  • 본 논문은 수도권 지역계통의 전압안정도 향상을 위한 FACTS 설비의 설치 위치를 선정하기 위해 전압-무효전력의 감도를 이용한 모드 해석(Modal Analysis) 방법의 적용 사례를 제시한다. 적용 사례는 우리나라 전력계통의 2007년, 2008년, 2009년, 2010년의 부하수준별 수도권의 중요 345kV 송전선로 상정 사고시 모드 해석 결과에 의해 각 모드별 모선 참여율을 구해 가장 효과적인 FACTS 설비 설치 후보지를 도출하였다.

  • This paper presents the study results of FACTS application plan for transmission capability Enhancement. Power transfer across the KEPCO system resulting from a concentration of load in the Kyung-In area are subject to thermal, voltage and stability constrains. In the analysis study of the KEPCO system in 2000 and 2006 year. voltage stability analysis. modal analysis and dynamic stability were simulated by the power system analysis tools(VSTAB, PSS/E).

Intake of Processed Food and Perceptions of Food Labeling in Middle School Students (중학생의 가공식품 섭취 실태와 식품표시에 대한 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate intakes of processed food and use and understanding of food labeling by middle school students in the Chonbuk area. Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 912 middle school students. Questionnaires included questions regarding general characteristics of the students, intakes of processed food, perception of food labeling, and knowledge of food labeling. Data were analyzed by SPSS 11.5 statistical software. Significant differences between genders were tested by the $x^2$-test and the t-test. The frequency of processed foods being consumed at least two times per day was 31.0%, once a day was 30.5%, once a week was 26.0%, and eating rarely was 12.5%. Most frequently consumed processed foods were milk and milk products, bread and biscuits, and candy and chocolates. When the subjects bought processed foods, they read the general facts 3.1 out of 5.0 points, where the scores for females (3.2) were higher than the males (3.0) at p<.001. The subjects read the nutrition facts 2.7 out of the 5.0 points, and the scores of the females (3.0) were again higher than the males (2.5) at p<.001. The subjects recognized the necessity of general facts(3.5) and nutrition facts(3.4) of food labeling, but, only 33.9% of the subjects had received food labeling education. The accuracy rate of the food labeling knowledge of the subjects was not high, the accuracy rate ranged from 19.3% to 76.8%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop school programs for middle school students to provide education on processed foods, food labeling, general facts and nutrition facts.

  • The main purpose of this study is to investigate the technology related facts which determine the difference of the output of companies in the fields of IT and BT industries in Korean. The determining facts consist of the technology development strategy, the characteristic of R&D groups, and the ability of managing knowledge assets. Three kinds of regression model are made by using 3 determining facts from total model to IT and BT model to investigate the research purpose of this study. The technology development strategy consists of 2 sub facts, as technology innovation and product upgrade. The characteristic of R&D group consists of 2 sub facts, as the characteristic of task and the intensity of R&D group members. The ability of managing knowledge assets consist of 3 sub elements, as the ability of creating knowledge assets, the ability of holding in common knowledge assets, and the ability of developing the value of knowledge assets.

Congestion Management in Deregulated Power System by Optimal Choice and Allocation of FACTS Controllers Using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm

  • Congestion management is one of the technical challenges in power system deregulation. This paper presents single objective and multi-objective optimization approaches for optimal choice, location and size of Static Var Compensators (SVC) and Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitors (TCSC) in deregulated power system to improve branch loading (minimize congestion), improve voltage stability and reduce line losses. Though FACTS controllers offer many advantages, their installation cost is very high. Hence Independent System Operator (ISO) has to locate them optimally to satisfy a desired objective. This paper presents optimal location of FACTS controllers considering branch loading (BL), voltage stability (VS) and loss minimization (LM) as objectives at once using GA. It is observed that the locations that are most favorable with respect to one objective are not suitable locations with respect to other two objectives. Later these competing objectives are optimized simultaneously considering two and three objectives at a time using multi-objective Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithms (SPEA). The developed algorithms are tested on IEEE 30 bus system. Various cases like i) uniform line loading ii) line outage iii) bilateral and multilateral transactions between source and sink nodes have been considered to create congestion in the system. The developed algorithms show effective locations for all the cases considered for both single and multiobjective optimization studies.

Maximization of Transmission System Loadability with Optimal FACTS Installation Strategy

  • Instead of building new substations or transmission lines, proper installation of flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) devices can make the transmission networks accommodate more power transfers with less expansion cost. In this paper, the problem to maximize power system loadability by optimally installing two types of FACTS devices, namely static var compensator (SVC) and thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC), is formulated as a mixed discrete-continuous nonlinear optimization problem (MDCP). To reduce the complexity of the problem, the locations suitable for SVC and TCSC installations are first investigated with tangent vector technique and real power flow performance index (PI) sensitivity factor and, with the specified locations for SVC and TCSC installations, a set of schemes is formed. For each scheme with the specific locations for SVC and TCSC installations, the MDCP is reduced to a continuous nonlinear optimization problem and the computing efficiency can be largely improved. Finally, to cope with the technical and economic concerns simultaneously, the scheme with the biggest utilization index value is recommended. The IEEE-14 bus system and a practical power system are used to validate the proposed method.

  • 전력 계통이 거대화되고 그 복잡성이 증가함에 따라 계통의 안정적인 운용을 위하여, 다양한 안정도 해석에 대한 요구가 제기되고 있다. 이에 따라 실시간 시뮬레이터를 이용한 계통의 과도현상 해석에 대한 연구 역시 증가하고 있는데, 이는 대규모 비선형 계통을 대상으로 할 경우 H/W의 제약으로 인해 현실적으로 많은 제한을 받는다. 하지만 FACTS등 새롭게 계통에 연계되는 전력 설비의 성능 검증 및 사례 연구를 위해서는 이러한 실시간 시뮬레이터를 이용한 실제 계통에 대한 다양한 과도현상 모의 및 해석이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 UPFC, SVC등 FACTS 기기가 포함된 한전의 실제 전력 계통을 대상으로 등가화 및 계통 축약 기법을 이용하여 해당 계통의 동적/정적 특성을 반영할 수 있는 등가계통을 PSS/E상에서 개발하고, 등가 계통과 실 계통에 대한 다양한 모의를 통해 그 타당성을 검증하였다. 이렇게 개발된 등가 계통 모델은 각 FACTS 기기에 대해 독립된 모델 계통으로 실시간 시뮬레이터를 이용한 FACTS 기기의 성능 검증 및 평가에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 최근의 전력 공급 시장에서는 전력 공급의 유연성을 확보함과 동시에 고품질의 전력을 높은 신뢰성을 가지면서 수용가에 공급하는 송전기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 시장의 요구에 부응하여 송전 시스템의 유효전력 및 무효전력을 능동적으로 제어할 수 있는 FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) 기기의 개념이 도입되었다 FACTS기술의 개념은 기존에 수동적으로 제어하였던 선로의 전압, 임피던스 및 위상각을 능동적으로 제어함으로써 전력공급의 유연성 및 신뢰성을 높이는 것이다 국내에서는 과거 일련의 project를 통하여 인버터형 FACTS 기기외 국내 적용을 위한 연구를 수행해 왔으며, 그 결과를 토대로 한전 전력연구원, (주)효성, 미국 Siemens사 및 국내 연구소와 협동연구의 형태로 한전의 154kV 계통에 적용되는 80MVA급 UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controller) pilot plant project를 진행하고 있다. 본 pilot plant project를 통하여 인버터형 FACTS 기기인 UPFC를 실제계통에 설치, 운영함으로써 향후 한국의 기간 계통인 345kV 송전 시스템에 적용할 시스템의 사양 및 운용전략을 도출할 계획이다. 본 논문에서는 국내 계통의 특징, pilot plant가 설치될 지역의 계통현황 및 기기의 사양을 소개하고 기기의 현장 설치 및 시험 진행 상황에 대하여 설명하였다.

  • This paper proposes a novel switching strategy of 1Mvar STATCON using cascade multilevel H-bridge inverter(HBI) for FACTS application. To control the reactive power instantaneously, the d-q dynamic system model is described and analyzed. A single pulse pattern based on the SHEM(Selective Harmonic Elimination Method) technique is determined from the look-up table to reduce the line current harmonics and a rotating fundamental frequency switching scheme is presented to adjust the DC voltage of each inverter capacitor at the same value. So the voltage unbalance problem between separately DC bus voltage is improved by using the proposed switching scheme. As a result, the presented inverter configuration not only reduces the system complexity by eliminating the isolation at the AC input side transformer but also improves the dynamic response to the step change of reactive power.
