. Especially, social exchange was the most significant factor. We can prospect that importance of user satisfaction on SNS usage motivations is more and more increasing in the future.

  • Domestic and international energy and eco-friendly companies take advantage of social media for image enhancement and product promotion. However, there were no in-depth empirical analysis to verify specific effectiveness of social media use in these sectors. The purpose of this study is to reveal the key factors that are considered to use social media effectively for energy and eco-friendly companies. For this purpose, we regarded the effectiveness of social media as Post Awareness and Word of Mouth. Characteristics of social media as a medium were measured separately, media richness and media genre, as independent variables of social media effectiveness. We investigated 413 posts in Facebook brand page of energy and eco-friendly companies and conducted a content analysis. As a result, post awareness of users was greater when post has richer media such as video. For media genre, word of mouth appeared to be greater when the posts provide information.

  • This study is the convenience Facebook brand fan page users who seek functional, emotional, divided into three levels of symbolic benefits to the brand benefit was to examine whether structurally affect to brand attachment and brand commitment. Results and emotional benefits are found to affect the brand attachment relative to the functional convenience. In addition, the symbolic benefits were to affect brand attachment compared with the functional convenience. But the emotional benefits and symbolic benefits was shown to affect different brand without attachment, brand attachment points have been identified that affect the antecedents of brand engagement.

The Impact of Influential's Betweenness Centrality on the WOM Effect under the Online Social Networking Service Environment (온라인 소셜 네트워크 서비스 환경에서 유력자의 매개 중심성이 구전 효과에 미치는 영향)

  • The online social networking services (SNS) have been growing as the means of communication. In this study, we investigated word-of-mouth (WOM) effect under the SNS environment and evaluated the impact of message sender's influence on the WOM effect. Especially, this study focused on the betweenness centrality calculated through the social network analysis (SNA) of SNS network information, and proposed it as the measure of WOM message sender's influence, SNA may provide more accurate and objective measures than subjective self-reporting survey method. Fifty-one Facebook users responded to each of their four Facebook friends, who had been selected based on their betweenness centrality, Statistical analyses were performed using the responses and the betweenness centralities of the Facebook friends. The results showed that the direction (positive vs, negative) of a WOM message in SNS had an impact on the attitude of the message receiver toward the product. Moreover, the betweenness centrality of the message sender as well as his/her opinion leadership had a moderating effect on the WOM effect. Opinion leadership is a measure that has been frequently used for indicating the influence of WOM message sender in the previous studies. Considering the result that the betweenness centrality of the message sender was Significantly correlated to his/her opinion leadership, the betweenness centrality can be used for indicating the influence of WOM message sender.
