  • In order to verify the effects of sleep efficiency and sleep latency depending on the sound, Polysomnography was carried for the different sound stimulations, such as Sound A(providing R bed Co.), Sound B(1/f fluctuation sound develope by KRISS), and no sound stimulation. In case of sleep efficiency and WASO(wake after sleep onset) ratio Sound B shows more affirmative effect than no sound stimulation or Sound B. It is the result that the effect is caused because 1/f fluctuation sound has the rule and unexpectation. This research results show the possibility of application and development of the sound for sleep.

  • Let f and g be nonconstant meromorphic (entire, respectively) functions in the complex plane such that f and g are of finite order, let a and b be nonzero complex numbers and let n be a positive integer satisfying $n{\geq}21$ ($n{\geq}12$, respectively). We show that if the difference polynomials $f^n(z)+af(z+{\eta})$ and $g^n(z)+ag(z+{\eta})$ share b CM, and if f and g share 0 and ${\infty}$ CM, where ${\eta}{\neq}0$ is a complex number, then f and g are either equal or at least closely related. The results in this paper are difference analogues of the corresponding results from.

  • In this paper, we give some results on ${\frac{zf^{\prime}(z)}{f(z)}}$ for the certain classes of holomorphic functions in the unit disc $E=\{z:{\mid}z{\mid}<1\}$ and on ${\partial}E=\{z:{\mid}z{\mid}=1\}$. For the function $f(z)=z^2+c_3z^3+c_4z^4+{\cdots}$ defined in the unit disc E such that $f(z){\in}{\mathcal{A}}_{\alpha}$, we estimate a modulus of the angular derivative of ${\frac{zf^{\prime}(z)}{f(z)}}$ function at the boundary point b with ${\frac{bf^{\prime}(b)}{f(b)}}=1+{\alpha}$. Moreover, Schwarz lemma for class ${\mathcal{A}}_{\alpha}$ is given. The sharpness of these inequalities is also proved.

  • Recently, thrombotic diseases have become rapidly more prevalent due to Westernized lifestyles and high-fat diets. In this study, the anti-thrombosis activities of the aerial parts of Sageretia thea were evaluated using ethanol extracts of the leaf (ST-L), branch (ST-B), and fruit (ST-F), and their anti-coagulation, platelet aggregation inhibition, and hemolytic toxicity were assessed. In comparison to the ST-F extract, the ST-B exhibited 6.7 times more polyphenol content, and the ST-L had 2.7 times more total flavonoid content. The ST-L and ST-B extracts showed stronger inhibitions of thrombin, prothrombin, and blood coagulation factors than aspirin, berry extracts, or commercial oriental herbs. Furthermore, ST-L and ST-B showed superior platelet aggregation-inhibitory activities than aspirin. The ST-F extract demonstrated only minor anti-thrombosis effects, and none of the extracts showed hemolysis against red blood cells up to 1 mg/ml. Phenolic acid and flavonoid analysis of the ST-L and ST-B extracts showed abundant rutin, isoquercitrin, and astragalin as the major active compounds. Further research on the anti-thrombotic activity of isoquercitrin, a rare flavonoid from quercetin, is necessary. This is the first report of isoquercitrin in Sageretia thea, and our results suggest that ST-L and ST-B extracts could therefore developed as anti-thrombosis agents.

  • The human $B_{12}$ trafficking chaperone hCblC is well conserved in mammals and non-mammalian eukaryotes. However, the C-terminal ~40 amino acids of hCblC vary significantly and are predicted to be deleted by alternative splicing of the encoding gene. In this study, we examined the thermostability of the bovine CblC truncated at the C-terminal variable region (t-bCblC) and its regulation by glutathione. t-bCblC is highly thermolabile ($T_m={\sim}42^{\circ}C$) similar to the full-length protein (f-bCblC). However, t-bCblC is stabilized to a greater extent than f-bCblC by binding of reduced glutathione (GSH) with increased sensitivity to GSH. In addition, binding of oxidized glutathione (GSSG) destabilizes t-bCblC to a greater extent and with increased sensitivity as compared to f-bCblC. These results indicate that t-bCblC is a more sensitive form to be regulated by glutathione than the full-length form of the protein.

  • In this paper we provide a brief introduction to the continuity of approximate point spectrum on the algebra B(X), using basic properties of Fredholm operators and the SVEP condition. Also, we give an example showing that in general it not holds that if the spectrum is continuous an operator T, then for each ${\lambda}{\in}{\sigma}_{s-F}(T){\setminus}\overline{{\rho}^{\pm}_{s-F}(T)}$ and ${\in}$ > 0, the ball $B({\lambda},{\in})$ contains a component of ${\sigma}_{s-F}(T)$, contrary to what has been announced in [J. B. Conway and B. B. Morrel, Operators that are points of spectral continuity II, Integral Equations Operator Theory 4 (1981), 459-503] page 462.

  • In this paper, we research the normality of sequences of meromorphic functions concerning the sequence of omitted functions. The main result is listed below. Let {$f_n(z)$} be a sequence of functions meromorphic in D, the multiplicities of whose poles and zeros are no less than k + 2, $k{\in}\mathbb{N}$. Let {$b_n(z)$} be a sequence of functions meromorphic in D, the multiplicities of whose poles are no less than k + 1, such that $b_n(z)\overset{\chi}{\Rightarrow}b(z)$, where $b(z({\neq}0)$ is meromorphic in D. If $f^{(k)}_n(z){\neq}b_n(z)$, then {$f_n(z)$} is normal in D. And we give some examples to indicate that there are essential differences between the normal family concerning the sequence of omitted functions and the normal family concerning the omitted function. Moreover, the conditions in our paper are best possible.
