  • The purpose of this study is to present the dwelling space by attaching or inserting the mobile space unit to the fixed building by providing the temporary dwelling space for those suffering from flood disaster, natural disaster or solitary old people or the space and program that the completed building in the city can not provide such as temporary events in the bridge, passage space, walking space for the handicapped, stores located between street blocks, and plaza. Therefore, this study was intended to investigate temporary dwelling space through the composition of space and the experiment of the applicability of the program through the methods of movement, folding, module, expansion and evolution of mobile space. An attempt was made to apply the concept of ‘mobile space’ to the dwelling space not only with a focus on the freedom of variable and changeable physical movement but also with a focus on the existence of the nomad and the way of thinking that bleaks away from a given value system and code, creates a new value and continues to move to a new domain. This study attempted to analyze how the concept of ‘mobile space’ has been developed in what form and method they have been applied and interpreted in the historical background. It attempted to resolve the concepts of movement and mobility through the experiment so that they might apply to the space of contemporary city. This study attempted to experiment this possibility using the mobile space unit and apply it.

  • Formaldehyde (FA) is an economically important chemical, and has been found to cause various types of toxic damage to the body. Formaldehyde-induced toxic damage involves reactive oxygen species (ROS) that trigger subsequent toxic effects and inflammatory responses, which may increase risk of cancer. Therefore, in the present study, we aimed to investigate the possible toxic mechanism in bone marrow caused by formaldehyde. In accordance with the principle of randomization, the mice were divided into four groups of 6 mice per group. One group was exposed to ambient air and the other three groups were exposed to different concentrations of formaldehyde (20, 40, $80mg/m^3$) for 15 days in the respective inhalation chambers, 2h a day. At the end of the 15-day experimental period, all mice were killed. Bone marrow cells were obtained. Some of those were used for the determination of blood cell numbers, bone marrow karyote numbers, CFU-F, superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) content; others were used for the determination of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), cell cycle and Bcl-2, Bax, CytC protein expression. WBC and PLT numbers in median and high dose groups were obvious reduced, but there was no change on RBC numbers. There was also reduced numbers of bone marrow karyotes and CFU-F in the high dose group. SOD activity was decreased, but MDA content was increased. MMP and Bcl-2 expression were decreased with increasing formaldehyde concentration, while expression of Bax and Cyt C was increased. We also observed change in cell cycling, and found that there was S phase arrest in the high dose group. Our study suggested that a certain concentration of formaldehyde could have toxic effects on the hematopoietic system, with oxidative stress as a critical effect.

  • The objectives of this study are to analyze the quantitative ecological principal components of Korean Peninsula using the multivariate spatial environmental datasets and to compare the ecological difference between South and North Korea. Ecological maps with GIS(Geographical Information System) are constructed by PCA(Principal Component Analysis) based on seventeen raster(cell based) variables at 1km resolution. Ecological differences between South and North Korea are extracted by Factor Analysis using ecosystem maps masked from Korean ones. Spatial data include SRTM(Shuttle Radar Topography Mission), Temperature, Precipitation, SWC(Soil Water Content), fPAR(Fraction of Photosynthetically Active Radiation) representing for a productivity, and SR(Solar Radiation), which all cover Korean peninsula. When it performed PCA, the first three scores were assigned to red, green, and blue color. This color triplet indicates the relative mixture of the seventeen environmental conditions inside each ecological region. The first red one represents for 'physiographic conditions' worked by high elevation and solar radiation and low temperature. The second green one stands for 'seasonality' caused by seasonal variations of temperature, precipitation, and productivity. The third blue one means 'wetness condition' worked by high value such as precipitation and soil water contents. FA extraction shows that South Korea has relatively warm and humid ecosystem affected by high temperature, precipitation, and soil water contents whereas North Korea has relatively cold and dry ecosystem due to the high elevation, low temperature and precipitation. Results would be useful at environmental planning on inaccessible land of North Korea.

  • The purpose of this study evaluated the hemo-dynamic information within 30 seconds clinically in 3D breast MRI. From January to March 2014, A total of 40 people were examined at 1.5 Tesla(Philips, Medical System, Achieva, The Netherlands) MRI equipments using 16 channel SENSE breast coil. The imaging parameters on vibrant are fellow as: $TR/TE/FA^{\circ}$/Matrix size/Slice thickness/Slab($5ms/2ms/10^{\circ}/180{\times}139{\times}2mm/80$). This study used a Gadovist and injected it with injection speed of 4 ml /sec by auto injector with 15 ml saline flushing. Firstly, for the delay time study, it divided three different delay time from immediately, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds. In quantitative analysis, the ROI signal intensities of tumor and surrounding tissues were measured retrospectively. In qualitative analysis, the image quality was scored from 1 to 5 point by one experienced radiological technologists as a visual test. The significance level of each delay time was evaluated with a one-way ANOVA(p<0.05). In the visual test, score levels on 30 seconds delay time was a little bit higher than others(p<0.05). The signal intensity of the tumor were $1445{\pm}360$, $1410{\pm}320$, $1510{\pm}415$ on immediately, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds and score levels were $4.18{\pm}0.85$, $3.54{\pm}0.94$, $4.45{\pm}0.74$(p<0.05). The data on immediate images showed better results than that others(p<0.05). Conclusively, Although it has been high scored in 30sec delay time for visual test in order to avoid failure in 20second, 30seconds delay time after contrast media administration, we recommend that the DCE 3D breast MRI commence immediately.

  • This study analyzed the fundamental characteristics of concrete according to a ternary system mixing in order to reduce hydration heat of mass concrete and to improve early age strength. The results are as follows. The fluidity of unconsolidated concrete satisfied the target scope regardless of the binder conditions. When the replacement ratio between FA and BS increased, the slump of low heat-A mix and low heat-B mix increased, and air content was not affected by the change of binders. As for setting time, low heat cement mix had the fastest regardless of W/B, and high early strength low heat mix achieved 6 hours' reduction compared with low heat-B mix at initial set, and 12 hours' reduction at the final set respectively. As for the simple hydration heat, the low mix peak temperature was the highest and low heat-B mix had the lowest temperature. And high early strength low heat mix was similar with that of low heat-B. The compressive strength of hardened concrete had similar strength scope in all mixes except for low heat-B mix at early ages, and had unexceptionally similar one without huge differences at long-term ages.

  • In this paper, a novel feedback linearization is proposed for discrete-time nonlinear systems described by discrete-time T-S fuzzy models. The local linear models of a T-S fuzzy model are transformed to a controllable canonical form respectively, and their T-S fuzzy combination results in a feedback linearizable Tagaki-Sugeno fuzzy model. Based on this model, a nonlinear state feedback linearizing input is determined. Nonlinear state transformation is inferred from the linear state transformations for the controllable canonical forms. The proposed method of this paper is more intuitive and easier to understand mathematically compared to the well-known feedback linearization technique which requires a profound mathematical background. The feedback linearizable condition of this paper is also weakened compared to the conventional feedback linearization. This means that larger class of nonlinear systems is linearizable compared to the case of classical linearization.

  • The effects of the position of potential probe on the measurements of the ground resistance in the fa11-of-potential method are described. The ground resistance is theoretically calculated by applying the 61.8[%] rule, and then the potential probe is located on the straight line between the grounding electrode to be measured and the current probe. However, sometimes the grounding electrode to be measured and the measuring potential and current probes in on-site test might not be arranged on the straight line with adequate distance because there are building, roadblock construction and other establishments. Provided that the grounding electrode to be measured and the measuring potential probes are out of position on the straight line, the measurement of the ground resistance classically falls into an error and the measured ground resistance should be corrected. In this work, measurements were focused on the grounding electrode system made by the ground rods of 2.4 m long. The measuring error was increased with increasing the angle which is made by the 3-points of the grounding electrode to be measured, the potential anti current probes, and it was a negative. That is, all of the measured ground resistances ware less than the true ground resistance.

  • Microglial cells are known as the main immune cells in the central nervous system, both regulating its immune response and maintaining its homeostasis. Furthermore, the antioxidant ${\alpha}-lipoic$ acid (LA) is a recognized therapeutic drug for diabetes because it can easily invade the blood-brain barrier. This study investigated the effect of ${\alpha}-LA$ on the inflammatory response in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated BV-2 microglial cells. Our results revealed that ${\alpha}-LA$ significantly attenuated several inflammatory responses in BV-2 microglial cells, including pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$ and interleukin (IL)-6, and other cytotoxic molecules, such as nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species. In addition, ${\alpha}-LA$ inhibited the LPS-induced phosphorylation of ERK and p38 and its pharmacological properties were facilitated via the inhibition of the nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathway. Moreover, ${\alpha}-LA$ suppressed the activation of NOD-like receptor pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasomes, multiprotein complexes consisting of NLRP3 and caspase-1, which are involved in the innate immune response. Finally, ${\alpha}-LA$ decreased the genes accountable for the M1 phenotype, $IL-1{\beta}$ and ICAM1, whereas it increased the genes responsible for the M2 phenotype, MRC1 and ARG1. These findings suggest that ${\alpha}-LA$ alleviates the neuroinflammatory response by regulating microglial polarization.

  • Drug self-delivery systems can easily realize combination drug therapy and avoid carrier-induced toxicity and immunogenicity because they do not need non-therapeutic carrier materials. So, designing appropriate drug self-delivery systems for specific diseases can settle most of the problems existing in traditional drug delivery systems. Retinal pigment epithelium is very important for the homeostasis of retina. However, it is vulnerable to oxidative damage and difficult to repair. Worse still, the antioxidants can hardly reach the retina by non-invasive administration routes due to the ocular barriers. Herein, the targeted group (folic acid) and antioxidant (melatonin) have been grafted on the surface of ZnO quantum dots to fabricate a new kind of drug self-delivery systems as a protectant via eyedrops. In this study, the negative nanoparticles with size ranging in 4~6 nm were successfully synthesized. They could easily and precisely deliver drugs to retinal pigment epithelium via eyedrops. And they realized acid degradation to controlled release of melatonin and zinc in retinal pigment epithelium cells. Consequently, the structure of retinal pigment epithelium cells were stabilized according to the expression of ZO-1 and β-catenin. Moreover, the antioxidant capacity of retinal pigment epithelium were enhanced both in health mice and photic injury mice. Therefore, such new drug self-delivery systems have great potential both in prevention and treatment of oxidative damage induced retinal diseases.
