Key Factors Affecting Intention to Order Online Food Delivery (OFD)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the impact of key factors such as service quality, perceived benefit and brand familiarity on a consumer's intention to order online food delivery (OFD). In addition, mediating effect of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) between relationships among selected key variables and OFD purchase intention is also assessed. Research design, data and methodology: This explanatory, quantitative study employed convenience sampling and collected data through online structured questionnaire from 304 respondents who are users of OFD apps based in greater Klang valley region of Malaysia. The data was then subjected to normality and reliability assessment followed by confirmatory factor analysis, validity assessment and structural equation modelling using IBM SPSS AMOS 24.0. Results: Findings revealed that service quality, perceived benefits and brand familiarity affects purchase intention positively and significantly. Perceived benefits demonstrated highest impact on purchase intention followed by brand familiarity and service quality. Findings also suggest that e-WOM fully mediates relationship between brand familiarity and purchase intention, however, the same was not observed for remaining two variables. Conclusions: The study has enriched OFD literature by investigating impact of selected key factors on purchase intention in the context of OFD. Implications, limitations and future research avenues are then discussed.

Comparable Electron Capture Efficiencies for Various Protonated Sites on the 3rd Generation Poly(Propylene Imine) Dendrimer Ions: Applications by SORI-CAD and Electron Capture Dissociation Mass Spectrometry (ECD MS)

  • In this article, we report the tandem mass spectrometry investigations for the electron capture efficiencies of the protons belonging to the different locations (generations) in a poly(propylene imine) dendrimer with three layers of a repeat unit (named as the third generation dendrimer). The employed tandem mass spectrometry methods include SORI-CAD (sustained off-resonance irradiation collisional activation dissociation) and ECD(electron capture dissociation) mass spectrometry. We obtained SORI-CAD spectra for the dendrimer ions in the different charge states, ranging from 2+ to 4+. The analysis of fragmentation sites provides the information as to where the protons are distributed among various generations of the dendrimer. Based upon this, a new strategy to study the electron capture efficiencies of the protons is utilized to examine a new type of triplycharged ions by SORI-CAD, i.e., the 3+ ions generated from the charge reduction of the native 4+ ions by ECD: (M+4H)$^{4+}\;+\;e^-\;{\rightarrow}$ (M+4H)$^{3+\bullet}$ ${\rightarrow}\;({H^{\bullet}}_{ejected}$) + (M+3H)$^{3+}\;\rightarrow$ CAD. Interestingly, comparison of these four SORICAD spectra indicates that the proton distribution in the charge-reduced 3+ ions is very close to that in the native 4+ ions. It further suggests that in this synthetic polymer ($\sim$1.7 kDa) with an artificial architecture, the electron capture efficiencies of the protons are actually insensitive to where they are located in the molecule. This is somewhat contradictory to common expectations that the protons in the inner generations may not be well exposed to the incoming electron irradiation as much as the outer ones are, thus may be less efficient for electron capture. This finding may carry some implications for the case of medium sized peptide ions with similar masses, which are known to show no obvious site-specific fragmentations in ECD MS.

A Methodology for Estimating Diversion Flows on Expressways (고속도로 우회교통량 추정방법론에 관한 연구)

  • VMS based dispersion of traffic flows enables to decrease delay and congestion. Such being the case, there has been growing interests in VMS operation strategy. The strategy is based on driver's behavior or diversion rate. However, it was not easy to obtain each in practice. The diversion rate, thus far, was investigated by stated preference analysis or simulators. As an alternative, in this paper, a new method to obtain diversion flow rate was suggested using the toll collection system and freeway traffic management system data. A large gap of diversion rate between stated preference analysis and field survey was observed. Out of surveyed 8 tollgate data, the diversion rate was about 7% and was quite lower compared with that of 21%${\sim}$87% from stated preference analysis or simulators. With this at hand, a more careful information provision strategy should be devised and employed to correctly account this kind of differences.

  • The ITS(Intelligent Transport System) enables us to provide solutions on traffic problems, while maximizing safety and efficiency of road and transportation systems, by combining technologies from information and communication, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanics, control and instrumentation with transportation systems. The issues that an integration system for massive traffic data sources must face are due to several factors such as the variety and amount of data available, the representational heterogeneity of the data in the different sources, and the autonomy and differing capabilities of the sources. In this paper, we describe how to extract and load of the heterogeneous massive traffic data from the operational databases, such as FTMS and ARTIS using commercial tools. Also, we experiment on traffic data warehouses with integrated quality management techniques for providing high quality data.

  • This paper aims at developing an active expressway entrance control effectiveness analysis tool which operators can utilize and manage traffic based on current traffic condition. For this, after identifying the current problems of tollgate-based entrance policy being used, a new set of decision element such as congestion index, decision criteria for congestion, and congestion management unit has been proposed together with the procedure of newly developed tollgate control policy. Three key parts developed are traffic condition identification module, tollgate metering module, and travel speed calculation module. Some measures of effectiveness were also identified and the newly developed effectiveness analysis tool produced better result. According to classification of traffic condition by reference speed as 80km/h, the improved tollgate entrance procedure increased 21.5% in average travel speed compared with Do-Nothing case and also increased 8.8% compared with current entrance control method.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze drivers' attitude related to usage of traffic information and traffic management service. A sample survey on Seohaeanseon Expressway(15), Gyeongbu Experssway(1), Youngdong Expressway(50) was conducted to analyze drivers' attitude ; sample size is 304 with 95% of confidence level and ${\pm}3.6%$ of sampling error. The analysis lists of drivers' attitude are usage of traffic information, awareness about information dissemination devices, and awareness about traffic control information related to LCS or RWIS. The results of this study is that drivers want pre-trip information, voice-based Hi-pass OBU, and fast incident management. According to the IPA, KEC's main consideration is a traffic flow improvement.

  • In order to estimate a dynamic origin and destination demand between on and off-ramps in the freeways, a traffic flow theory can be used to calculate a link distribution proportion of traffics moving between them. We have developed a dynamic traffic estimation model based on the three-phase traffic theory (Kerner, 2004), which explains the complexity of traffic phenomena based on phase transitions among free-flow, synchronized flow and moving jam phases, and on their complex nonlinear spatiotemporal features. The developed model explains and estimates traffic congestion in terms of speed breakdown, phase transition and queue propagation. We have estimated the link, on and off-ramp volumes at every time interval by using traffic data collected from vehicle detection systems in Korea freeway sections. The analyzed results show that the developed model describes traffic flows adequately.

  • The traffic information is provided, which based on the volume of traffic, speed, occupancy collected through the currently operating Vehicle Detector System(VDS). In addition to the trend in utilization fold of traffic information is increasing gradually with the applied various fields and users. Missing data in Vehicle detector data means series of data transmitted to controller without specific property. The missing data does not have a data property, so excluded at the whole data Process Hence, increasing ratio of missing data in VDS data inflicts unreliable representation of actual traffic situation. This study presented the imputation process due out which applied the methodologies that utilized adjacent stations reference and historical data utilize about missing data. Applied imputation process methodologies to VDS data or SeoHaeAn/Kyongbu Expressway, currently operation VDS, after processes at missing data ratio of an option. Imputation process held presented to per lane-30seconds-period, and morning/afternoon/daily time scope ranges classified, and analyzed an error of imputed data preparing for actual data. The analysis results, an low error occurred relatively in the results of the imputation process way that utilized a historical data compare with adjacent stations reference methods.

  • VMS(Variable Message Sign) which makes the traffic flow smooth by providing traffic information to road users in real-time has been being installed or operated on the road as part of the detailed ITS system. However, some problems were found as a result of survey on express way currently. In the part of the phase operation, the message interpretation time wasn't defined so that the phase operation was difficult. In the part of the information service, not considering characteristic of the VMS section caused the confusion to drivers. In the part of the message exposure, font, alignment, conversion and composition of the information were not consistent and use of superfluous words and inconsistent use of word having the same meaning brought about the problem on information communication This study established the detailed exposure method based on instructions relative to VMS operation. The method established by defining the number of appropriate phase and setting required function of each individual VMS installation location. The method is as follow. the font type is the GULIM, the message conversion method is simple conversion method, the alignment method is centering alignment method and the color is defined according to each situation. In this study, the preference survey was performed to review the validity of the proposed improvement through the common driver. The results were similar with the pre-study except for the font type. This study established the detailed exposure method based on instructions relative to VMS operation. The method established by defining the number of appropriate phase and setting required function of individual VMS installation location. For the evaluation of status and improvement, preference survey of ordinary drivers and statistics analysis was carried.

  • This study aims at developing the model that is able to detect the compression wave, which is included as a similar situation in incidents, that causes false applicable to the similar character such as incidents in the incident detection model for expressways. In this study, it has been checked whether the number of false alarms is decreased or not by modularizing this model for being able to applicable to other models such as DES and DELOS, etc. which do not perform the compression wave test based on the compression wave test process of APID model which has been being used in the expressway traffic management system currently. The evaluation in this study focuses on the sensitivity of the model and the results analysis is performed classified by each polling cycle. And how well these models are working is evaluated by each polling cycle. In addition to this, the detection rate, the false alarm rate and the average detection time in both the existing models and the model in this study are calcuated. As a result of appling the model in this study, it is found that the false alarm rate is improved through the reasonable decrease in the number of false alarm frequencies and there are not remarkable changes concerning the detection rate and the average detection time. To sum up, it is expected that a good number of improvement effects will be occurred when this model is applied to the actual expressway traffic management system.
